Notability edit

@IceWelder: The article clearly meets the notability criteria for people:

  • People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject.

All sources are reliable, independent and give significant coverage, except for #1 (interview), and #13 doesn't give significant coverage. All the other ones (19 sources) give notability. You might question the reability of the Portuguese-language sources, but as a Portuguese Wikipedia sysop I can confirm they are reliable too. Also, I think the coverage he got for "fixing one of the SNES biggest issues" (as described by some sources) can be considered "a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in a specific field". I applied the tag because, seemingly, the only in-depth coverage comes from a non-independent source (#1), while the rest is trivial/routine coverage for various projects by Vilela (see WP:RUNOFTHEMILL), not in-depth coverage of Vilela himself. Notability requires in-depth coverage from multiple independent sources (see the summary at WP:42). If another reviewer disagrees with my assessment, I won't object to them removing the tag.
