New Zealand English

No big drama, but could you please start using "travellers" (with two L) as per good old New Zealand English spelling? I'm only asking because I must be getting close to fixing the same American spelling of yours in one article close to a dozen times by now. Schwede66 22:37, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

• Hi Schwede66, many apologies for my tardiness. Will endeavour to make sure that I use New Zealand English when spelling "travellers" on NZ and other Commonwealth articles. Hey, I saw that you removed Category:2015 films from Battle of Surabaya (film) because it was already in Category:2015 animated films. The general category is supposed to be non-diffusing, as an individual film could fit into multiple subcategories, or potentially none, so I added it back in. Just thought you should know! Recent COVID-19 pandemic list confusion

I looked at this page, but for the past 2 days, there were problems. Only New Zealand, Ukraine, Singapore, and Malaysia were shown instead of listing countries by COVID-19 like early July. • Hi Evan0512, I do New Zealand and Malaysia because I have connections to those countries and have been following them in the news. I don't have the time and energy to go and chase other countries. I used to do that until 10 May when I had a bit of a burn-out. For other countries like the US, India and Australia, I suggest looking at media reports or the websites of their health ministries and relevant government agencies. Citations with archiveurl but not url-status

Hi Andykatib. You do great work in adding citations, but there is one shortcoming. In many of the citations you add, you include an archive URL and archive date, which is great. But you often omit the 'url-status' parameter. When it is omitted, the default value is 'url-status=dead'. For current material, this default value is practically always wrong, so it needs to be explicitly set to 'url-status=live'. When the parameter is omitted and it defaults to 'dead', the title of the citation is linked to the archive URL, and the link to the original is relegated to later in the citation. When others of us want to check the reference, we look at the citation and are led to believe there is no use looking at the original because it would be dead. There is more info about this at, for example, Template:Cite news#URL. Could you please add to your process for composing citations the step of adding 'url-status=live' (except for those cases where the URL really is dead). Then your citations will be perfect. Thanks. 1. Hi @Vice regent:, so far I have had a looked at the English newspaper called the Malay Mail. Besides Najib's tweet, I haven't heard that much from the Malaysian Government including Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. I added that "Malaysian cleric and politician Fathul Bari Mat Jahya has condemned Mahathir's remarks, calling them "reprehensible tribalism" and declaring that they contradicted Islamic teachings. He also urged Mahathir to take heart the lesson behind the Christchurch mosque shootings." By the way, I am actually based in New Zealand. I grew up in Malaysia and still have family there. Also keep an eye on Malaysian affairs including the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 in New Zealand

Hello I was reading over the Wikipedia article about New Zealand's COVID cases. I was reading the statistics listed in the chart and noticed that the number of confirmed cases was lower than the number of resolved cases! This seemed a bit off so I checked the cited website (found here https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-data-and-statistics/covid-19-current-cases ) and noticed that the numbers portrayed on the Wikipedia article are slightly off. I don't have access to editing the page as it is locked to prevent vandalism but I noticed you were listed as one of the previous editors so I would like to know if it would be possible for you to update the information on the page at your convenience? • Hi Bunnrio, I have had a look at the chart that you were referring to. The reason why the list of confirmed cases is lower than the list of recoveries is because the New Zealand Ministry of Health, for their own reasons, have differentiated cases into confirmed and probable. Adding the number of confirmed and probable cases should give you the total number of cases. I myself don't understand the Health Ministry's policies but we on Wikipedia have to follow the official designations and procedures. Hope this helps clarify the situation.
