Edit War edit

TzarN64, Gerald Waldo Luis, this needs to be properly discussed, not instead sent back and forth between edit summaries (we have exceeded WP:3RR). Please discuss this issue here. Panini! 🥪 13:45, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Panini!, agree, apologies for the war. Tzar, can you please come here and discuss the changes so we can reach a consensus? I've been urging you to do so but you never seem to heed it. The article will never improve if we continue undoing. GeraldWL 14:03, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Let me weigh in a little bit: first, always check what's being removed before reverting edits this size, because other undeniably helpful edits may be lost in the process. For example, the short summary has been removed a handful of times, plus the lead paragraph, with gives a general overview of the Wii and its streaming services. These reverts should be done manually, considering the range of edits in between.
It seems the majority of these edits come from the "Information" section in the table. I'm not against this section being here, as it gives a brief overview of what the service was used for, but it shouldn't get out of hand. Most of the additions Tzar is adding in this portion are the release date and discontinued information, and since this is already listed in the cells next to it, it appears to be redundant. I think this section can be used for a description of the purpose of the service. For example, one of these additions is the Wii no Ma, which reads "Wii no Ma is a Japan-only video game that allows you to watch movies, videos and more." This is going in the right direction; although it does sound promotional, and it is brief and isn't too descriptive, this type of information is important for readers. Panini!, I initially removed most of them and left some that I find to be helpful; I might have accidentally removed all of that. I can understand your position there, and honestly, I'd like to see it work. I have zero ideas on how to remove the promotional connotation, though; if Tzar gives some advice or words it would probably help. GeraldWL 14:27, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
