Thank you, for the note. The iris article was one of my first plant-based articles for wiki - so I was still learning when I wrote that one. Should have spotted the native heading - I use Distribution and habitat as a main heading and then Range and Habitat as subheadings now !! Thanks for your thanks on updating the Oxford herbarium :)

I was told to update the wikipages with the news of the new department that has taken over the Hebarium: Draft:Department of Biology, University of Oxford

I don't know how to use Wikipedia and I'm new to it, but I'm trying to update information by creating a new page to link to, as I was asked. I wondered if you have any advice on getting things published? You seemed like a frequent Wiki user so I thought I would ask.

Hi 48jkb35m, I found that as a new user, the best way of creating new pages ie plant species, genus and so on is to find a similar existing article (dealing with the same type of details) and then copy those details into the draft article and edit to suit, while adding new bits and pieces (with the appropriate references and such).

Looking at your draft; seems initially good.

I would keep this up to date. Wiki hates future news. Remember it is primarily an Encyclopedia - so stuff that happens in 2025 does not exist or may never happen. So, mention the construction but not the move!

Try to not use the main biology ref too much - this looks too much like using one source, another of wiki editors bugbears and hates!

Re - Notable staff (could be put into columns) {{Div col}}
placed at the start (of the list) and {{Div col end}}
at the end - would improve the look and format.

Personal note, I never used drafts - I just wrote the article and moved it into wiki space and edited when problems arose.

Just did it myself.

It is now live and it should link in with other articles. Make sure there is enough other articles linking to it (wiki hates 'orphans' - an article that does not have many links to and from it. Then it should be fine. Will do a tidy up on the talk page. Well done first article written!!!

At the moment, I am very annoyed. I spent ages (many hours and days, thinking) on that article for it to be wiped out in one (frankly racist) move, without anyone informing me! Racist, it *isn't*. I guarantee the administrator who deleted it doesn't care and likely doesn't have a *clue* what ancestry Plastique Tiara has. It *is* a (long term) effect that the original article for Plastique was created when the only thing that she was notable for was being on RPDR 11. Agreed, you got side-swiped by the prior history, which was ugly enough that anyone trying to recreate it would have hit it. Any references that you have, add them to the discussion on Talk:Plastique Tiara, showing notability *is* the sword that can cut through this, *and* if we can show notability, then we may be able to convince that administrator to restore the article. It is actually fairly difficult to have something *completely* removed without the ability of retrieval.

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Geobalanus oblongifolius. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. That the Graphidales are an accepted order is not what is discussed here. The https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1055790321003134 you mention does not accept all of these families, just the Gomphillaceae (and there is no dispute about that family being accepted). Using Wikispecies as a source, I could argue equally validly (i.e. not validly – WikiSpecies shouldn't be used as a source) that it does not accept the subfamilies as families, see https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Graphidaceae. I can equally argue that since Wijayawardene et al. (2020, 2022) doesn't even address Lücking's well-reasoned objections, that they should not be used as a source for classifications where the temporal banding approach was used. R. linoides

I noticed that you created this article and have made almost the edits to it. (I found it because it had a typo that put it on a page that I periodically check, which lists articles with certain errors.) Anyway, after fixing the typo I italicized the article title, and then realized that it should be titled "Radiola linoides". But when I tried to rename it, I couldn't because there was already an article with that name – and that one is a redirect to "Radiola (plant)" – but it has much less information than the article you created. Do you know of a way to get everything into one article (preferably called "Radiola linoides" and in italics)? As far as I can tell, it may require administrative rights and may take a while because it's not a high priority, but if you know a way, feel free to do so. You are right, about the name ! I had created the article in my user space with "Radiola linoides" as the name but when I tried to move it into user space I couldn't do so! As there was a previous redirect from that name. So I will have to wait until that redirected name space is deleted and then I (or another editor) can rename the article. I forgot to italicize the name when I was renaming the article. Also apology for the typo error. Hopefully it won't be too long before the name issue is resolved. I think it was a 'copy and paste' error, I normally create articles using a former article as a template and work around that before 'uploading' from my user area. Hedlundia anglica

Selene Wamucii is an unreliable source for plants (AI generated text?). In this instance a British and Irish endemic is obviously not going to be used as a medicinal plant in the Himalayas, India and Nepal. And it's a stretch to describe is as being used as an ornamental plant - I've seem it in the collection of whitebeams as Ness Botanic Gardens, and it might turn up in council plantings of native plants.
