Gérard Lhéritier
edit... that Gérard Lhéritier founded a museum (pictured), bought the Marquis de Sade’s 120 Days of Sodom manuscript, won €170 million in a lottery, and is under investigation for pyramid scheme fraud?

- Comment: other hooks welcome
5x expanded by Philafrenzy (talk), Edwardx (talk), and Gareth E. Kegg (talk). Nominated by Edwardx (talk) at 22:08, 16 March 2016 (UTC).
- QPQ has still not been provided after three weeks, and is needed before we recruit a reviewer. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:50, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, BlueMoonset. QPQ done. Edwardx (talk) 11:46, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
- Full review needed now that QPQ review has been submitted. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:39, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
- Prose expanded from 226 to 2211 characters in the days prior to nomination, copyvio unlikely - 10.7%, QPQ done, hook is 182 characters long, sourced, and tells an interesting story, but might give away too much of the goods up front. On the other hand, I'm not sure there's a way to shorten it and retain its interestingness. I support ALT0. AdventurousSquirrel (talk) 07:49, 14 April 2016 (UTC) (New-ish DYK reviewer, requesting another set of eyes, please.)
- It's not clear what the hook is trying to prove, but that last activity is a negative comment on a living person. Yoninah (talk) 20:37, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you Yoninah and AdventurousSquirrel. I usually prefer short hooks, but nothing really stood out, so it's more a summary of the most interesting aspects of his life. I've drafted an ALT1 without the final item. Edwardx (talk) 22:04, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
- ALT1
... that Gérard Lhéritier founded a museum (pictured), bought the Marquis de Sade’s 120 Days of Sodom manuscript, and won €170 million in a lottery?
- I think you have a few other options here.
- ALT2:
... that the career of French manuscript dealer Gérard Lhéritier took off when he discovered balloon mail?
- ALT2a: ... that Gérard Lhéritier's career took off when he discovered balloon mail?
- ALT3:
... that in 2012 Gérard Lhéritier won the largest-ever EuroMillions prize in France, a jackpot of €170 million? - Also note that a few paragraphs lack any cites at all, per Rule D2. Yoninah (talk) 22:32, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, Yoninah. All of those ALTs are good. All paras now have cites - I think the ones without were added after the nomination was made. Edwardx (talk) 23:23, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
- I find ALT2a to be the most concise and engaging example. All other requirements met. AdventurousSquirrel (talk) 09:20, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
