Is that the only picture of Pac available?? Please change it as it is really weak for a man such as Pac.

Really Poorly Written

The entire article reads as if it were written by 12 year-olds. I'm amazed that someone as well-known as Shakur has a wiki article of such low quality. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonny Quick (talkcontribs) 07:04, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Ameen Said Actually a few of us got together and spent nearly 4 weeks completely rewriting this article from scratch about 3 years ago. Our goal was to get this article up to FA status, which we actually almost achieved. We verified all sources in the article, added new verifiable sources where appropriate, wiped off all the fan-boy slobber, reorganized and rewrote large portions using proper spelling, grammar and punctuation, and just generally got the article up to a decent level of quality. A week later it was destroyed again with a huge influx of unverifiable claims, conspiracy theories, and it was completely soaked in fan-boy slobber. Trying to fix this article is a serious losing battle--it's a constant tug-of-war between writers who want to gather quality verifiable information, conspiracy theorists, rabid fans. My favorites are the people who "heard something from cousin Pookie and 'em", but can't be bothered to find a verifiable source :) SqlPac (talk) 06:37, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

I'm really glad I read the above before committing any significant time - it looked like a good challenge, as I had exactly the same impression - really poorly written from beginning to end, and the man deserves much better. But if a group spent a month getting it up to "Good Article" quality, only to watch it go down in flames in a week, I won't waste my time. It's a shame, the man does deserve a much better-quality article, and there really doesn't appear to be a definitive impartial article anywhere in existence.

Is there a way to protect the article at a higher level, or simply revert any changes that aren't properly sourced? If that could happen, I'd definitely have a go at it.DoctorJoeE (talk) 15:01, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Why isn't there a picture as good as Biggie's page? This is stupid. Get that statue out of there!

yeh i dont understand why people would want the first picture in the article to be a bronze statue rather then a clear picture of the man —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.214.60.207 (talk) 17:06, 8 November 2009 (UTC) A new Picture is SEVERELY NEEDED.PLEASE changr the picture of this great man and put a better one! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.27.151.53 (talk) 17:07, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Killuminati explanation

[1]It should be noted, either in discussion of the Makavelli: Don Killuminati album are, the section on his incarceration referencing his reading The Prince, or in his Influences section - that he was greatly influenced in his latter time of his career by learning from inmates about the Illuminati. The Vibe Interview Lost Footage shows 2Pac's own mouth saying why he added the K on it because "I'm killing that [expletive]." This influenced him enough to create an entire album around the theme, and is a re-occurring them in his music. People should know what properly influenced 2Pac's words, actions, and fate. Time and source for the interview would help this argument.

It seems to be a bit unclear on how serious 2pac took the subject of Illuminati, but what is very clear is that he saw how serious many of his peers took it, and in response he manifested an alternative concept for people to rally around and develop for the sake of self esteem.$indbad (talk) 08:09, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Death

Tupac died *7* days after the drive by shooting. Not 6. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.161.126.27 (talkcontribs) 02:34, 31 January 2010

Do you have any references? Wouldn't the 13th be 6 days after the 7th? Gimmetrow 02:41, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I can't imagine there will be much debate over this, but can we change "ventilator and respirator" to "ventilator," since those are two names (the latter of them less accurate) for the same thing? 146.203.126.119 (talk) 01:33, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Religion

Tupac seemed to be a philosophical individual. I thought he might be a Muslim, and heard this mentioned in his music. Most biographical articles mention a religous background. This may help draw more pieces together about him, and give a more full encyclopedic entry if his faith upbriging is mentioned. After all many of his pieces speak poetically about god, life, and death. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.64.176.126 (talk) 04:30, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

2pac has been called a latent Muslim. The term Diest would probally be appropriate too. His father Mutulu Shakur is Muslim as many of his elders in the Black Power Movement adopted the faith in lieu of thier revolutionary tendicies. $indbad (talk) 08:03, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

"Sightings"/Conspiracies

I know some may consider it vulgar, but shouldn't there be some mention of all of the conpsiracy theories surrounding his death; there must be coniderable amount of documentation. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I am saying it's interesting, and there should be sufficient documentation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.237.8.197 (talk) 00:21, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

I agree. The allegations regarding Shakur faking his death are were prevalent enough in the mainstream media, and speculation was provided by notable figures such as Chuck D. 91.216.105.21 (talk) 10:49, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
I also agree. Leaving out the speculations by the main stream media and his contemporaries of a conspiracy but including the Rolling Stone raking of one of the best selling dead artists with much about his posthumous success delimitates the discussion and resources that attribute some of that success to the large fanbase and followers that report his albums and lyrics contain 'coded' messages of his existence. This controversy is a significant component in his career history, posthumous success and is often the specific topic in reference when in pop culture. Moreover, the controversy that surrounds the marketing of his posthumous releases as a deliberate campaign to exploit and further this theory cannot be properly addressed or understood without this subject being broached. What is the reason for it's omittance? 173.6.26.210 (talk) 16:13, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Edit request from Jimenez209, 24 April 2010

{{editsemiprotected}} Tupac sold over 37.5 records according to the guiness book of world records published a few years ago. His album sales surpassed the 75 million mark. I feel it is unjust to display a lower number of sales, he should be rewarded for his work, for his sales, and for his legacy, I request an edit to this please, it would only be correct. Jimenez209 (talk) 08:20, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

If you could supply us with details - the full title of the book, the date of publication or edition number, the ISBN, publisher, and anything else that might help us track it down - then we may be able to help. If you can supply these details, please reinstate the request. I cannot make the edit for now, without a clearer source. We might have to check the figure too; figures published by reliable sources may need to be verified with certification databases to avoid inflated figures - often a problem with record sales. I can't make the edit, for now; sorry.  Chzz  ►  11:08, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

The women

According to the article at 11:10 pm they stopped at a red light and the shooting happened at 11:15? It was red for 5 minutes? I would also like to point out the improbability of the existence of the car with the girls. Although it would indeed be worthy to a man of his profile to be chatting up girls right before his death there is no proof it's happened that way. According to reference, the information was taken from the site Thugz-Network.com and no matter how hard I'm looking at it, it does not seem to be a valid source. I admit if I were to make a movie about his death I would put the girls in, but I don't think that is how it happened. No other sources indicate the existence of the girls. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Q Plung (talkcontribs) 16:09, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

legal history conflicts with itself

The shooting of the six year old is mentioned twice. The first time, it's listed as a stray bullet after someone dropped a gun and then Mopreme fired into the crowd. The article first says that this bullet killed him. The second time when discussing the wrongful death suit, the article against describes the shooting, but attributes it to a fight between Tupac's entourage and a rival group, and then says that ballistics show it wasn't even the bullet from that gun. Which is it? Whatever the truth is, the wrongful death suit and the shooting should all be discussed in the same paragraph, but it's not. 68.173.64.65 (talk) 00:11, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

2Pac → Tupac Shakur — Since the article itself is called like that and all the categories, the specific songs should be named like this as well. In one case, I have changed "single" to "song" because that's common. I put it here because it's all related to 2Pac/Tupac Shakur and I think that interested people or wikiprojects will more likely see it here rather than on all the album articles. Marin City manslaughter

The Marin City shooting summary is, IMO, not NPOV. As currently written, it says "Someone picked up the gun and a bullet dislodged." A bullet doesn't dislodge by itself....it is fired. This gun was actively fired 3 times. From the source listed: "By that sunny August afternoon in 1992, Shakur was well into the profitable role of gangsta, even one who fumbled and lost his gun during an argument. "Get the gun!" Shakur shouted to half-brother Maurice Harding. Harding, the police would say, fired three to six times. No one in the immediate crowd was hit. "The boy was 100 yards away," said Small."

It is oddly worded as is, and done so IMO in order to take blame away from Tupac and his friends. A young boy lost his life due to reckless shooting of a gun, and now it is worded to sound like the gun went off once, accidentally. Agree/disagree? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.56.205.8 (talk) 00:40, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

I think quite a lot and 2Pac's article is incomplete, "Associated Acts" missing many, like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Ice-T (even made songs together like "Last Wordz" and even a live show) , and The Notorious BIG

Moreover also the place where it says "Genre" you should be put instead of "Hip hop", put many of its subgenres as "West Coast hip hop," gangsta rap ", etc. Or, Maybe just put next to "gangsta rap." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.112.21.189 (talk) 20:13, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

  • pac's life 500,000 (1 million worldwide)
  • double disk 1 million counts as 2 million by the RIAA

If you don't count the double disk his record sales would be 75 million but aren't double disks suppose to be counted in the record sales? So he technically sold 222 million records worldwide and 80 million in the United States (Example: The Notorious B.I.G.'s second double album "Life After Death" sold 5 million in 2000 and was certified Diamond status 5*2=10 10 million records sold is Diamond status)

I think you're getting it all wrong. All Eyez on Me sold 4.5 million in the United States. That's why it is certified 9x Platinum by the RIAA. That's one example. You're quadruple doubling everything in your numbers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.243.148 (talk) 02:49, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

1992 Shooting Discrepancy

In the Legal Issues section, there are two different stories given for the incident that resulted in the boy's death in 1992; the third paragraph and the last paragraph. The third paragraph says Tupac dropped the gun, someone picked it up and a bullet dislodged. The last paragraph says it was a stray bullet from a shootout. The last paragraph's sources don't have links to the articles. The source cited in the third paragraph says that Tupac's half-brother picked up the gun and fired 3-6 times. So.. what we have in this Wikipedia article: One story that contradicts the source it cites, and another story that contradicts both the first story and the first story's source. What's going on here and why has no one caught it? Brinkley32 (talk) 08:55, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Has three sources: http://www.archaeology.org/0403/abstracts/sands.html http://ilbonito.wordpress.com/2007/11/12/whispers-in-the-sand-a-message-from-a-lost-civilization/ http://www.wargs.com/other/shakur.html

Only the last source (which is self-published) makes any mention of Tupac's ancestry but says nothing about his lineage to Africa. The second two sources are about the Garamantes, but make no mention of Tupac being a descendant. Between the three of them we have, at best, original research. I am going to remove them until these dubious facts can be verified.Scoundr3l (talk) 06:19, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

MC Hammer

I do alot of edits on Hammer's articles and find it hard to believe that he's not mentioned on the 2Pac page since they were close friends, recorded together, was given a song by Pac that Hammer later recorded, was with him the night he was shot in Vegas and died (a reason Hammer turned to ministry), was a part of the Hammer movie (about his career/life), signed to Death Row together, was an associated act, etc. etc. Just wasn't sure if there was any intentional reason to exclude him or if that could be incorporated throughout topics/sections, if nothing else listed as an associated act. All info is sourced/cited on Hammer's page or album/song articles by MC. I can log in / create account to do so if no one else gets to it. Just an "fyi". Thanks, have a nice day and happy holidays... 63.131.4.149 (talk) 11:07, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

The rape section

The language in this section makes it seem as though there were some doubt as to 2Pac's guilt. I think the text needs to be reworded to reflect the fact that 2pac was convicted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.87.101.173 (talk) 20:43, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

First, His name is Tupac, 2pac is a persona/stage name and has little, if not nothing to do with the man's real personality. Secondly, the language is neutral because this is an encyclopedic entry, so must remain impartial, regardless of the issue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.209.219.74 (talk) 04:31, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Done I decided to remove the birth name field from the infobox-template instead. That seemed sensible since it's covered in the Early life section, plus the refs (Coroner's report refers to it as an "aka" and other site doesn't appear to be that reliable) are ambiguous. Tupac was obviously engaged in with rappers, producers, and other figures throughout his career (Bad Boy Records, Delores Tucker, Haitian Jack, Mobb Deep, etc.). I was coming here to say the same thing, obviously prompted by the prank played against PBS. To be clear, in no way do I think Tupac is alive. He quite clearly isn't. But a large number of people believe that he is, and I think it's a rather relevant aspect of his "legacy" so it would make sense to discuss it briefly in that section while of course pointing out that these are conspiracy theories (or whatever term we want to use) that do not seem to have any basis in fact. I could pull some stuff from Dyson's Holler if You Hear Me--which I never finished because, frankly, I think it sucks--since Dyson does talk a bit about the belief that Pac is still alive toward the end of the book. The cultural impact of this belief is demonstrated by the prank on PBS but also by this well-known little sketch from Chappelle's Show, and no doubt other things as well (a couple of specific mentions seem worthwhile).
If there are no objections I might add some brief material along these lines--it certainly speaks to the strength of Pac's legacy among his fans and is therefore relevant to a bio article. --Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 22:36, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Thug Life

The comment, "The group usually performed without Shakur" isn't proven. The group Thug Life was known to tour with Tupac and perform as backup vocalists from time to time; for example they did so on The Arsenio Hall Show in 1994 when they performed Pain with fellow West Coast rapper Stretch. There is no evidence to suggest (i.e. video or media documented proof) that Thug Life toured without Shakur at anytime. Also the source doesn't make any sense since nowhere on the album does it say that Thug Life performed without Shakur, nor is it stated within the music. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.201.58 (talk) 04:19, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

2Pac article [Things wrong]

I think there should be a better photo of 2Pac honestly. 2Pac's record sales have been outdated (he sold 75 million worldwide in 2002), I remember first reading this article saying he had 75 million record sales worldwide when I was still in elementary school, his current record sales worldwide are at least no greater than 100 million. There should be changes to the article (some stuff in the article are just unnecessary details. Example: Tha Outlawz and there should be more detail on his early rapping career) so that this article could be a featured article candidate someday again and hopefully a featured article.

Thug Life Citation

Hi, I posted a topic in here (discussion section) a few months back regarding the comment "[Thug Life] usually performed without Shakur." The comment is cited but if one actually looks at the citation, they would notice it makes no sense. The citation lists "Thug Life: Volume 1" as the source, but that is an audio CD that does not state in the album cover jacket text, nor within the lyrical content, that this is true. In other words, the source provided is false and in no way supports this claim.

Thug Life never performed without Shakur and rarely toured as ensemble with Shakur. A good example is Shakur's "Live at the House of Blues" Concert DVD, in which members of Tha Outlawz including two former Thug Life members (Mopreme and Big Syke) performed as backup vocalists. Another example is when Shakur performed the song "Pain" on the Arsenio Hall Show with Thug Life and Stretch in 1993.

Perhaps the author of this section thought that Tha Outlawz were the same thing as Thug Life, since Tha Outlawz did tour without Shakur and a few members were in both groups, but this is not the case. I stress that this error please be changed, it is a strange claim to make with no evidence and skews Shakur's reputation as a pivotal member of both groups. When Shakur passed away, Thug Life disbanded and Tha Outlawz went on hiatus until 1999. In other words without Shakur, any previously affiliated groups could no longer function. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.38.22.58 (talk) 17:27, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Tupac did not believe in the 'Illuminati', as he explains here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAKfS5lMm68 5:30-615

His point being if the illuminati were real, how did people find out about their plan? How do people in jail of all people have the illuminatis plan? So he was out to kill what in his mind was bullshit.

The claim that "The album title has the word killuminati because Tupac wanted to kill the illuminati with his songs (hence the name). is, at the very least, not supported by any corroborated evidence, and is disputed.

This isn't big problem but this says that he was most likely deist as his religion and it says he didn't believe in an after life. This should be edited to say that he was most likely christian because he had a cross with a bible verse on his back and he talks about God and other christian things in his songs. And he has also has hinted that he believes in heaven and hell and some songs, so the part where it says he didn't believe in an afterlife needs to be removed. The part where it says he doesn't believe in organized religion is likely false to so that needs to be taken out. You also need a good picture of 2pac too.

What...?

"He believed in Karma, but rejected a literal afterlife and organized religion.[32]" - The source is showing an interview where I think many will agree... I don't think he's talking about an actual afterlife, nor is he "rejecting" organized religion. I think that's getting a little farfetched and is puting words in the horse's mouth. The sentence before says some analysis of him calls him a deist (who have a tendency to view morals and ethics in a much different way than that of this individual)... so I'm doubting anyone who knows much about deism even read the line after that (excuse my sarcasm). 98.198.83.12 (talk) 10:57, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

To whom it may concern, i wish to request a change in Tupac Amaru Shakur's Wikipedia entry. The correction being his genre, as he sang rap, and not hip-hop. Reason being that rap was created as the African-american words to fight of the oppression due to the racism of their times. Since this is what he sang, due to his mothers involvement with the Black Panthers. As of this reason, i hope to have it corrected.

The "Filmography" section needs some editing to the formatting. Two of his films were released in 1997 and a user attempted to have the column that shows the release year have 1997 cover two rows. This failed and the final row has the film title in the "Year" column, his role in the "Title" column, and miscellaneous notes in the "Role" column.

Also, the paragraph that would start two lines after the "Documentaries" headline starts directly after the "S" in "Documentaries."

COMMONNAME Երևանցի talk 01:42, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

His is more commonly know simply as "Tupac" than "Tupac Shakur". Google search results are:

"Tupac" has 4 times more results than "Tupac Shakur" and Wikipedia requires pages to be named by their most common name.--Երևանցի talk 01:42, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Support per above. Hot Stop (Edits) 13:35, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose Google searches for "Tupac" are not unambiguous. They include every source that includes "Tupac Shakur", the "Tupac Amaru", etc. Every book on the topic introduces him by his full name. Michael Eric Dyson uses Tupac Shakur in the title of the definitive book on the subject. Recognizability, Precision, and Clarity all are served by keeping "Tupac Shakur" as the title. Holla if ya hear me! SLawsonIII (talk) 18:35, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose; we use full names except where reliable sources overwhelmingly prefer the mononym. Cf. Madonna vs Beyoncé Knowles. SLawsonIII is absolutely correct about the unreliability of Google searches, and I further point out that the raw numbers of "results" reported by Google are absolutely and completely meaningless (at least once you get into four or five figures). Googling "tupac -shakur" (hiding results that include the surname) actually increases the number of reported "results" over simply "tupac" alone. That not only defies common sense, it's mathematically impossible. Powers T 02:14, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose Tupac does not refer to the musician exclusively, we need not look further than Tupac to see that. Straight results by no means take into account reliable source.--Labattblueboy (talk) 04:58, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Proposed move

Shouldn't the page be moved to "2Pac" as that was his official stage name and what he was & is best known as? KANE 20:38, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

As long as both Tupac and 2Pac are both disamb pages which link up to his full real name, then I have no issues with his main article being listed under his full name. It's not that hard to figure out, even if you only know him by his stage name. I suspect his full name is listed in album notes (but don't have one on-hand to verify).

In the infobox where it saids years active it saids 1988–1996 that is wrong and it should say 1990–1996 because he started rapping in 1990. 99.137.149.253 (talk) 20:02, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

I am willing to change it to 1989–1996, since 1989 was the year of his first concert (though not the start of his professional career), per the body text. Please change Tupac's birth name from "Tupac Amaru Shakur" to "Lesane Parish Crooks" as this is his actual birth name.

regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pany121 (talkcontribs)

The article discusses this, but it seems there is some doubt, and this may be disputed/unconfirmed by the family. I'll leave this open and hope for additional comments, because I'm not comfortable altering the infobox without some more consensus, given the apparent doubt. Thanks. Begoontalk 10:00, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
It looks like police in Las Vegas were the ones to release Tupac's real name to the media shortly after his murder, because that was the name on Tupac's driver's license and his birth name. Here is an article from the Las Vegas Sun. His birth name was also documented in the book referenced in the newspaper article. His real name was referenced in this article as well. AuthorAuthor (talk) 18:11, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
Ok, so this one isn't clear cut or easy. Thanks for the links, AuthorAuthor - helpful. Seems like this issue is a perennial here, though.
See this search in the archives of this page: [2]. Specifically, there is Talk:Tupac_Shakur/Archive_4#Tupac.27s_birth_name, and Talk:Tupac_Shakur/Archive_3#Add_2pac.27s_birth_name amongst several other related discussions in there.
It seems each time previously the rough consensus has been that we don't have a reliable source good enough to categorically state it as birth name, particularly when, quoting "his birth certificate and his official biography, written under his mother's oversight, does not mention Lesane Parish Crooks." Given all that, I'm still not happy making the change on the strength of this edit request and those links. I'm very reticent to make changes like this with that kind of history of discussion, and very little new input. But maybe I'm too careful. Let's wait for some more input?
There's also the option to just change the infobox to "Name" rather than "Birth Name" and otherwise leave it as it is, or even not have the name in the infobox - infoboxes are supposed to be an optional convenience, so if they are making things difficult or inconvenient, we can override their "usual" contents here, including field names. The article content and title could be enough, maybe, to make that infobox field unnecessary, with the existing content discussing it in the article body as it is now. If it's controversial, that might be the most sensitive way to handle it - but I'm thinking out loud here...Begoontalk 11:01, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Birth certificates are shown as proof of identity the first time a person applies for a driver's license. Thus Tupac Shakur's birth name was on his driver's license, not the name his mother later called him. Police supplied his real name to the media when Tupac was shot according to news articles I linked. Rumors on the Internet are not reliable. Should we not say he is not dead because of rumors on the web that he faked his death? I am for going with a reliable newspaper citation that states the police provided his birth name as Lesane Parish Crooks. It could be stated exactly that way in the article, with the citation. AuthorAuthor (talk) 16:01, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
I don't disagree that we can say exactly that in the article. No problem at all with saying that the police stated it, with a citation. We already have something close to that. My concern is that in the infobox it seems to take on our voice, as though we are saying it. But as I said, I'm probably too careful on biographies when anything seems controversial. That's why I wanted to wait for more input, and I'm grateful for yours. Begoontalk 16:20, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Your suggestion of putting Tupac Shakur under "Name" instead of "Birth name" in the infobox is a good solution to that issue. Thanks. AuthorAuthor (talk) 18:06, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
My preference would be to remove the birth name field from the infobox entirely and rely upon the combination of the title of the infobox and the body of the article to relate all relevant information. If someone is interested in finding his full name or birth name in a case like this, I would rather they read the article for the explanation than get disputed / borderline-inaccurate information at a glance in the infobox. --ElHef (Meep?) 20:45, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Ah, ok, well, embarrassingly, after suggesting it, I can't see an easy way to make the template display "Name" instead of "Birth Name".... I thought there would be some optional general purpose parameter we could use, but I can't find it. Is everyone comfortable with removing the birth name field with a note to not re-add without referring to this discussion/new consensus? That would still leave the article title, and the Name as Infobox title above the image in the infobox, as "obvious" name labels (plus it's in the image caption). If that's ok - then the only remaining question is if AuthorAuthor feels the content in the body could be better worded, in the light of his references. Begoontalk 02:50, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Good idea to remove the birth name field with a note, Begoon. I am happy to rework the content and open to suggestions for how you think it could be better worded to reflect this. Thanks. AuthorAuthor (talk) 02:59, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
There's this: [3] - look at page 20. I think the only hard evidence of the name I've seen is the linked coroner's report in the article as a reference - [4] where it's listed as an aka. I don't like the sentence about his mother using the name because of fear of attack because it's just sourced to this: [5]. I'd be inclined to try to keep it as simple as we can, without speculating, saying that the police released information including that name, and leave people to draw their own conclusions, since it's not up to us to draw conclusions for them. I'd love an actual link to what someone in the family has officially stated, but maybe I'm too blind to find it. There's a lot of stuff that just seems speculative in every search I do. That's about all I've got so far. Begoontalk 03:54, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
That works for me, to keep it simple and remove the statement as to why his mother named him that since there is no reliable source to cite it with. AuthorAuthor (talk) 04:08, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Ok. I did this: [6]. Please feel free to tweak/edit it. Thanks. Begoontalk 04:22, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
