Insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir

Hello
I agree official figure should be taken but websites mentioned in ref are not official website of J&K. stephen-knapp Facts of Kashmir or stephen-knapp.com and Kashmir Information both seems to be Hindu propaganda websites. While as Jammu-Kashmir.com is more appropriate and reliable. Also it dosnt make any sense that stephen-knapp Facts of Kashmir says US State Department Patterns of Global Terrorism, 1997 and Jammu-Kashmir.com gives figure of 2003.
Stephen-knapp Facts of Kashmir is a no were near the reliable the resource. Also I am a Kashmiri myself, I know true facts and number much more than any of the site, but I know we require a reliable source. Oniongas (talk) 23:56, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Battle of Mogadishu (2009)

Shouldn't this article be cut down a bit, because I would say it is getting to big, maybe just point out the key moments and events in the overall battle and not all of the individual battles.LiquidOcelot24 (talk) 14:04, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force

The IRIAF lost an Il-76MD yesterday. I've added an accidents and incidents section to the article, but not amended the aircraft total in the section above. I'll leave that to your judgement as to whether to amend the table or wait until further info becomes available. Mjroots (talk) 07:55, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

This photo shows that it was the AEW Il-76 that was lost. Mjroots (talk) 08:03, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your message. Re the Awacs aircraft, we have to follow what verifiable sources say, even it it may not be strictly true. Word is that Iran had one operable AWACS and this is the aircraft lost. They have another Il-76MD AWACS aircraft but it is not servicable to the best of our knowledge. Presumable they'll try to bring it up to operable status. Mjroots (talk) 19:51, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

You were the most recently-active editor I could find at Wikiproject Iran. Do you know anything about this guy? I couldn't find much information about him, even searching for "Mohammad Fereshteh Nejad", and I don't think he satisfies the notability guidelines.   pablohablo. 20:21, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Mohammad Abd al-Salam

The article Mohammad Abd al-Salam has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

fails WP:BIO; until we have more than "X says Y" for coverage of X, he shouldn't have an article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ironholds (talk) 17:16, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

List of ongoing conflicts edit

You reversed an edit I made to List of ongoing conflicts to change my change to War in Afghanistan (2001–present) back to Civil war in Afghanistan. The current conflict in Afghanistan had a definite start and involves external belligerents so cannot be categorised as a civil war. There is significant debate about this at Talk:Civil war in Afghanistan. The page Civil War in Afghanistan does noy get a lot of support in its current whereas War in Afghanistan (2001–present) is an article that unambiguously describes the ongoing conflict. I've added a note referencing Civil War in Afghanistan to clarify. Marlarkey (talk) 21:30, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

In what sense did the start of the current war in Afghanistan have anything to do with the earlier civil wars in Afghanistan ? The US invaded Afghanistan for reasons that have nothing to do with earlier phases of civil war in Afghanistan. Marlarkey (talk) 23:06, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

User talk:194.171.76.11

You have been mentioned at User talk:194.171.76.11. I am aware that you have been discussed and even blocked previously in the same disputes (concerning the Donia vandal), and that you (or someone with the same user name, but probably you) are indef blocked at the Dutch Wikipedia. However, it looks to me at first glance like you have only contributed positively to the English Wikipedia for a long time, and are no longer involved with the continuing vandalism by these editors, e.g. User:Trotse Roma and others. (Note: I don't have the possibility to do a checkuser, so this is just commenting on how things look to me). So I have no reason or inclination to take any action against you, but wanted you to know that your name has come up. Fram (talk) 11:06, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I'll let you edit in peace and continue to block the IP and his accounts whenever I encounter them. Too bad abut your block on the Dutch Wikipedia, but I try not to interfere there (they appear to be extremely bureaucratic). Fram (talk) 08:09, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi can you keep an eye on Rumi. Thank you--Chetori5 (talk) 21:02, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Your edit

Your edit on the demography section of Iran makes makes no grammatical sense at all. I understand that English is not your first language, but please stick to what you do best - codes and styles, and do not change the content of articles, if you're not 100% sure that your edits are grammatically sound and correct. --Kurdo777 (talk) 08:17, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Also, why did you spell Kurdistan in the title of "Iranian Kurdistan" page as "Kordestan"?! It's Kurdistan in English, please correct this. --Kurdo777 (talk) 08:34, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Please partially revert yourself here. [1] You're duplicating and repeating the Library of Congress numbers which are already listed above. The library of Congress are now listed twice. Furthermore, besides the obvious poor English, the line "The exact ethnic breakdown in Iran is unknown" is also original research. --Kurdo777 (talk) 09:29, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Also, CIA factbook uses the term "Turkic and Turkic dialects", not "Turkish dialects". Please correct this. --Kurdo777 (talk) 10:12, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
I am sorry, but it's not up to you to interpret what the source says. You're suppose to reflect precisely what the source says without tempering with it. TURKIC is the correct term when talking about Azeri and related dialects. That 1% Turkish is also correct, it's talking Qashqai Turkish. Please correct this. --Kurdo777 (talk) 10:22, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

immature and irresponsible reverts

I am disheartened by your successive reverts to the flag in the subject of the Sa'dah insurgency without partaking in a discussion. I find it both immature and irresponsible to continue to do so given that I have explained why your choice is an incorrect representation of what is happening. I will not resist the most recent revert because I am relatively new and do not know where to lodge my complaint, but you are acting outside of the norms of scholarship and common decency. Umar99 (talk) 07:31, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Warning

Please do not re-add uncited claims to articles as you did in this edit. It is possible to find reliable sources which provide estimates of the total numbers of rebel/insurgent/Taliban fatalities and it is extremely unlikely that the reports in the article include all fatalities. AfD nomination of War on Terrorism casualties

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is War on Terrorism casualties. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/War on Terrorism casualties. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

hi can you please update this map....File:2010 Iraqi election map.png. kirkuk's 12 seats were divided between al-iraqiya list and the kurdish alliance list (6 seats each) and technically aliraqiya got around three thousand votes more than what the kurdish alliance got in this provence so you can't really say that the kurdish alliance has won the majority in this disputed provence. you can check the offical link here http://www.ihec.iq/content/file/result/karkok.pdf. aliraqiya is number 333 and got about 123 thousand votes and the kurdish alliance is number 372 and got around 120 thousand votes. regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.8.131 (talk) 02:40, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

this is the offical website. and the FINAL results show that listi kurdistan got 206542 votes and aliraqiya got 211765 votes. so aliraqiya got the highest number of votes (around 5000 votes difference). i dont know where you got your info from. check this link for the exact figures http://www.ihec.iq/content/file/result/fanall/karkuk_f.pdf —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.8.131 (talk) 16:25, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

I am still waiting for your answer. otherwise i' gonna have to complain to one of the admins in this website because your map is biased and inaccurate —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.8.131 (talk) 17:14, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

sorry i just read your reply, it ddnt appear when i first checked my talk page. the source i provided is the offical website for the independent high electoral commission of Iraq. and they only publish the results in arabic. i checked the english section in the website and the results were in the same language ie arabic. i am sure you can read numbers. also arabic is the offical lnguage of iraq so you its obvious that the results going to be published in arabic, just because you can't read arabic doesnt mean you can't use arabic sources especially sources which are directly related to this article. if you don't trust me you can ask someone who can read arabic and they can read if for you or something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.8.131 (talk) 17:25, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

these are other sources which showes you that both aliraqiya and list kurdistan got 6 seats each out of the 12 seat allocated to kirkuk:

and this is the most uptodate results from the offical website of the IHECOI website. it also shows you the names of the winner candidates. http://www.ihec.iq/content/file/result/names/Kirkuk.pdf

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.8.131 (talk) 17:32, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

as per no of seats no one has won the majority in kirkuk so you can't really say that the kurdish list has won the majority of seats since they only got 50% of the seats and aliraqiya got the rest. as per no of votes aliraqiya got the highest number of votes in kirkuk, 211675 votes where as listi kurdistan got 206542 votes. the offical website shows it clearly. and what do you mean by 'until total results are published', THESE ARE THE FINAL RESULTS after counting 100% of the votes.
http://www.ihec.iq/English/press_releases.aspx?id=2378 --86.146.8.131 (talk) 21:24, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
Whats your reply to my request? --86.146.8.131 (talk) 20:27, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

Even according to your 95% of the results http://www.themajlis.org/projects/iraq-results. aliraqiya got higher number of votes in kirkuk comapred to the kurdish list. so you need to chnage it anyway. and how many times do i have to tell the results are final and are for 100% of the votes. after looking at your profile you making me wonder why you don't want to change the map. and just because you can't read the ref doesnt mean its not valid. its the offical website for gods sake. --86.146.8.131 (talk) 22:34, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

Help in finding references/confirming what is written is true.

Hello Kermanshahi. I got led here from WP:IRAN and it says you know your history. I was hoping then if you can take a look at [2] and confirm whether the pages being written are true. I attempted to find sources for one of them (the daughter I think?) but am not sure as to how accurate my sources are. The others will also need references to see if they are real or not (I am no expert on the field you see). Kind regards.Calaka (talk) 05:31, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Al Anbar campaign

Can you get any citation for the campaign ending on August 14, 2007? From personal experience I can tell you that my battalion conducted some of the final clearing operations of AQI strongholds (complete with combat) in September 2007, the same month Bush made his only visit to the province, two Marines were awarded the Navy Cross in April 2008, the only USMC battalion commander to be killed in OIF died in June 2008, and servicemen were still being killed there as recently as July 2009. Can I convince you to change it back to "Present" or can we agree on a firm ending date? For the sake of expediency, I'm posting this thread on the Al Anbar campaign's talk page. File source problem with File:2004 Turkish elections.png

Thank you for uploading File:2004 Turkish elections.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:08, 15 September 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 16:08, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Women's rights in Iran

Since you have edited Women's rights in Iran and related page. You should take a look at the ongoing dispute on Women's rights in Iran. I don`t want to get involved, but I saw a message about this on the talk page of Iran Wikipedia project, and apparently some editors are pushing position that the stoning (a reprehensible form of capital punishment), is a Women's rights in Iran, and women who have been subjected to this capital punishment, were actuality stoned for being woman or something. 99.238.177.112 (talk) 06:10, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:2004 Turkish elections.png

Thank you for uploading File:2004 Turkish elections.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. —innotata 21:24, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Iraqi parliamentary election, 2010: Government formation and KBC demands

I have raised concerns on the talk page for Iraqi parliamentary election, 2010 here. I do not think the list should be there at all but maybe could be distilled/shortened. They are not the only list of demands in a contentious and hotly contested election; that is ludicrous. Please reconsider your edit/revert. Int21h (talk) 19:47, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello, last year there were + 1000 deaths in the Colombian Armed Conflict, therfore I was wondering if you could update the map (I can' figure out how to do this myself). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ongoing_Conflicts.png

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Balochistan conflict. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.   Please do not attack other editors.[10] If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Elonka 19:53, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Balochistan conflict. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful, then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Elonka 20:05, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Edit summaries

When editing an article, please do not refer to an editor in the edit summary, as it tends to just escalate disputes.[11][12] Please just keep your comments focused on the article, thanks. --Elonka 19:49, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Personal attacks

Please consider this your last warning. If you continue to attack other editors, such as you did here,[13] your access may be blocked from Wikipedia. Instead of discussing other editors, please focus on discussing the content of the article. Try to write posts without using the words "you" and "your". Keeping things in the third-person can be an excellent way of de-escalating a dispute, and re-focusing on the important things: Improving the articles. --Elonka 16:51, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Correction to Ongoing Conflicts.png, Re: Colombian Armed Conflict

I'm sorry to bother you, but I would like to request an update to the Ongoing Conflicts image because the previous edit was based on an apparent misunderstanding of the information involved. At this time, nobody has claimed that there were more than 1000 deaths in 2010, as discussed in the talk page for the main List of ongoing military conflicts article. It appears that this misunderstanding was born out of assuming that casualties (which include both death and wounded) are equal to deaths, but a distinction does exist. I would also invite you to read the source yourself if necessary. My apologies for any inconveniences caused. Juancarlos2004 (talk) 04:59, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

2009 Ashura protests

Hi Kermanshahi, you've recently added a POV tag to the article on the 2009 Ashura protests. The NPOV dispute page says: "The editor who adds the tag must address the issues on the talk page, pointing to specific issues that are actionable within the content policies, namely Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:No original research and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Simply being of the opinion that a page is not neutral is not sufficient to justify the addition of the tag." So, would you please come to the article talk page and explain specifically what in the article you find non-neutral? Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia and wishing you a happy New Year! Thanks, CordeliaNaismith (talk) 14:28, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Blocked

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for continuing to make personal attacks on other editors, despite being warned for this recently, as you did at Operation Blow to the Head. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Nick-D (talk) 22:40, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
In particular, I'm responding to this edit in which without providing any supporting evidence whatsoever or posting on the article's talk page you labeled another editor "a Yemeni government propagandist". I can see no evidence to support such a claim in the editor's editing history, which is largely focused on medieval European warfare. Nick-D (talk) 22:40, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

The entire article was full of sentencens like "Operation Blow to the Head is an ongoing military operation to kill or capture all of the terrorists in the Yemeni town of Sa'dah," "Abdul-Malik al-Houthi took over command over the insurgents, and leads them today. From that time to present-day the insurgency in Northern Yemen has had horrible battles," "The Terrorist leader, Abdullah al-Mehdar, led the Insurgents," and " the town is still being wrestled from the terrorists." This is heavy Yemeni government propaganda meant at demonizing the insurgents. You've seen this article, cause you've edited it and still you claim you can not see any supporting evidence" ? But appealing the bloc won't be of any use since it expires in a mere few hours, which is less time as that process would take.Kermanshahi (talk) 16:59, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome to disagree with wording and improve it (of course), but there's no need to attack other editors or assume bad faith on their behalf, particularly when they've obviously got quite a diverse editing history. You've been previously warned for this conduct, and should expect blocks of increasing duration if you continue it. Nick-D (talk) 02:06, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism ???

Hi. You accused me vandalism. But unfortunately you completely confused provinces with cities. For example, the article Elâzığ Province is related with a province, not with a city (Elâzığ). So we mustn't add alternative names of the city of Van. We can add alternative names of the province of Elâzığ with reliable sources. In short, I am not oppose to Kurdish name, but I am oppose to false information. Takabeg (talk) 22:31, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

And I strongly reccomend you use talk pages and read Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Takabeg (talk) 22:41, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Anti-Kurdish vandalism

Do you think I was born yesterday? I've been on wikipedia for several years and cannot help notice constant vandalism against anything Kurdish by Turkish natioanlists. Your excuse that Kurdish names only apply to cities does not fool me and I will continue to protect these articles from vandalism against Kurdish names which are constantly being removed. Turkish nationalists have even been trying to erase the word Kurd from every single article in wikipedia and clearly I cannot let this happen. This isn't some website owned by the Turkish military junta, this is wikipedia and it is supposed to be neutral. Now you can add your fake Turkish names to where ever you want, but I will continue to revert any edits deleting Kurdish names from any articles, by you or other users.Kermanshahi (talk) 14:29, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

What ? You still confused provinces with cites ? I don't know whether you are Kurdish nationalist or not. But I know that I'm not Turkish nationalist :) This is not the matter of anti-Kurdish, anti-Turkish. It's very very easy. Why don't you understand ? Takabeg (talk) 14:34, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

These provinces are named after these cities, because they are based around these cities and while the Turkish regime has changed their names, the local populations continue to use their original names for both city and province, which is the same. Every few weeks or months there are some Turkish users which delete the Kurdish names from both city and province articles, this is purely because they do not want anything Kurdish on wikipedia. This is ofcourse not acceptable.Kermanshahi (talk) 14:42, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Please read Wikipedia:No personal attacks and use talk pages. OK ? Takabeg (talk) 14:45, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Kurdish and Armenian placenames

Hi Kermanshi, I am sympathetic to your interest in conserving placenames in minority languages and I realize that there are problems with certain nationalist editors removing them repetitively. However the best way to approach the problem is to provide sources for the applicability of the name to the topic of the article - for example if the argument is that the Kurdish name applies to the city but not the province then provide a source showing that it is also applied to the province for example. I realize that this can be hard at times, since there are not that many sources for official usage of minority languages, but I am afraid that is the only way to go about it within policy. Thanks for continuing to provide wikipedia with important information about minority populations in Turkey and else where. ·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 17:16, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Template: POW

You do not need a source to explicitly state that someone is a "prisoner of war" to add this template, according to wikipedia rules: "This template is used to indicate commanders who were captured or surrendered in Infobox Military Conflict," and I am afraid we do not have different templates for insurgent leaders or army officers. For instance here POW is used for captured Iraqi-Kurdish Islamist insurgent commander Abu Abdullah al-Shafi'i while here it is used for captured Taliban commader Obaidullah Akhund and al-Qaeda commander Younis al-Mauritani, while here it is used for captured Palestinian (according Israelis) "terrorist" leader Ahmad Sa'adat. Therefore it is applicable for captured PKK commanders aswell, despite what your government may want to call them.Kermanshahi (talk) 11:35, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi Kermanshahi. I believe we must use citations with POW template. "This template is used to indicate commanders who were captured or surrendered in Infobox Military Conflict," is not a Wikipedia rule, it is just user manual of that template. Also, your examples are declared wars and captured people are captured by the enemy nation, while Öcalan and Sakık are Turkish citizens. Prisoner of War is a legal term, defined by Hague and Geneva conventions. So, we MUST give reliable sources that claim Öcalan is POW, or we should not use POW template with Öcalan. Khutuck (talk) 12:00, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
There are no double standards on wikipedia, you can't use word tererorist because it is just POV and therefore the different combatants in a conflict cannot be treated differently by the objective user. Now the POW template, according wikipedia is for commanders that were captured. We do not apply different standards for insurgents and armies because that is POV, which is against WP rules. + Those other conflicts I showed as examples were exactly the same situation, insurgency conflicts and not "declared wars" between different countries. Now why can you not understand that POW is simply neutral term for captured, as used in all military conflict infoboxes in wikipedia? there is no rule that you have to find specifically that term stated somewhere just as with KIA template. So now, I will not let your anti-Kurdish biases affect the article.Kermanshahi (talk) 14:31, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Kermanshahi calm down. I am not enemy or something, I do not work for government also. I did not say "terrorist" to anyone. I am just asking you to cite sources that refer Abdullah Öcalan as prisoner of war. If he is regarded as a POW, it should be very easy to find those sources. I am not adding any anti-Kurdish stuff onto articles, so stop blaming me. Just add some reliable sources to your claims! Khutuck (talk) 16:32, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
You do not need any sources that refer to him as a prisoner of war, merely sources that say he was captured. Which are provided in the article.Kermanshahi (talk) 16:42, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
We are getting closer to a consensus I believe :) Please replace my citation needed templates with those in-text sources, so we can have a verifiable article. Khutuck (talk) 17:12, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
I do not need any such sources, all that is needed is sources that say these people were captured/arrested by the Turksih government. I really don't know why it is so difficult for you to understand that the use of POW template is just simply for captured commanders (as is stated in the template's own article) and you think there is something special about the word. What other template do you suggest? And have you ever seen any other wikipedia article? Never before in Wikipedia history has someone made such an absurd claim to want a literal quote of the word "prisoner of war" to use the POW template. I do not know why you are so confused, but there are no ot her templates for this.Kermanshahi (talk) 17:16, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Just find a source and make that statement verifiable. "We did before, so what you say is absurd" is not a valid way to improve the article. Add sources, improve the article. --Khutuck (talk) 17:36, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
You have no arguments that's the problem. This is not even an issue. The POW template was created for this purpose and it states so on the POW template page. I don't know what more to say to you. Never before has anyone even brought up such a strange discussion, why would you dispute the use of the POW template? And on what bases do you dispute it? Give me 1 reason why we should make an exception for this article, in not using the POW template for captured commanders? Just 1 reason. You can't. What youa re doing is so useless, why do you want to vandalise the infobox? We have no seperate template for captured isnrugents, how many times do I have to tell this to you! Kermanshahi (talk) 17:41, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
I want a source, that is my problem. Instead of lecturing me, give me a reliable source that states Öcalan is a prisoner of war. I cannot find any neutral source that says Öcalan is a POW. Khutuck (talk) 17:44, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
No! You have no right to demand such thing The POW Template article says it is to be used for all captured commanders, FACT! This fact is more important than your opinion, so you have no right to demand a source with such explicit wording. No, simply a source stating he was cpatured is enough. If you disagree, please take it up with the administrators and tell them to change the entire wikipedia policy for ALL ARTICLES, because until that happens you have no rigtht to remove these templates. It is just pure vandalism.Kermanshahi (talk) 17:50, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
So, you admit you cannot find a single source stating Öcalan as a prisoner of war, and you want to play the rules against the lack of reliable sources to push your POV? --Khutuck (talk) 17:56, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Captured=POW. I have many sources proven he was captured. I proved that on the POW template page it said this is for commanders which were captured. Which part of that is still unclear to you? Kermanshahi (talk) 18:02, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
And that POW templates are used for captured commanders in all cases, is not my "opinion" it is simply common wikipedia practice and it is stated on the template page that thsi is where the template was made for. I have broken no rules and done nothing POV at all by just applying the template for the exact reason it was made for (and is stated on the page). You are however deleting it to push your anti-Kurdish POV, which is vandalism and against wiki rules. I have nothing more to say to you. I simply will not allow you to vandalise the infobox, so take it up with an administrator if you want these POW templates removed. You will see (as I have already pointed out), however, that the rules are on my side and you are doing things that are unheared of.Kermanshahi (talk) 18:05, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Problem is, captured =/= POW. You are technically correct, I understand that. But calling Öcalan a prisoner of war is biased, that is why I am repeately asking for neutral sources to verify. That was why I am insisting on neutral sources to verify Öcalan is indeed a POW. Calling Öcalan POW is Kurdish PoV, not calling POW is neutral PoV (actually no PoV), calling him terrorist is Turkish PoV. We must find a middle ground. You are so eager to call me a vandal, it is hard to believe you are assuming any good faith for me. Please believe that I am trying to improve the article. Adding a reliable source like  (POW)"Öcalan was regarded as a prisoner of war by X, Y, Z" will be the best solution.--Khutuck (talk) 18:13, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Look, there is simply no other template for captured commanders. Therefore, there is no middle ground. There is just one template which everybody uses and which has never been a problem. Kermanshahi (talk) 18:16, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
See, the problem is: you say POW=/=captured, but Wikipedia says: "POW Template is used to indicate commanders who were captured or surrendered in Infobox Military Conflict" and therefore your opinion is irrelevant. And look, 'there is simply no other template for such prurpose the POW template is used in all cases, for all kind of conflicts and all king of combatants. You have no ground to stand on in saying that this case should be an exception.Kermanshahi (talk) 18:19, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Than, this is a problem. No reliable sources refer Öcalan as POW, but the lack of suitable templates dictates us to call him a POW. We need a new template, it not correct to call Öcalan a POW since he is not. POW template calls every captured person as a POW, but that is not the case here. I will ask for help. PS: You finally understood i am not a vandal, better late than never. Khutuck (talk) 18:27, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
This is what I am telling you, POW template is used on wikipedia as a neutral term for any captured commander, weather he is from Turkey, US, Israel, Germany, Iran, ect. or from PKK, al-Qaeda, Taliban, Hamas, ect. and there are no exceptions made. Either you have to change the entire ways and also change all the other articles (because there is not a signle article in wikipedia were the POW template is not used for captured "terrorist" commanders and it has never been required to source this wording). You think an administrator is going to change these ways just for you? Good luck. Come back once you've managed to change the rules. Kermanshahi (talk) 18:33, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Since we ar clear, I want to sum up: What is wrong with you Kermanshahi? Why can't you be polite? You think I am racist, but you are the one who has been very rude during all this conversation. Please reconsider your tone, and see yourself in the mirror; you are rude against me just because I am a Turk. Khutuck (talk) 18:45, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Sorry but I was getting really frustrated with the fact that you did not seem to understand the situation no matter what I said. Also, this article is constantly targetted by Turkish propagandists, which is no coincidence. I have been doing my best for years now to keep blatantly POV propaganda-style statements and claims (usually unsources) off these articles. And I have never before seen anyone taking issue with the POW template before.19:00, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

I understood you, but could not tell you what I meant. I still think we need neutral sources before using prisoner of war template. I searched many sources, but only Pro-PKK sources claim Öcalan as a POW, while rest of the sources define him as a prisoner only. This causes POW template to be kind-of-non-neutral unintentionally. That was why I insisted on neutral sources citing Öcalan as a POW, so it wont be a POV breach. As you saw so far, I am not here to vandalize, I am asking for sources and improving the article. --Khutuck (talk) 19:17, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

PJAK related articles

Hello Kermanshani, Thanks for correcting the date for Mahabad parade bombing, i can't believe i mistyped it twice in the same article. As for the 2010 Iran–Iraq border clash, which you address as being unrelated to the PJAK rebellion (unlike what is mentioned in the source), i will open a thread at the page to discuss it.Greyshark09 (talk) 15:34, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
