Efe, I award you with this barnstar for your tireless contributions to music related articles, particularly in the Good Article process. --Thamusemeantfan (talk) 18:56, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Name change

You have ditched the BnB username?--Lenticel (talk) 09:40, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I've got a thousand ideas floating on my mind on what "Efe" means but I think I like your new name since it is way shorter so I don't have to choose from various nicknames. Hehe.--Lenticel (talk) 10:02, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

dashes on talk:MOS

Hallo, It's not clear to me what you're replying to here. Could you either indent your comment, if it's a reply to what's above it, or move it further down the page if it's a reply to one of the earlier comments. And I'm not sure what you mean by "dates in numbers are delimited by a hyphen", as the discussion immediately above was about date ranges like (1952-2008), where an en dash is used. Perhaps you could clarify? Thanks. PamD (talk) 10:19, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: On The Wiggles

Efe, thanks for your kind words. I'm not surprised The Wiggles didn't make it; it's not quite ready. I'll give it some breathing room, get it copyedited again, and try again in a couple of weeks. This is the first article I've tried to direct towards FA, so I'm learning a lot about the process. I appreciate all your help and mentoring. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 10:52, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Marcela de Agoncillo

Wow you did managed to get this GA status. Congrats! I'll put it in my User:Lenticel/Articles#things_I_helped_with if you don't mind. Hey can you help me promote the Tamaraw article as well. (Don't worry the information is okay and stable, I think it only needs some section rearrangement)--Lenticel (talk) 08:35, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Bernard Fanning

Thanks for your valuable comments regarding the Bernard Fanning article on the peer review. I've responded to a couple of your responses, if you'd care to glance over and see what we've done (most of it we've just gone and dont, but a couple of things need your response again). Barnstar

  The Original Barnstar
For your titanic effort on nearly every article related to Beyoncé, and especially the songs from B'Day. Kakofonous (talk) 18:22, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

deja vu

The content is fine, definitely FA-level; the only problem is the prose which tends to be poor at times. My biggest concern is the second paragraph of the video section, which doesn't make sense to anybody who hasn't seen the video; from what I can read, its just Beyonce dancing in a bunch of locales, with Jay Z rapping along. I'd prefer it if it were condensed to two-three sentences and combined with the first paragraph. I also think the chart section goes into too much detail giving information such as debut charting no and then peak no for so many charts; I'm also not too fond of including very detailed dates as ten years from now it makes no difference whether it reached #1 on 1 August or 2 August, so in a lot of instances those details can go. indopug (talk) 11:24, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Damn, the article was archived; did you ask the reviewers to revisit? Anyway, don't worry, we'll work on it and renominate in a couple of weeks. =) indopug (talk) 02:44, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
I hate to say this but I'm a little busy to give detailed comments/CE; I also have a few hangups at FAC. I'll try my best though. indopug (talk) 13:42, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Sure thing. On another note, you have twelve GAs! I think some of those (Gimme More, Deja Vu) can easily be upped to featured status given a good allround copy-edit. Maybe you should try the LoCE? indopug (talk) 11:05, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
When are nominating? I'll see if I can squeeze in a copy-edit and also an FAC-type critique on your talkpage before then. indopug (talk) 12:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

two birds with one stone

Hi, Efe. I saw that you categorize your contributions to either music or Philippine related articles. I just thought you might help with Philippine music articles (hence the title). Anyways, could you expand Ang Huling El Bimbo? I think you're good with songs so maybe you could improve this to GA status--Lenticel (talk) 12:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

I could help you with the non-song articles so you could have less stuff to think about but I can't really help you with songs (not my specialty). I'll call you Brit na lang if you want to. Nga pala is "efe" your code for your own "other means" ;)--Lenticel (talk) 13:01, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Huh? hindi ba short for effeminate? --Lenticel (talk) 09:05, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Nah, effeminate =/= gay. Being gay is a sexual preference. Being effeminate is having female qualities but not necessarily sexual in nature. --Lenticel (talk) 09:17, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, let's just say I'm still editing Wikipedia (sob) :( --Lenticel (talk) 09:38, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

GA Nomination: Lose My Breath

After reviewing th article you nominated: Lose My Breath I am proud to say that it does meet wikipedia's Good Article Criteria. Congratulations. You may want to nominate more articles in the future, or do some reviewing yourself! JayJ47 (talk) 03:40, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Nickel Creek

Hi, there! My most recent GA nominee, Nickel Creek, has been put on hold because the writing could use some minor changes. Seeing as I wrote the majority of the article, I need a second opinion on the writing. You are one of the more active GA reviewers, and I thought I would ask you first as you were wrote some of the comments on Why Should the Fire Die?'s GA review, a Nickel Creek related article. If you wouldn't like to do this that is fine, either way, please leave me a note on my talk page. Thanks! --Thamusemeantfan (talk) 06:31, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Burn Nomination

Sorry for that! My computer brokedown when I was editing. Thanks for letting me know because I was unsure whether or not the edit had made it through or not! JayJ47 (talk) 07:53, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

re:About my penchants

I wasn't questioning anything, I was just stating that you are good with those articles. I really couldn't care less what people listen to. As for your userbox, I don't understand how that applies to the music you listen to. I personally am far from it, but I see nothing wrong with people who are; that makes you no less of a good person. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 22:09, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

That's cool if that's what you think. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 00:25, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

re:Glenn Chong

I've been writing bio stubs for all current members of Congress, slowly working my way alphabetically (by legislative districts) from Abra to Zamboanga. No special reason concerning Rep. Chong other than that Biliran is among the districts I've finished so far. Feel free to correct, add edit, etc., as I really know nothing about Chong other than his bio on the House website and what a cursory Google search can reveal. Cheers! --Anyo Niminus (talk) 10:18, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Not a problem. I suspect I'll feel a little more invested the moment I get to my own congressman (Zamora of San Juan). --Anyo Niminus (talk) 11:58, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

correct Love In This Club pls

1) Y did your rfa make u change your name? What does 'efe' mean?
2) I'm not Philipino but I luv Claudine. I watch Walang Kapalit over and over! She is very talented!
3) Pls correct the Love In This Club. Its the #1 digital song, #1 on Hot 100 digital chart. Chris Brown (singer) is #1 Hot 100, the airplay chart.
4) Y is the page locked?
Thx!___70.108.100.102 (talk) 21:55, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Because they wanted me to change my username. Efe? Secret. I'll tell you soon. Ok, you love her. Anyway, I'll correct that. The page is locked because, maybe, there has been a lot of vandals in that page. --Efe (talk) 00:37, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Barnstars survey

Hi Efe. I'm running a small survey about wikipedian barnstars. If you have the time, I would really appreciate you taking a look and participating. The survey can be found here. Thank you! Bestchai (talk) 07:06, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the typo note, fixed. Sure, if you take the survey tomorrow or the day after that would be fine. Thanks! Bestchai (talk) 22:16, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Wikipedia:Peer review/Irreplaceable/archive1

Unfortunately, I didn't even notice your message until today. When I find time, I'll indeed cast my eye over it. Have you thought of also trying 17Drew? He has several music FAs to his belt, all rooted within popular music. I think his expertise would be rather beneficial. LuciferMorgan (talk) 09:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

I just did a partial review, which can be found on the peer review page. You're better off addressing those comments, and then heading to FAC in order to deal with their comments. LuciferMorgan (talk) 12:12, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Ah right, you're from the Phillipines. This would explain the odd phrasing here and there. If it's any consolation, I cannot speak a single word of Filipino. I have noticed a person called Indopug reviewing a lot of music FACs, so he would possibly comment on a future FAC. Perhaps if he comments now, then you can address his concerns before an FAC. I'll take a look through the rest of the article. By the way... when I need to find an alternative word for something, I use this website. LuciferMorgan (talk) 13:34, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Which article are you specifically aiming to successfully nominate at FAC? LuciferMorgan (talk) 13:22, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Kind of an "all over the place review" just scrolling through-
  • a category "Beautiful Liar" was also nominated - is confusing, it reads as if the song is a new category
  • I think you should reword the entire third paragraph of the music video section- don't mention she was nominated for an award if she won it like "She won the latter", and the excessive details of who she lost to may seem unnecessary
  • Ref 2, 16 and 45 should be lowercase, there are probably others example - THIS - This
Done
  • A lot of the refs repeat the publisher - "MTV, MTV Networks" - "About, About, Inc." - "FOX News, FOX News Network, LLC." Seems redundant and stands out like a sore thumb
This is the only comment of yours in the peer review I did not address. I have problems in distinguishing work from publisher.
  • Stargate focused on the sound of "Irreplaceable".[1] When Ne-Yo heard the song, pre-produced by Stargate, seems kind of redundant
Removed.
  • Ref 33 needs italics
I put it in the publisher parameter so it cannot be in italics, unless if i'll put it to work entry.
  • Hermansen said, "We liked it and so did Ne-Yo. Who will cut this?" - seems to add nothing
  • After filming Dreamgirls, Beyoncé worked on material for her second album B'Day. After
Reworded.
  • Jason Goldstein at the Sony Music Studios
Deleted
  • , the Spanish version of "Listen".[21][20] missing an "and" at the end of this sentence
No, "Oye" is the Spanish version of "Listen"
Oh i get it, but it sounds confusing. It reads like Voltio and "Oye" (as in an artist, not song) were featured on the Timbaland track. M3tal H3ad (talk) 11:02, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I think I need to put comma before "Oye" to disambiguate. --Efe (talk) 02:57, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Remove link from critics
Delinked
  • It was later listed on the site
Removed
  • John Jobling on Mansized.com found "Irreplaceable" a "gorgeous acoustic ballad"[27] while Sarah Rodman - missing a comma
Added comma
  • Hermansen felt that that the track would not - that that M3tal H3ad (talk) 08:26, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

"My Boo (Usher and Alicia Keys song)" Passed as GA

Hi, the article you nominated through the Good Article nomination process has passed as a GA after being put on hold. Thanks for your time and dedication towards the article. You could help out the GAN process by reviewing an article yourself. Thanks. Guerilla In Tha Mist (talk) 14:10, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Opeth

I'm like a rash: I just keep coming back, lol. Hey man, would you mind commenting at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Opeth? That would be groovy. GA Review

Firstly, I'm very sorry for taking so long to respond back; I took a break, been very busy in real life with university studies and everything. Secondly, well done for writing "What Goes Around". I would like to become involved in GA reviewing and would like to know more about it. Since you have much experience with the GA process, I'm asking if you could please tell me what are the things I could improve when reviewing GAs? Many thanks. Rythym and Blues Portal

I chose articles as being assessed GA, A or feature by the WikiProject R&B and Soul Music. The article Irrepleaceable by Beyonce is in the GA. I have never before listed that the article is on the portal on their talk pages, tis a good idea. Will look at making a template for such. The thing most frustrating with the portal is that the images which are fair use for the articles, are not remaining on the portal which refers to the articles. I think I will leave a help me not on my talk page, as I have asked for assistance at other pages, and no response as to how to proceed...not use fair use images for a portal, do a fair use explanation for each image used on the portal or what have you. Kind Regards. SriMesh | talk 17:58, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

I have followed through and made a template and added to the included article and biography pages. The template is listed on the Portal talk page. Thanks for the idea. Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 23:03, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I have added My Boo (Usher and Alicia Keys song) to the portal as well as it has passed GA. Please feel free to add any further articles which pass GA, A or FA to the Portal by making a descriptive article page for this list. Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 23:22, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. I have removed the fair use images, and placed a request for anyone who knows of a copyright free public domain image, to plop it into the portal. I made the portal, seeing the request in the wikiproject R&B and Soul Music newsletter, and I enjoy making portals. The R&B and Soul Music wikiproject covers such a huge range of music that hopefully it grows or receives more notice for folks to want to participate. Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 00:45, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
The first newsletter published was July 2007 it is viewed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Newsletters ... it seems to have stopped there, though. Outreach pages on wikiprojects which welcome new members with a welcome template, and newsletters delivered to all the members seem to re-generate some interest. Kind Regards again SriMesh | talk 00:58, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
When referring to a category in a talk atmosphere, must put a colon in front of the name of the category if not, the article is plunked into the category, I forgot the colon. Sorry about that SriMesh | talk 01:23, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
