Is "Compleat" (normally complete) also intentionally misspelled? ~ Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:34, 2005 August 9 (UTC)

Yes. See [1] among other sources (I also used to play this game quite a bit and until a year ago had an Apple emulator version for Mac). 23skidoo 00:18, 10 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
It's likely an attempt at making the game seem "old." It is being spelled in the same way in the Declaration of Independence :"He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works..." (emphasis added). --Jwinters | [[User talk:Jwinters|Talk]] 17:20, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Speaking of mispellings, good catch whoever fixed "Sargasso Sea". Even though I was the one who created and uploaded the screen capture that clearly says "Sargalo" I never noticed it! 23skidoo 21:33, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow! I played this game when I was a kid, and I still remember it as "Sargasso Sea." Good catch, Screenshot Person! BonnySwan (talk) 15:57, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

What needs clean-up? edit

Would the person who placed the clean-up tag on this article please heed the instructions on the tag and indicate on this talk page what needs to be cleaned up? Otherwise, the tag may as well be removed. 23skidoo 01:45, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

As no one has responded to the above query, having the clean-up tag is meaningless unless a particular reason is stated regarding what needs to be cleaned up. I'm removing the clean-up tag for the time being. 23skidoo 19:59, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:OdysseyTitleScreen.jpg edit

Image:OdysseyTitleScreen.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

File:OdysseyGame.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion edit

An image used in this article, File:OdysseyGame.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 3 December 2011

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review
