Comments???

I don't agree with this layout. Diz and Riku aren't villians, but Pete is. Diz and Riku are more like anti-heroes.

Should only include KH1, CoM, KH2, KH3, Characters, KHOST, KH2OST, and possibly keys.

Emokid

edit

So what's wrong with the old template? Why does Someguy have to be annoying and keep changing it back?--Emokid200618 04:00, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Put new discussions at the bottom of the page. A better question would be "Why does Emokid have to be annoying and keep changing it back?" This is a more streamlined template; the characters, plus Heartless and Nobodies, can be accessed from the character list article. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 04:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Keyblade

edit

Keyblades should be added.

If you were adding it anyway, then why even get others' input? ' 17:32, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mixes

edit

Why aren't the Final Mixes part of the template?--Tempest115 19:42, 23 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Complete

edit

Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Complete should probably be added to the template. DTwirler 17:47, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Manga

edit

I put the KH manga series link in the Kingdom Hearts template. --Naruto134 00:00, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

V CAST

edit

why not to include the v cast episode? —Preceding unsigned comment added by SquallLeonhart ITA (talkcontribs) 21:26, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I believe it keeps being removed because it's already a part of the Kingdom Hearts (series) article. It would basically amount to having two links in the template that go to the same page. Though I do see a reason to list it because it was a separate game. Let's see what others think. (Guyinblack25 talk 21:48, 26 September 2007 (UTC))Reply
Well, there's that, but it's also just so irrelevant. It's not canon and it's not even by Square. o-o;—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 00:37, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
True, but is that really reason enough to exclude it? (Guyinblack25 talk 04:33, 29 September 2007 (UTC))Reply
It's also really only a tiny section. I've added a couple of redirects to compensate for the lack of template link. Axem Titanium 14:51, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
But a lot of other games templates list both canonical and not-cannonical games. see metal gear or castlevania for example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SquallLeonhart ITA (talkcontribs) 18:05, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
But those have actual articles rather than sub-sections. Axem Titanium 18:32, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

coded spelling

edit

I think the name should be spelt Coded in the template since it is a word alone (it's not written Kingdom Hearts coded here but Coded/coded). Notice how the words Characters, Music, Universe are also spelt with a capital letter. Kariteh (talk) 08:38, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, because those aren't parts of titles, they're just parts of article names. "coded" is part of the game's name and spelt with a lowercase there, I see no reason as to why the fact that "Characters" has a capital C should have any bearing on "coded" - rst20xx (talk) 14:38, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think this should clear things up some. Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks)#Trademarks that begin with a lowercase letter. (Guyinblack25 talk 14:55, 11 July 2008 (UTC))Reply
But the trademark is "Kingdom Hearts coded", not "coded", which is why the article uses a lowercase c - rst20xx (talk) 19:51, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
True, but the "coded" is still part of the trademark. Though the article name uses a lowercase, the prose uses "Coded" when it is used by itself and starting a new sentence. The MoS (trademarks) guideline was the rationale for that too. I'd say this is a similar example and should follow the same convention for consistency's sake. That's how I interpret the guideline anyway, but we can get some outside feedback for something more definitive. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:00, 11 July 2008 (UTC))Reply

New format?

edit

I know that this format is similar to that of the Final Fantasy series template, but it just seems more appropriate. Also, I feel that if a game features a secret ending that promotes another game and/or is featured within that video, then that game should be a "main game" while the other games bridge gaps between them, regardless of when they were released. I just find something weird about Birth by Sleep being called a main game.--Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 21:57, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hmm... Interesting format. But I think right now it's presumptuous to call Birth by Sleep a main game, and as an extension, any of them a main game. The previous format was not perfect, but I think it was more objective in listing the first three games in a chronological release order, and the unreleased games in an alphabetical order. I'm in favor of reverting to the previous format for now. Maybe new information will come to light that will warrant a change after the games are released. (Guyinblack25 talk 22:04, 2 September 2008 (UTC))Reply
Okay, we can rework the format. It's just that KH, KHII, and BBS seem to be much more major compared to the other games not in terms of the importance in plot, but rather the scale of the games themselves. Immblueversion (talk) 22:20, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think that was more a product of the systems they're developed for. I'd say KH Re:CoM was of similar scale to KH and KHII, but they first were limited by the GBA's hardware for the original CoM. Plus, with the games still unreleased, we can't really say what the scale of the three will be like. (Guyinblack25 talk 22:31, 2 September 2008 (UTC))Reply

Testing of New Format

edit

Based on previous feedback on the talk page Lets try this format

What are the comments about this template and is it acceptable?KiasuKiasiMan (talk) 11:51, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

A few concerns:
  • Re:Chain of Memories, Keyblade, and Worlds do not have separate articles. Templates are meant to navigate articles in specific topic. Redirects and sub-sections should be avoided.
  • The media list should be in the "Others" section.
  • Maybe link the top title like this (Kingdom Hearts series) instead to reduce confusion between the first game and the series.
Other than that, I'm a bit indifferent to how the template looks. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:38, 3 November 2009 (UTC))Reply
Ok I'll make the changes and update the template.KiasuKiasiMan (talk) 03:20, 4 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Looks better. But unfortunately, File:KH Logo.png is a derivative of File:Kingdom Hearts logo.png, a non-free image. As such, File:KH Logo.png not a free image either and cannot be used in the template. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:57, 4 November 2009 (UTC))Reply

Other games

edit

358/2 Days, Chain of Memories, Birth by Sleep, and coded should not be in the "Other games" list. They are part of the main series. --Sdoo493 (talk) 22:51, 20 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

I agree. All of the games have a clear place in the chronology, and all of them are essential to understanding the entire story. There's no point to dividing them up like this; they should be in one list sorted chronologically either by release date or by place in the story. ~e.o.t.d~ (蜻蛉の目話す貢献) 23:32, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
