Sortable edit

Good start. Did you list all of those manually or copy a list from somewhere? I tried making it sortable but it didn't really work because of the two-row headings. I was thinking of a layout like this:

Pack name First released Australia Europe North America Costumes Stickers Levels Notes
Metal Gear Solid Level Pack 2008-12-2424 December 2008 2008-12-2424 December 2008 2008-12-2424 December 2008 2008-12-2424 December 2008 No Yes Yes
Metal Gear Solid Costume Pack 2008-12-2424 December 2008 2008-12-2424 December 2008 2008-12-2424 December 2008 2008-12-2424 December 2008 Yes No No Custumes also available individually

Also, is the Japanese date notable for English-made content. And would it be better to list the actual packs rather than the individual costumes as I've done above? Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 20:06, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was a bit of both. Copied the list from LittleBigPlanetoid (hence it being out of date), cleaned it and then put it through my spreadsheet that automatically adds all the pipes and carriage returns and formatting to it - A damn sight easier than typing it all.
No need for the Japs or Asia. Perhaps just a small section stating that some content has been made for Japan only. Have got no problem with YES instead of tick as long as they're centre aligned. I'll have another go at getting the Planetoid stuff with the dates intact tomorrow. Will save loads of typing. - X201 (talk) 21:24, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok. This seems to work well. I think we should list them alphabetically by default and then the reader can sort them by date if wanted. Are you able to do this with your magic spreadsheet? Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 09:48, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yep, no problem :-) I'm going to change the font size to match the GH list one, it looks nice and will help the dates fit on a single line - X201 (talk) 09:58, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
One other thing, is it possible to have the table contents left-aligned but keep the headings and the yes/no columns centred? It doesn't really look right having the columns centred - particularly the 'Pack name' and 'Notes' ones. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 10:19, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
There is a way to push them left, I just need to get the syntax correct. - X201 (talk) 11:31, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Numbers instead of Yes edit

Like it. Good thinking Batman :) - X201 (talk) 08:07, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not so keen on the N/A though. - X201 (talk) 08:16, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Weird. I'm sure I replied to this a couple of hours ago. Anyway, the reason I put in N/A was because I thought the empty cell might imply that it's unknown whereas having something in there shows that it is KNOWN that there are none of those items in the pack. It doesn't really matter though. I'm not fussed either way. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 11:46, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ah!, I'm with you. The N/As make sense. - X201 (talk) 11:47, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Other appearances edit

This [1] has got me thinking. Would it be worth adding a section about Sackboy's appearances in other games like Rag Doll Kung Fu and Everybody's Golf? - X201 (talk) 13:19, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is already mentioned in LittleBigPlanet (at least it was last time I looked). I don't really think it should be in this one though. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 13:24, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Title? edit

Pretty much ready to move to the main Wiki now I think. What's the title going to be? List of LittleBigPlanet downloadable content packs? Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 21:44, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Seems to do the job :) - X201 (talk) 08:19, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've just thought. Might be a better idea to move it, that way the edit history and discussion pages will stay intact with it. That's if its possible to move a user page to an article page. - X201 (talk) 09:06, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Same here. Hence "move to the main Wiki" ;) Only one way to find out if it's possible... Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 09:37, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Great Work edit

Great work on the table. Looking very good. The main reson I was here was to re-check the date for the histroy pack (I nearly cried when I saw the date was july last time I looked and thought I was going insane) but I see it is august now phew. Also you have the Marvel pack as a TBA, is there enough info to add the Disney pack to the list for a TBA also? I have seen pictures of the Captain Jack off Pirates. Also there is the Beta tester vest and the bug spray outfit for getting rid of bugs in the beta tests, not sure if there is sufficient info for them to be added as well. Dark verdant (talk) 08:25, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. The History pack date was a typo on my part - well-spotted by X201. I don't see any reason why the Disney and Beta costumes can't be added. The only pictures of the Disney pack that I've seen are off-screen photos from E3. Were any other details released? The beta items could follow the same listing method as the Prize Crown. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 09:08, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I can't find any citations for any of them, the only links I can find for them link back to a French forum and that forum's FlickR account. - X201 (talk) 18:21, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I repeat the praise for great work on this but I have a couple suggestions to help tighten this up and make it a possibly featured list:

  • I don't think the "first release" column is needed. I realize that one region did not get all the content first, but this column is excessive, and I'd leave it as the three region columns.
  • I'd almost leave out the levels column since only three packs so far have them, but moreso than the other "additional features" like materials and music, I think the levels are important. Maybe if you do rid the "first release" column, there will be more space and this wouldn't feel so clustered.
  • If there is space, you may want to consider one additional column to add in for "Add'l Content" , which you are spelling out in the last column. This may be just a "yes" or "N/A" as opposed to numbers, but then one can sort and easily see which packs add more than just costumes, stickers, and levels.
  • For FA, you will likely need two sections: something on MM's rationale or development plans on the content packs preceeding the table, and something about the reception of the packs. The latter will be more difficult as likely it will be scattered input on specific packs, but if you can maybe point to sales or the like, it will help. I'm not absolutely sure that you need these sections to pass FA, but it will help significantly.

This is still well on the way to being good, just a few points to consider. --MASEM (t) 18:35, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the feedback Masem. The idea of the first released column was to provide a way of sorting them chronologically, disregarding region. Although as nearly all of the packs are released simultaniously it might not be necessary. @X201, there's an announcement about the beta costumes in the LBP Beta forum but it's a private forum so it can't be linked-to, annoyingly. New Column: "Expired" edit

It'd be nice to have a column that says Expired and of course it would be filled out with Yes or No.

Additionally, prices would be nice to put up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.23.144.233 (talk) 20:37, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't think wikipedia allows pricing information. It is an encylopedia after all not a buyers guide. Not sure about the extra column though, especially as they may be back when the time for the events comes round again (eg christmas pack at christmas, valentines pack etc)Dark verdant (talk) 07:29, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

PSP T-Shirt edit

Just noticed that the new DLC has not been added yet, was the PSP release T-Shirt. I have absolutely no idea how to add things to a table though or I would do it myself. 205.204.1.29 (talk) 13:24, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

  Done - X201 (talk) 16:33, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I tried to clean the entry up a bit, X201. I changed the name, and added some additional notes about it's different pricing in Hong Kong. Oh, and I made two edits. The first was not made under my account name, so it will show as my IP address. --Habstinator (talk) 03:53, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removing date columns edit

Discussion from User Talk:ChimpanzeeUK

Hey guys. I reckon it would be better to make it more like the PS3 comparison table (for the regions and dates). Because having a separate column for each region is a bit much in my opinion. Ffgamera - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 11:18, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I like the sound of that. I've always thought that the comments section looked scrunched up on the right and side. If the dates were combined into one column it would make more room for the comments text. 'll try and knock up and example - X201 ::(talk) 10:42, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Have made alternative (User:X201/sandbox) what do you think? - X201 (talk) 10:57, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Moving the discussion here from my talk page... I'm not sure about removing the individual date columns. Now that PS Store update days aren't the same, there will actually be differences between the two. We may be able to merge the EU and Australia columns into a 'PAL Region' column though? I definitely agree that something needs to be done, the Notes column looks so squashed. Another thing we might want to start thinking about is adding a 'compatibility' column to show which games the DLC works on. Everything in the list at the moment would be for 1 and 2 but once LBP2 is released we'll be adding DLC that is only compatible with LBP2. No need to add it yet but it's something to think about.
