DYK for Rabbit Keen

On 1 April 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rabbit Keen, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a rabbit played for the Philadelphia Eagles – as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, that will be a home run. And so that will make it a 4–0 ballgame? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rabbit Keen. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Rabbit Keen), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello, BeanieFan11,
I believe you created a redirect on this page after a page move but then another editor, who has since been blocked, turned it into a draft article. But Twinkle just looks at who made the first edit, which was you, so that is why you are receiving this message. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 19:45, 6 April 2023 (UTC)

1941 Willamette Bearcats football team

With its Pearl Harbor ties, this one has the makings of a good dyk submission. Care to work with me on developing it more fully? (I just started it last night, so there is time to develop it.) There is an eighth victory that I have been unable to find, for starters. I would also like to develop more fully the story of the Pearl Harbor game and its aftermath. Cbl62 (talk) 14:10, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

  • @Cbl62: That is an interesting story. I'm not sure I'd be that helpful in adding text regarding the events of the season (as I haven't written a season article in months and don't have a ton of time for something like that at the present) but I'd be happy to help in finding sources. BeanieFan11 (talk) 18:34, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
No problem. If you want to see if you can find a source for the eighth victory, that would be great. Cbl62 (talk) 19:52, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
Found it. They played an Air Base team on September 19. Cbl62 (talk) 20:16, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

Easter citations

I saw your notice on the reward board about missing citations from Easter. I've, over the course of several edits, added citations to all paragraphs/sections with the citation-needed template and any others that were missing references. I also added non-primary sources to the paragraphs that had only primary sources (and were marked as such). I didn't/couldn't cite every individual song in the music section that was marked as having no citations because it was also marked as needing to be rewritten, and it's generally not necessary to cite every work relating to an artist (in this case, most of the songs were too obscure to have reliable sources about each of them). Let me know if I missed any or if more are required! Clearfrienda 💬 17:05, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

Technical for species micro stubs

What mean all the things in the infobox, Squamata, colubridae, calamaria, chordata, EW, CR, VU etc. If that makes sense to you, great, but to me it doesn't say a thing and I believe to the vast majority also. The is no explanatory text.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 23:38, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

  • The infobox doesn't really let you further explain that stuff (and explaining in the text wouldn't really make sense, as going in-depth saying "the kingdom is animalia, which means ... the phylum is chorodata, which means..." seems off-topic and not that relevant for such pages), although in my opinion it is informative enough already – to know what EW, CR and VU mean, you just need to click "conservation status" – and Squamata and all that is already explained as being the species, genus, suborder, etc. BeanieFan11 (talk) 23:43, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
I just see the other articles on species and those articles are usually much more informative. If I open Calamaria Forcarti I can read a phrase and I'm honestly disappointed and will not recommend wikipedia for that page. Some tag is needed. I thought of too technical then but if you have a better one... I thought of Lead too short, but it's not even a lead, there is no body. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 00:03, 24 April 2023 (UTC)

  • I intend on taking this to close review in the next few days first. BeanieFan11 (talk) 14:55, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

I reviewed the articles currently listed in that proposal and I've removed three that I found you added sources to; Roland Spitzer, Theodore Gross, and Walter Bowler. The complete list is now:

If I missed any, please let me know and I will remove them before starting to prepare them for their move to draft space. BilledMammal (talk) 02:26, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

  • As I said, I would appreciate if you could wait until the close review occurrs (I plan on taking it there between tomorrow and Monday). BeanieFan11 (talk) 14:09, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
That's a lot of articles being sent to draft space, only for them to be deleted in 6 months from now under the G13 criteria. I think a close review would be good in this case since it was pretty clearly split and one could argue this is a backdoor to deletion. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:34, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
@Hey man im josh: Just letting you know that the proposal said that if draftified, there will be an extension on the G13 deletion – although I still definitely agree with you that this warrants a close review and would be a backdoor to deletion. BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:53, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
I understand it says that, but it's difficult to enforce this supposed extension. Users will find them, nominate a draft here and there, and at least some of them will be deleted well before that 5 year mark because not every admin will always remember or be aware of this exception. There's no great solution, but a subset of articles having an extended time to remain in draft space just doesn't feel like the way to go about it. I know your stance, just venting a bit as someone who does do a lot of G13 tagging. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:58, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

The 3:16 game

I know from DYK that you have an interest in sports and I am hoping that I can impose upon you to look over a draft I have started - Draft:The 3:16 game. It was previously deleted by AfD in 2015, but there have a been a few legacy items (2016, 2017) which may meet help it meet WP:LASTING this time. Of course I have no idea what the previous article looked like, but I messaged the closer. Thank you in advance Lightburst (talk) 02:01, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

  • @Lightburst: In terms of quality, it looks alright. You probably will want to include further details on the game itself (if I remember correctly, that game had the shortest period of overtime in NFL history). I don't think I'm the best person to go to for the notability of individual games, however, so I suggest you should start a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Football League. BeanieFan11 (talk) 16:06, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for the message. And if you need a QPQ for the Zimmerman hook I can give you one. Lightburst (talk) 21:30, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
Do you mean Zack Johnson? Thanks, but I feel that I should be the one doing it as it is my nomination. I'll probably get it done in a day or two (as I've got five pending QPQs and that's fourth in line). BeanieFan11 (talk) 01:22, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

Gyula Iványi

Hi BeanieFan11, on what basis do you feel that this meets WP:RS, please?—S Marshall T/C 22:05, 28 May 2023 (UTC)

  • If I'm reading it right, it seems to be the website for a museum of fencing in Hungary. That sounds like something that would be reliable. BeanieFan11 (talk) 22:08, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
I don't think it's a museum of fencing, no. I think it's a Hungarian fencing school. They seem to teach in school gyms rather than having their own venues, so I don't think it's a large scale operation. And that .pdf is hardly an academic paper. Let's move the article back to draft, shall we?—S Marshall T/C 22:21, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
Schools are often reliable as well. I would object to a re-draftification. You may take it to AFD if you like. BeanieFan11 (talk) 22:24, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
    As you wish.S Marshall T/C 22:33, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
The source is self-published, and since we cannot even determine who the author is we can't consider the SME exception to apply. Why do you believe such a source is reliable? BilledMammal (talk) 22:30, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
How do you know that it is self-published? BeanieFan11 (talk) 22:31, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
As much as I want to see these lugstubs expanded and made viable, I do see the point S Marshall is making here, as the site does not clearly demonstrate how it is verifying the information it provides. That said, it may be that the information is credible and could help a search to find a better source, but I don't think the pdf is that source. Bungle (talkcontribs) 22:32, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
