Joey Jordisons Departure

There is much speculation about Jordisons departure, however he is shocked about this news and Slipknot have said that he departed, so do should he be classed as a former or current member because of this? They have both stated that they are going to talk about it, its like they are both confused about the situation themselves, they both say different things. - SilentDan297 talk 17:25, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

In the paragraph discussing Joey Jordison leaving the band, 'blindsighted' should be spelled 'blindsided.' 174.46.79.130 (talk) 21:03, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

There's no reference that says Donnie Steele left because of his Christian beliefs. In mfkr1's interview, he said "I had a lot on my mind spiritually and other areas of my life that needed attention. http://mfkr1.com/donnieinterview.php

John Green

At Talk:Slipknot (band)/Archive 8 there was a mention of John Green maybe being an ex-member of the band, but no sources provided. Does anyone know more about this, as there is a da:John Green (Guitarist) which makes this assertion. John Vandenberg (chat) 07:50, 15 May 2014 (UTC)

Edit Semi - Protected 2014-08-01

Slipknot have released their first single of the upcoming album, the succesor of All Hope Is Gone, "The Negative One" on their official Website and are due to release the video for the same singel 2014-08-05 on the same webpage. The stagepersonell and the new albums name are still to be confirmed at this point.

Unconfirmed members

The identities of the bassist and drummer are purely rumor and speculation at this point and their inclusion violate several Wikipedia rules. They should be removed.--70.192.30.168 (talk) 03:00, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Dispute for changing "heavy metal" to "metal" in article lead

My position on this is as follows: the article's lead was Slipknot is an American heavy metal band from Des Moines, Iowa when it was reviewed and accepted as a good article. Also, the statement adheres to the WP:Lead rules therefore I do not see any reason as to why it should be changed to Slipknot is an American metal band from Des Moines, Iowa. Kevon100 Talk! Timeline on Slipknot article

There has been constant adding of the band members' timeline to the Slipknot band article which I disagree of. There is a featured article specifically devoted to the members of Slipknot which includes a timeline. Therefore I find it unnecessary to have said timeline on the band page itself. The band page has a members listing both current and former which suffices for providing information on such. Kevon100 Talk! Mail 00:27, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

I agree, the timeline is already on the separate article dedicated to the members of this band anyway, no need to repeat this information here. SilentDan (talk) 11:30, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Current Bass Player

I have come across an article on the LambGoat website regarding the current Bass Player with Slipknot and they suggest, using a still of the video footage, that the tattoo on the left hand would suggest it is Alessandro "Vman" Venturella from Krokodil and has been a guitar tech for a couple of bands including Mastodon, Deftones, and Anthrax.

This is a link to the article in case it is sufficient enough for the Bands page to be updated with the new information: http://lambgoat.com/blog/518/and-the-new-bassist-of-Slipknot-is- — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.122.253 (talk) 16:39, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

It is entirely possible for more than one individual to sport the same (or a similar) tattoo in the same place on their body; simply assuming it Venturella and placing his name in the article is Original Research. As it stands, until we either 1) get confirmation from a known member of the band of the bassist's (and by extension, the drummer's) identity, or 2) we see his name on the album sleeve, neither Venturella or Weinberg should be placed in this article. --Jasca Ducato (talk) 16:44, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

It is actually two tattoos I should have said, one on the back of the hand, and then lettering running across the knuckles of the fingers on his left hand but I see your point about it needing to be actually confirmed from the band or the two musicians involved before being stated as fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.122.253 (talk) 17:13, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Band members debacle

Hey there – I've been modifying the list of band members and timelines of several bands' articles for a while now (namely Metallica, Machine Head, Aerosmith, etc.), and I've found a solution for Slipknot as well. I've modified the band members so that they're in order of instrument (as with most of these types of articles) and I've modified the timeline so that it looks just like the others that I've done, and so that it is tidier and more accurate than the one found here. I've also done a little research and found that Venturella and Weinberg have pretty much been all but confirmed as replacements for Gray and Jordison, and so I've added them in as well. If you don't believe my credentials, look here. I put a lot of work into this, so I hope you accept it. With kind regards, 4TheWynne (talk) 06:58, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

Band members/timeline/MFKR

Hey guys – I've got a similar discussion going on the Linkin Park talk page, so I thought I'd start one here just to take care of a couple of disputes. First up, I believe that it would be better to list the band members (in the band members section at the very least) in order of instrument, just like with about 15 other band articles that I edit. This way, the members are in the same order as what is reflected on, say, your average timeline. With the timeline, I don't know why it's continually being reformatted and I'd like it to stay the way I did it, because it is the easiest version to read. However, as there is no guideline as to how this should appear, I'd like to see what you guys think. Here are most of the band articles whose band members and/or timeline sections are my work:

All of these articles have had these sections fully or mostly edited by me (Metallica is timeline only). I know most of them might not be classified as good articles, or need work, but that's irrelevant. I hope you guys understand and see my point of view.

The other thing that I wanted to discuss is whether Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. should appear in the discography section. Now, I'd like to point out a couple of things. First of all, it is said that the band considers it to be demo – despite initially writing it with the intention of it being their debut album – as well as that it was self-released, and the band only sold the last few thousand copies through -ismist Recordings after signing up to them. Second of all, the self-titled album is said to have been their debut studio album, and the albums following this have been labelled as "second, third, fourth..." (even the discography article doesn't list it as a proper studio album). Third of all (and this might throw things up a bit), Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) is quite obviously called "Vol. 3" for a reason. Unless several references are provided that can prove otherwise, I don't see why "MFKR" should be included in the discography section. And comparing this to other bands' opinions on their own discographies is irrelevant. Slipknot is Slipknot; Slipknot isn't other bands. Apparently taking it out would be "vandalism". And so, in regards to this, I'd also like to see what you guys think, and that you understand and see my point of view.

I'd also like to quickly add that I'd also like my other edits to stand, because all I was doing was fixing up little technical issues that needed fixing (such as fixing up titles), which have been fixed. With regards, 4TheWynne (talk) 07:29, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
