Current requests for increase in protection level
editPlace requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Temporary semi-protection: BLP policy violations – Severe accusations not covered by RS. LilianaUwU (talk / contributions) 00:15, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Reason: As soon as protection expires, anonymous IP edits adding un- or poorly-sourced material is added (probably by the subject) so the page goes back to looking like a resume. This has been going on for many years; please consider permanently protecting it or nominating for deletion (subject is not notable) Xblkx (talk) 00:41, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Reason: High level of IP vandalism. They are changing box office backed by reliable sources several times in month. As I can't be available everytime I can't revert them right on time. Needs longer time protection. Mehedi Abedin 02:43, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalism i.e. removal of data TheProEditor11 (talk) 04:36, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- Note to admin: This is a bad request to restore unconstructive content and enforce their version. The user is treating Wikipedia as a directory of listings, and adding largely unsourced content with WP:FAKE references, not to mention unreliable blog-like sources like legodesk.com.--2409:4073:4E39:D390:41DE:C49B:4BBB:61A0 (talk) 07:33, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Reason: Persistent vandalism over several years; repeated temporary protection only stops it temporarily. Some of the edits may be well-intentioned, but they almost all come from new or inexperienced editors seeking to "cleanse" the article of blasphemy against Islam for asserting that a pre-Islamic goddess was worshipped as a wife or daughter of Allah. Similar edits are also regularly made at the companion articles Manat and Al-Uzza. Would suggest indefinite extended confirmed protection of all three, since it is apparent that the same kind of edits will be repeated as long as it is possible to do so. P Aculeius (talk) 04:59, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- If there are multiple editors who are editing in the same exact thing, then it is probably sockpuppetry. 74.14.6.233 (talk) 05:01, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think it's one person using sockpuppets. It's likely that some of the edits involve sockpuppetry, but while the edits are all aimed at denying that such a goddess existed or was worshipped or was regarded as the wife or daughter of Allah, or asserting that she was "fake" or a "demon", etc. they are carried out in a variety of ways, sometimes adding words, sometimes deleting them, frequently arguing through their edit summaries that what the article said prior to their edits was wrong, sometimes citing the Qur'an, sometimes not using the summary, sometimes pretending to be fixing a typo, etc. The last person was an IP editor who edited all three articles similarly; the one before that was a registered user with no other edits; the three before that were all IP's; while the page was partly protected in December it was the site of edit warring initiated by a registered user with no previous edits to other articles, who was eventually blocked with a total of 12 edits over three weeks' time. The one thing they all have in common is that they all seem to be offended by any version that neutrally describes pre-Islamic beliefs that are inconsistent with Islam, or fails to describe those beliefs as false or heretical or blasphemous. P Aculeius (talk) 05:22, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Persistent vandalism – merely a suggestion: this page has been edit-warred for quite some time, even after repeated goldlocks. proposing indefinite (or lengthy) either bluelock or silverlock. Josethewikier (talk) 06:04, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Reason: Persistent addition of copyrighted material by IPs going back to 2022. Some of these are obviously good faith additions, and some of them included material cited to a news article while really being copied from press releases, so I think there's multiple editors involved. History has been mostly revdelled, so I'm sorry I can't be more specific or warn the IPs better.
NB, one or two sentence copyvios rarely set off copypatrol or the copyright bot. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 06:08, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – Seems to be based on unsupported speculation about a new release. No actual evidence or announcement online. Suspect same editor on multiple IPs adding unsourced info. Escape Orbit (Talk) 07:01, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Reason: Requesting preferably semi-protected status for this page. Persistent (years long) low-quality (even if GF) IP edits which significantly undermined the quality of the article. The grammar in particular was unacceptably awful prior to me embarking on an informal project to fix it last week, far beneath the quality we should expect for a major religion. Finally, it appears to be the norm for articles on major religions to be semi-protected. JDiala (talk) 08:05, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Reason: Continuous editing war between non-logged-in users over the result even though it is a Polish victory, and I ask for a low level of security so that only those logged in can edit Birczenin (talk) 08:22, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – An IP editor seems to be constantly removing reliable sources from the article, in an attempt to whitewash the party's image to make the party looks more moderate. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 10:18, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Current requests for reduction in protection level
editBefore posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Reason: The extended confirmed protection is no longer necessary because the autoconfirmed vandalism-only account that vandalized the page in October 2022 probably won't come back to this article. I would suggest reducing it to semi-protection or unprotecting the page entirely. 24.115.255.37 (talk) 21:09, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- Whoops, I did not discuss with the protecting admin first. I did not see that note until after submitting this. 24.115.255.37 (talk) 21:10, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- Owned-and-operated television stations in the United States (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Reason: This page was semi-protected in 2013 for sockpuppetry, but I think the sockpuppet has likely been gone for years and the user who protected it has been inactive for 4 years, so I think removing the protection from the page or at least downgrade it to pending changes is necessary. 2603:6081:893D:13AC:DC19:1DFF:FEB0:A9C2 (talk) 02:53, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
editPlease request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Because NPP is the first line of systemic bias on wiki, exempting even just my creations from NPP is an improvement. In my own experience NPP has been a net negative, while I'm sure it is useful in some cases at some point my article creations aren't those. My creation history is beyond reproach, I have even been solicitied to join NPP on multiple occasions but have repeatedly declined on ideological grounds (I don't join paramilitary organization like the NPP). That's rather odd. Would you mind explaining what brought you here and your thought process in handling this request a bit further? – Joe (talk) 09:31, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) I wholly share Joe's concerns here, even putting aside the extraordinary speed this was seemingly actioned, but to not challenge someone who clearly has some significant underlying issues with the page patrolling process seems to be an oversight. Dear Wikipedians: I'm a Brazilian user with a good grasp in Inkscape who is looking forward to help converting some raster images from the following page to SVG: Images that should be in SVG format
My main interested in that is both to contribute to Wikipedia and to get more experience with vectorial illustrations. However, I cannot upload SVG versions in those images file history because my account is not autoconfirmed (it has less than 10 edits in EN Wikipedia, even though I have more than that in PT Wikipedia).
I'm asking for the "confirmed" flag because I'll probably never do 10 or more edits in EN Wikipedia articles, mainly because I have good reading skills in English, but I'm at "base level" writing in that language. Rmesrmes (talk) 01:58, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Rmesrmes: you should be able to upload these images to Commons in most cases as most of the source images appear to have acceptable licensing. Elli (talk | contribs) 14:15, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I'd like to request page mover rights as I often come across articles that do not follow the Wikipedia:Article titles policy and though usually move those articles myself, they sometimes can't be moved due to technical reasons. I have participated in numerous WP:RMs and opened many significant ones, as well as performed many moves myself over the past. Thank you. PadFoot2008 04:07, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- I am slightly concerned about the number of recent reverted moves. Primefac (talk) 14:45, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Primefac, concerning those two reverted moves, they were indeed mistakes on my part. In hindsight, I should have done a deeper study of the main article Gahadavala dynasty. I had decided to move some Indian monarch articles to be in par with the standard convention of "(name) of (kingdom)" (such as George II of Great Britain), and when I discovered the two articles (Madanapala (Gahadavala dynasty) and Govindachandra (Gahadavala dynasty)), I proceeded to have a quick look at the main article, where I saw the phrase "Gahadavalas of Kannauj", and after performing a quick search through the usages of "Govindachandra of Kannauj" in RS, I arrived at the conclusion that it would be a good move location. After the move was reverted, I dug deeper and read the main article more carefully and found out that the Gahadavalas do not actually appear to have ruled over the city of Kannauj but rather over Varanasi. I have since been more careful in performing such moves, and the five monarch related article moves performed since seem good for now. PadFoot (talk) 11:43, 29 June 2024 (UTC)

- Not done for now; just because one meets the numerical requirements for a PERM does not mean they need to have that PERM. I see almost no RM participation, very few moves (especially ones that would require suppression of a redirect) and no RM/TR requests. If you actually find yourself needing this permission by all means feel free to request again in the future, but your request (and your experience from what I can see) does not indicate you do at this point in time. I would definitely try to reduce the backlog. 48JCL 23:45, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

I have been helping in improving Wikipedia for three years now, and I am familiar with the wikipedia policy on vandalism as well as the main points of NPOV, Verifiability, WP:NOR, and WP:NOT. I'm hoping I can contribute more to Wikipedia by having PCR right. Thank you. — hhypeboyh 💬 • ✏️ 00:34, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

I have a very strong understanding of Wikipedia guidelines, and I revert disruptive editors and report them to WP:AIV on a daily basis. I would greatly appreciate access to this permission so that I can review edits to articles. Skitash (talk) 20:42, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

I help with reverting vandalism, and have also read up on Wikipedia's policies on what content would be generally allowed here. -- Harpick (talk) 00:04, 29 June 2024 (UTC) Harpick (talk) 00:04, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
Rollback

Reason for requesting rollback rights: i have some experience reverting changes via Special:RecentChanges and i always warn users of reverts i make to their changes where possible, wether this be via RedWarn or via Twinkle.
I think this could benefit me with reverting changes and have much less hassle with it all. JoBo Gamer (contribs) 11:20, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

- Not done Please see the notice at the top of this page; with only 79 edits to the mainspace, I don't think you have the necessary editing experience for advanced permissions. Take a moment to check out CVUA, and if you decide you'd like to get involved, you can enroll at the Counter Vandalism Academy to learn more. Thanks, Fastily 00:25, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

Hello; I had rollback until I resigned in March because of lack of need. That said, I have recently ran into situations where this right would be helpful and I would like to get back into the flow of using Huggle and related tools again. Cheers, Queen of Hearts talk 23:51, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
