Do we really need a nominee page? They didn't win, the winners are dulicated. A lot are red links. Surely only the winners are notible as they won (on the main page), those nominated that have their own articles (authors or publication) would have it in their article. I think nominees are also notable. They were good enough or popular enough to get nominated out of pools of thousands of other possible works eligible for the given year. That's one person's opinion. Create a template (talk) 00:19, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I clearly think it's worth keeping a complete list of the nominees, given the amount of time I've spent updating the page. Authors/creators who become widely-known often start by being nominated for awards like this, so I think the red links indicate authors who may some day be worth writing a page for. e.g. George R.R. Martin was first nominated for a Hugo in 1974. (Of course, some people get nominated once and then disappear.) The Dragons are certainly a second-tier award compared to the Hugos, Nebulas, Clarke, Seiuns, etc., but they belong to one of the largest US conventions, so they seem to me like a noteworthy snapshot of US fandom. The page currently has symbols and colours to indicate declined nominations, but we don't have anything discussing why people declined the nomination or why people might do this in general. This is confusing and should be discussed on the page. Significa liberdade (talk) 19:52, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
