Several articles edit

This page should be split into the respective taxa and made into a disambiguation page. -Craig Pemberton 20:02, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

That's certainly one way to handle it. Another way would be to merge this page with the primary topic fir Mud turtle and then add a hatnote link to the secondary topic. It's on my to do list :) Regards, SunCreator (talk) 04:12, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Merge with eastern mud turtle or Kinosternon edit

See Talk:Eastern mud turtle#Merge proposal (please add comments over there, not here)

This page is a complete mess and a WP:CONTENTFORK. It should be merged. The problem is how it should be merged. Most of the text is clearly specific to the eastern mud turtle (arguing for a merge with that article), but the current article name "mud turtle" is synomous with Kinosternon (arguing for a merge with that article). Disregarding all the formating issues in the current article, the best would be to:

  1. Merge this article into eastern mud turtle. "Mud turtle" now incorrectly redirects to "eastern mud turtle", but all text specific to the latter species is in that article.
  2. Move Kinosternon to "mud turtle" over redirect.

Agree I believe it would be best to merge the relevant information from this page into the eastern mud turtle since the majority of it appears to be about that species. Please also ensure that the link to Pelomedusidae is removed from the taxobox as that family has nothing to do with this species. Any additional information that is more relevant at a more generic level can be added to the Kinosternon genus page. Cheers, Faendalimas talk 17:36, 14 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
