The Leak edit

So, Superbot has publicly acknowledged the leak. That said, do we add the leaked content to the article, or leave it off? Last time this happened, with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, we decided to add the characters since Capcom had acknowledged their legitimacy. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 16:29, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'd say it's fine to add the leaked information. Just add that SuperBot (Chan Park) acknowledged the leak in the development section; maybe add something in the characters section, but that might not be necessary. WANI ♪♫♪ 16:43, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Crash Bandicoot has been leaked in an image from the game. http://playstationallstarsbattleroyale.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Bandichild/Crash_Bandicoot_Leak%3F%3F%3F#comm-8526. I highly doubt its been Photoshopped and looks completely legit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.182.23.235 (talk) 09:11, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Actually, hate to burst your bubble, but that image has already been proven fake. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 13:36, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I don't know... It look real to me. But I guess time will have to tell huh? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.182.23.235 (talk) 09:11, 3 August 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.15.137.20 (talk) Reply

What about the Ryu, Jin, Kazuya leak? are we going to add anything on them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.182.23.235 (talk) 15:27, 9 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

No. Putting my own skepticism over the supposed website leak aside, Superbot and Sony have not yet confirmed or denied the leak, unlike the stuff found in the beta files, which Superbot says are legit. We don't add rumors unless we get confirmation of their accuracy from the company in question. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 17:37, 9 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
And, true to form, the "leak" has been debunked, courtesy of the community manager himself. THIS is why we don't like to jump the gun. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 00:19, 10 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Delayed edit

This should be covered in development. --JDC808 (talk) 02:31, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I also think there should be more coverage of the beta (e.g. when did it start? who was invited? how many invitations were sent out? how long will it last?). --JDC808 (talk) 02:50, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I just saw that this info is in Marketing. However, it should be moved to development (as a sub-section) as betas are to test the game, not necessarily market the game (though it can help). --JDC808 (talk) 02:54, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Went ahead and took care of this stuff. --JDC808 (talk) 05:50, 18 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Recent edits (August 18/19, 2012) edit

Though yes, a gameplay image is better suited for the Gameplay, it can be problemsome if the section is small and squeezes the text (as it had done on my screen). When the section becomes larger, or once the Plot section is added, it can be added to either of those. As for Superbot logo, it's really useless on this page. It does not help the reader understand the game itself in anyway and is better served at Superbot's article.

The information about the delay is better served in Development for its quoted text involving developmental issues. It can be mentioned that it was originally scheduled for October in Release, but that's all that would be needed in that section. As for Release section, it is never a sub-section of Development. If articles are doing this, they're wrong. Release, or some variant of the word, should be a main section, and Marketing should be a sub-section under Release. Speaking of release, the lead shouldn't spell out every release date (that's what Release section is for). Since it's scheduled for a worldwide release in November, just saying November 2012 is enough for the lead. And the Cross-Buy info, what you added mainly just needed rewording (didn't necessarily mean to revert that). --JDC808 (talk) 04:00, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Characters edit

There appear to be a number of characters listed in the table that haven't been confirmed:

  • Nariko
  • Raiden
  • Sir Daniel Fortesque

I also believe that "Evil Cole" is just an extension of Cole, and not a separate character. These characters don't appear on the official website, and if they have been confirmed elsewhere, there needs to be an appropriate link. 86.158.152.243 (talk) 19:43, 28 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Then explain this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE211LiBLps 85.210.179.59 (talk) 20:27, 28 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
We've been over this. There IS an appropriate link; those characters are from the beta leak, which Superbot confirmed the legitimacy of and which has been 100% accurate down the last detail, including the inclusion of Ratchet, Dante, Sackboy, Spike, and Evil Cole. Also, Evil Cole is treated as a different character; the only reason he's not listed on the site is because they haven't updated it with the information from his reveal yet. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:32, 28 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Cool, just one thing, unless I've comepletely missed something, shouldn't these links be added to the character section? 86.153.82.26 (talk) 00:42, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Like I said, it's already covered in the leak section. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 03:32, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speaking of characters, I don't think it's necessary to document EVERY time a character/stage is announced in the development section. Generally speaking, other fighting game articles don't do so, and it just seems like a lot of extraneous detail. Unless someone has a good reason to retain said information, I'll be removing it shortly. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 03:32, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

A good reason is that the character table lists leaked characters as opposed to officially confirmed characters. The announcements can be documented, and then minimalized in some way after the game's release. --JDC808 23:53, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Also, links for the officially confirmed characters should be cited in character section by characters, otherwise, it's an unsourced section. --JDC808 23:56, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Again, no other article documents every single character announcement; usually that distinction is given exclusively to characters who have some special significance, like Snake and Sonic in SSBB. And the "leaked" character argument isn't going to hold water for much longer, since after PAX, there'll only be one leaked character that hasn't been revealed. Also, the section isn't unsourced because the whole table is sourced to the game's official website, which lists all the officially confirmed characters. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 00:41, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay, and I fixed the link in the character's section. It was previously just going to the main website, it now goes directly to the roster. --JDC808 02:30, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Aaaaaaaaand Sir Dan and Nariko have been revealed, so every character mentioned in the beta leak has been shown off now. Thus, the list is complete as of now, and there's no reason to remove any of the characters currently on it. That said, please remember: unless we get some manner of confirmation of legitimacy from SuperBot, like they did with the beta leak, any future "leaked" characters are to be left off the table. If there's anybody left to reveal, wait for official gameplay trailers/screenshots/developer walkthroughs to surface on sites like IGN, GameSpot, etc. so we have something to cite. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:01, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Characters (reported) edit

There are some characters that are reported (not speculated) to be in this game, but we cannot add anything on the article as long SuperBot dont confirm them, so I'm moving the text from the article to here for safe keeping:

In late August 2012, it was reported that Sony's old mascot, Crash Bandicoot, might make it into the roster of PlayStation All-Stars. A users from NeoGAF grabbed a Twitter conversation between a fan and rights holder Activision's official support feed, before it was deleted.[1]

On September 7, 2012, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee developer Oddworld Inhabitants explained that SuperBot Entertainment is yet to get in touch after certain sectors of Sony expressed big interest for protagonist Abe's inclusion. Oddworld Inhabitants development director Stewart Gilray explained: "I was over at Sony America and they were definitely up for it, but the developer hasn't gotten back to us."[2]

That's not "reported to be in the game"; that's the fans saying they want X character, and the character's creator/rights holder saying "yeah, that'd be cool." To assume based on those conversations that they're in in a HUGE leap. Hell, the Activision twitter guy even said later that he doesn't know if Crash is in or not; he just agreed that it'd be cool to see Crash in the game. Besides, I think the whole "SuperBot has yet to talk to us" bit is a pretty clear indication that we're not getting Abe on disc, and if he were to be DLC, it'd be a long time before anything came of it -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:43, 8 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Cover Art edit

Hey the cover art needs to be changed. The one on the page was just the placeholder cover art for the European version. If you watch the PAL TV Spot, the final PAL/European cover art can be seen at the end of the trailer. Thought you should know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.215.150.121 (talk) 09:12, 7 November 2012 (UTC) http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=486646&page=388 you can see the boxart here — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.215.150.121 (talk) 20:26, 7 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Character table split? edit

Is there a possibility to split the character table into 2 tables with 10 characters each, as the recently revealed opening shows two pairs of characters fighting each other in this order:
Jak and Daxter vs. Ratchet and Clank
Nathan Drake vs. Sly Cooper
Fat Princess vs. Evil Cole McGrath
Sir Daniel Fortesque vs. Radec
Sackboy vs. Big Daddy
Nariko vs. Dante
Heihachi vs. Toro
Spike vs. Parappa
Cole McGrath vs. Raiden
and
Sweet Tooth vs. Kratos

Any ideas? Visokor (talk) 10:59, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

release date edit

release date for japan is now 31st of jan next year. I'd edit the page but it doesn't let me. source/proof: http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/psallstars/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fygyyu8gjhyu89uyg8u (talkcontribs) 03:21, 10 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Lock the page edit

Maybe you guys should lock the page. All I see is people complaining about Crash and Spyro not being in. This is going to keep happening.

NA vs EU Cover Art edit

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this game developed by SCEA's studios? In that case, shouldn't the article feature the North American cover art since this is a North American developed game? In my opinion with video game articles, I feel that the cover art and the spelling of words should be based on the game's country of origin (if it's a non-English country of origin, then whatever consensus is should be used). For example, the God of War series. It's developed by Santa Monica, which is an SCEA studio (and co-developer on All-Stars) and the articles use the NA cover arts and American English for spelling. --JDC808 07:11, 23 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page edit

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
