- The BVI is the #1 provider worldwide of offshore companies, so that makes sense. See Panama Papers: British Virgin Islands is largest source of foreign ownership of UK property for example. Edwardx (talk) 15:51, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

- I'm sure many people think that, and the media does tend to simplify things, but the Mossack Fonseca connection is the only common thread, and they just happened to have a Panama HQ, hence the name. Edwardx (talk) 16:21, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
- I've added a bit more, but I don't fully understand it. Perhaps you could add more relevant info. His water company definitely needs an article too (though I may work on that later).Zigzig20s (talk) 16:40, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

For the Oscar nominated articles
Make sure you link them to the yearly pages also for the Oscars! I was going to do more sometime but never got down to it! (One major problem is how many of the remaining people have alternate names as well as people like editors have too many pages to link to), also link them to the foreign articles (most of them have links in German already) Wgolf (talk) 21:38, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Pat Ast
Edwardx, Thank you so much for creating the Pat Ast article! I was going to create the article at some point, but kept putting it off because it seemed a little too daunting for me. Glad you did, you did a fantastic job! ExRat (talk) 06:32, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
- That's very kind of you, ExRat. I only started the ball rolling. JAEVI did most of the hard work. And Philafrenzy is now making some fine adjustments.
- As long as a subject is notable, and one demonstrates its notability with one or two citations from reliable sources, that should be enough to start an article. And it is very gratifying how often others come along and expand things, as with Pat Ast. Do try not to feel too daunted - articles about genuinely notable subjects rarely get deleted! #100wikidays?
Hey, I saw that you are regularly writing new articles about writers and novelists, and I thought you might be interested in meta:100wikidays which is a great self-driven challenge to write a Wikipedia article every day for 100 days. You can see my tracking at User:Sadads/100 Wikidays Prep. I hope you take the challenge! Sadads (talk) 05:23, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for your kind thought. Having started over 2000 articles, I currently average well over one per day, but wouldn't like to be tied down to having to do it every day. Nonetheless, it's a great idea! Edwardx (talk) 11:58, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

Hobhouse family
He Edwardx - Thank you for creating the articles Will Hobhouse and Henry Hobhouse (author) as well as the Category Hobhouse family. I spent a lot of time researching and writing the article Stephen Hobhouse which you included in your category (Feel free to tinker with it if you have anything to add). Do you have any special knowlege of this large and fascinating family? And are they all related? It is clear that your two Hobhouses are related to Stephen the peace activist. There is a lovely family tree that includes some of the Hobhouse clan in the article Catherine Courtney, Baroness Courtney of Penwith, another Hobhouse relative. Then there is the fascinating Beatrice Webb, sister-in-law to Henry Hobhouse (East Somerset MP), thus an aunt of Stephen. Do you have any ideas about how to bring bit of order to this large and complicated family? Are there any Hobhouses that need articles to be written about them? In any case, kudos on your two articles.--Toploftical (talk) 21:34, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- And thank you for your kind words. Stephen sounds like a very interesting fellow. It is fascinating how these families connect with each other. That house photo for Catherine Courtney, Baroness Courtney of Penwith looked familiar - always good to see one's efforts getting used. A while ago I did a lot of work on the Bevan family, and it it can be tricky to puzzle out the links, especially when they keep reusing first names. Infoboxes help, which is why I've just added one for Arthur Hobhouse. We could do a page for Hobhouse family, but Hobhouse already covers much of that ground. I'm confident that there are other family members in need of articles, and will let you know if I come across any. I think I will do a DYK for Henry Hobhouse (author) in a few days. Edwardx (talk) 22:01, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Great idea about the infoboxes! I will do one for Stephen when I have time. I would love to see family tree charts for families like the Hobhouses and the Bevinses in the beautiful format used in Catherine Courtney (Good grief! I just looked at how the editor did it–rather complicated and tedious I fear.) Nice photo of the Courtney house.--Toploftical (talk) 22:21, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Always easier to take a decent photo when the house is as lovely as 15 Cheyne Walk. I've never done a chart like that either. Just added Penelope Hobhouse (look at her relative Robin Chichester-Clark, who has an easier chart style) to the category, and added wife and children details to Arthur Hobhouse. Little by little, one can flesh out the wider story of the family and how it connects with other notable families. Every little helps. Edwardx (talk) 22:41, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

- I'm not sure of the scope of this category but I've just added Hermione Hobhouse, which I started a couple of years ago. Andrew D. (talk) 22:46, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, Andrew. Just looked at the article history and spotted your name, and now a message. I'm not quite sure who the common Hobhouse ancestor (somewhere in Somerset) is, but they are all closely related. When I know, I will annotate the category page accordingly. Much more to be done, as always. Edwardx (talk) 22:54, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

Help with David Harding (financier)
Hi Edwardx! As it seems like one of your major areas of interest on Wikipedia is biographies for businesspeople, I was wondering if you'd be interested to assist with a few small requests that I have for David Harding's article? He's been in the news recently for his support of the Britain Stronger in Europe campaign but this is not yet reflected in his article. Additionally, there are some details in the current article that either need correcting or updating. In particular, his family details are not accurate. I'd prefer not to make any edits myself as I'm consulting on behalf of Mr. Harding. Do you have a little time to take a look? Thanks in advance, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 21:55, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

RfA
Hi Edward. I glanced through your talk page archives and saw that RfA had been suggested to you earlier this year and you were considering it. I'd like to add my encouragement for you to run if you get the time. We can always use more admins and I think you would be an exceptionally good chance to be successful if you did put your hat in the ring. I'd be happy to nominate you if you were ever interested, though I appreciate you don't know me from Adam and might prefer a nomination from someone you've collaborated with or even to nominate yourself. Best, Jenks24 (talk) 13:15, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

Your contributed article, The Washington, Hampstead
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, The Washington, Hampstead. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – The Washington, Belsize Park. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at The Washington, Belsize Park – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Sir Joseph (talk) 15:34, 21 June 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Prusa i3 questions
Hey Edward
Thanks very much for helping me with the DYK, I have a couple of questions that I can't find answers to I wondered if you could help me with?
- There is a misunderstanding about the references which I have explained but I'm not sure if I need to use a template or something?
- I told the inventor of it and he made a cool little video for the article which I've added, however the text still says (pictured), is there are an alternative word for videos? I can't find it in the documentation but maybe I'm missing something.
Cheers

Proposed deletion of Quicksilver (company)
The article Quicksilver (company) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you. This proposed deletion was started by User:Piotrus
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Philip May
Hi, I am pretty 99% sure that the Philip John May in the Companies House listing is not the same one as the Philip John May moving into number 10. That Philip May is frequently referred to as the Chief Executive of the chemicals company U-POL (here also and this Linkedin page suggests a separate person. The Philip May now moving into no. 10 had a different LinkedIn page which has now been deleted that said he worked at Capital Group. Blythwood (talk) 04:18, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, also: the ages are wrong. The notable Philip May is 58 now, not 56. I think this listing may list him as a director of Wimbledon Conservative Properties (May once lived in Merton which is nearby, she was a councillor there). Blythwood (talk) 04:22, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Agreed. Thank you Blythwood for your work in fact checking and improving the article. Edwardx (talk) 10:41, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Alan Howard Wikipedia - Proposed Additions
Hi Edward. I hope this message finds you well!
I’m writing to you as I have a CoI and I see that you’ve edited a large number of Wikipedia pages, including many top hedge fund managers and other significant figures in the business and finance space.
I’m looking to see whether you would be interested in adding some information to the Wikipedia page of Alan Howard, hedge fund manager at Brevan Howard, who has asked me to help have it updated.
His current Wikipedia page is a stub: it has some information regarding his professional career, however, there is a lot of information about him that is available online but is not on his page.
I have combined this new information (cited) with the existing page and saved it as a draft on my talk page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Algo0101
Do let me know your thoughts and if you would be happy to include these additions.
Many thanks - Algo0101

- Thank you, Algo0101, but you would be better to suggest small one-off changes at the article talkpage, along with citations and reasoning where appropriate. Please bear in mind that whilst you are being paid to edit, the rest of us are volunteers, and if you want our help, you have to make it easy for us to help you! - Such lists (and of CEOs) for major corporations would be useful. For example, List of chairmen of Citigroup or List of CEOs of Ford Motor Company. For Tesco, it might have to be created piecemeal. Edwardx (talk) 11:22, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
- Started List of chairmen of Tesco. Edwardx (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Paul Polman's Awards Section looks very outdated, and I noted that you have helped to keep this page updated in the past. - Are any of them notable awards (notable in the sense that Wikipedia has a separate article about them)? Edwardx (talk) 11:42, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for looking into it. Yes, the Public Service Star (Distinguished Friends of Singapore) award in Singapore is noted here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bintang_Bakti_Masyarakat. It was also included in Walter Kielholz’ Wikipedia page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Kielholz. The Sustainable Tuesday award was included in Maurits Groen’s Wikipedia page - https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurits_Groen. And the ESADE business school has its own page here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESADE_Business_School. Thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.140.219.115 (talk) 12:24, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
- That may all well be true, but none of the awards are notable. We already have several awards mentioned in the Paul Polman article, and Wikipedia is only meant to be a summary, not a list of every award he has ever received. The website www.paulpolman.com is available, and would be a better place for that sort of thing. Edwardx (talk) 21:24, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
