– per WP:NCP's WP:MONONYM: "Similarly, don't use a first name (even if unambiguous) for an article title if the last name is known and fairly often used". End of. Tibbydibby (talk) 23:30, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

  • Support I tried enforcing this during the Drafts, but was overridden by the other editors who insisted that the stage name was far more known. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:51, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
  • Oppose: WP:COMMONAME and WP:MONONYM, which has the addition "Only if the single name is used as a true artist's name (stage name, pseudonym, etc.) can the recommendations of Nicknames, pen names, stage names, cognomens below be followed" which these people fall under. Jimin and Jungkook are mononyms these artists use as a member of BTS.
Nearly all sources used in the article list them under the mononym "Jimin" or "Jungkook" and any mention of their last name in these articles mentions it once before using the mononym or does not mention their last names at all. (This article from Billboard about Jungkook mentions his last name as a fact and does not use it again as his mononym is his stage name. The article equivalent for Jimin does not even mention his last name.) The single name appears on all official artist sites for him through their label as well. Both also use their mononym for official legal credits at the Korean Music Copyright Association. (See here, search "10005241" for Jimin's credits and "10005242" for Jungkook's credits under "Writers & Publishers" to view.) Their last names are not mentioned enough to justify the page move. It's very common for artists who are most commonly known mononymously to have their pages be titled as such - see Zendaya (not Zendaya Coleman), Normani (not Normani Kordei), Khalid (not Khalid Robinson), and Daesung (not Kang Dae-sung), to name a few.
Thus, there is sufficient evidence here to prove that this meets the criteria of the "single name is used as a true artist's name" from WP:MONONYM for it to be kept like this. DanielleTH (Say hi!)
  • Oppose: He's more known as Jungkook, not his entire Korean name. The only reason Jin has his entire name was because how common that name is.Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 05:15, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
  • Oppose: Per DanielleTH's explanation. It looks like you saw that initial sentence and didn’t read anything else after that regarding the articles name and requested the move Alexanderlee (talk) 09:08, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
  • Comment: The main question is then why is Taeyeon (who isn't very well referred to by her last name) is titled Kim Tae-yeon and why are all the Super Junior members have their LAST names as part of their article titles? Tibbydibby (talk) 15:14, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
Tibbydibby Whoever created them made them that way. Looking at the history of a talk page if there was any discussion about it you could find out there. Also, they're both older groups so standards could have changed when their articles were created. You would have to talk about it there on those talk pages if you want it changed to current standards.Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 15:21, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
  • Support: Per Tibbydibby - Last name is a natural disambiguator, esp when their artist name is just their actual first name. It is not an true stage name as in Seohyun or Irene (singer). As examples, Kim Tae-yeon, Kwon Yu-ri, Kim Hee-chul, Yoon Bo-ra. Korean names that are usually ambiguous result in [Group name]'s First Name being used. It is logically consistent and supports WP:MONONYM as used in more encyclopedic works, not just company press releases. Evaders99 (talk) 05:02, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
  • Oppose. The article starts by Jeon Jung-kook (전정국; born September 1, 1997), better known mononymously as Jungkook, is a South Korean singer. Changing this opening phrase into "Jungkook (born 1997-09-01), lesser known polynymously as Jeon Jungkook, is a Korean singer" doesn't appear as an improvement. We have here a stare decisis case: don't change unless something is broken. Concerning disambiguation, let us wait for the ambiguity to appear. And then decide what is the pertinent disambiguator. May be Jeon, may be singer, may be 1997, who knows ? Pldx1 (talk) 09:58, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Viral

DanielleTH are we not allowed to put in a note when they go viral. Numerous news sources have written about it, but it was taken out. I wasn't sure if there was a policy against that. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 03:49, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

@Ukiss2ne14lyfe: Sorry I was putting in all the order of cultural merit stuff, I really should've discussed it first since we didn't have a consensus about it like we did most handsome lists so I really should've discussed it first. I put it back. Anyways, my only confusion with it is that I feel like it's very much WP:FANCRUFT. J-Hope's "In My Feelings" challenge was removed due to falling under this, as it stayed viral mostly within the fandom and doesn't directly pertain to his career as an idol/rapper/professional dancer (though I guess now for that I could see it being added to an impact section given it was the most liked tweet of 2018). Jungkook going viral on twitter is similar, he went viral among fans, and these articles were written in response to that, and it's unrelated to his career as a singer. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 04:16, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
As an addendum, I feel like this could apply to the viral stuff on Kim Seok-jin, too. Would love to hear your thoughts. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 04:20, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
If there's a consensus then we can take it out, but none of those articles say they went viral in the fandom. It says they went viral. Seokjin's in particular prove it wasn't fandom that caused it because fans aren't going to say "car door guy" or "third from the left" to figure out who he is. I wasn't going to put Jungkook's in but even Time wrote about it, the source I used, so I put it in. The only thing I wasn't certain of was if those types of things were fancruft like you mentioned. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 14:29, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
Just to add input to this, it seems very fancruft information. There’s no evidence of this having any impact on either of their careers or that of BTS, and celebrities have gone viral for various things over the years, but not everything that goes viral is in articles, even if it is reported about. Especially with Jin’s, it literally just a case of him being good lucking and people talking about it. Yes it made news articles, but it just seems trivial. Alexanderlee (talk) 15:01, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
Okay, sounds good. I'll remove it from the pages. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 15:20, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

More pointless ranting. For the users seeking to label Jungkook as a "main vocalist", please see Talk:Jungkook#"Main Vocalist" for reasons why its not added.
In the meantime, I'll be adding a {{Recruiting}} template as I also see users requesting this same change outside of the talk page.

He is a Korean singer. K-pop groups all have positions. He is the only person in the main vocal position of BTS. It's not something you can have on your own. It is the title given to him by the procedure. He is introduced as a main vocal in various media and media. So we all knew he was the main vocal. Schnapper rock (talk) 19:08, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Even if my Writing were deleted, I would keep writing them again. Schnapper rock (talk) 19:11, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

I don't know why his official title main vocal is under discussion. Schnapper rock (talk) 19:13, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Jungkook was also introduced as the main vocalist on many Japanese TV shows. Schnapper rock (talk) 19:20, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

The Anti are only offering very poor articles.

But the media where he was introduced as Maine has many very popular things like TV shows. Schnapper rock (talk) 19:22, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

But the media where he was introduced as Maine has many very popular things like TV shows. Schnapper rock (talk) 19:23, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

http://m.insight.co.kr/news/150954 This is said Cleary that Jungkook is the main vocalist. Because the Video was filmed, produced, edited and distributed by BIGHIT, a BTS company. That he said so on the screen is the same as saying that the company designated him as a main vocalist. He said he didn't know he would be the main vocalist in the film. this mean Jungkook's now the main vocal. Again, this is a film from a BTS agency called the BigHit Entertainment. Schnapper rock (talk) 19:46, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

youtu.be/WmLg-fY4i8o Also South Korea's very famous public TV program, The Masked Singer, introduced JUNGKOOK as the main vocal of the BTS. I attached a photo capturing the scene from the TV program.

(1:49~1:52 in Video. Subtitles 메인보컬 means main vocal) Schnapper rock (talk) 19:52, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

There are many TV programs that introduce Jungkook as the main vocal, not only in Korea but also in Japan. Jungkook is Korean singer. In South Korea, He is known as the main vocal. Already!!! Schnapper rock (talk) 19:59, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Who cares really, he is a member of BTS and thats everything that needs to be included in the lead section, check articles of some non-Korean band members, this is not a fancruft forum to post "official positions" like the youngest member, "face", "maknae", "main dancer" etc., not to mention that there is no adequate explanation what the hell does "main" and "lead" vocalist even means, even the company themselves doesnt know it, they add it for a fancruft purposes. Whats the differene between "main vocal" and "lead vocal"? No one knows. Snowflake91 (talk) 20:55, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Your evidence is a very poor article. On the other side, The evidence I've presented is that the movie was made by BigHit Entertainment and a famous TV show made by the largest broadcasting station MBC in Korea. There are many articles and programs Jungkook introduced as the main vocalist. So Jungkook is already known as the main vocalist. I don't have to submit any more evidence because your evidence is very poor. Schnapper rock (talk) 06:44, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

I don't care if Wikipedia doesn't say he's the main vocalist. Because Wikipedia is just Wikipedia. Jungkook's still the main vocalist. Schnapper rock (talk) 06:45, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

Thats nice, now stop spamming here and go back to fan forums. Snowflake91 (talk) 09:36, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

This is not a spamming. My writing has been erased without my knowledge, so I'll just leave it alone one more. Why do you want to change the rules set by K-pop giants? Every group in K-pop sets a main vocalist. Jungkook is just one of them. So don't forget he's the main vocalist. Even though there's no Wikipedia.  Schnapper rock (talk) 18:14, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

Networth

Seventeen quoted Celebrity Net Worth as a cite for how much Jungkook is worth. Would that validate the numbers anymore since other places are quoting that figure too? I wanted to check before adding it in case seventeen was considered a tabloid and unreliable.[1] Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 13:43, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Still With You (BTS FESTA)

In the page, I quote that it reads, "On June 4, 2020, Jungkook released the song "Still With You", for free on platforms such as SoundCloud as a part of BTS' yearly debut celebrations. Billboard described the song as having "tinkling synths and gently strummed guitars and brushed drums". Jungkook produced the piece himself.[31]"

"The BTS singer produced the song along with Big Hit Entertainment's producer Pdogg, according to BTS' Twitter." was a quote I found online in the following article BTS' Jungkook releases new solo track 'Still with You'

Here are the credits listed on BTS's blog (https://btsblog.ibighit.com/) "Produced by Pdogg, Jung Kook (Jung Kook, Pdogg) Keyboard - Pdogg Synthesizer - Pdogg Guitar – 정재필 Background vocals – Jung Kook Vocal Arrangement – Pdogg Recording Engineers - Pdogg @ Dogg Bounce

Injuries and details of performance

I think it's worth including things such as Jungkook's injury preventing him from dancing at the concert at the O2 in 2018. It is notable when concerts do not go as planned. Battleofalma (talk) 15:28, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

To expand, Battleofalma had placed information on Jungkook hurting himself on the wiki page and I deleted it as I felt like it wasn't notable since nothing was cancelled and things continued on. If anyone else has any input on whether it should be included or not please comment. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 16:31, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

I think it should be added since he couldn't perform. He could only sing. D1 of the concert he was on stage just after having stages backstage and on anesthesia. This was a very emotional and significant time for both Jungkook and ARMYs. I think it should be added. KekeKookie (talk) 02:14, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

I agree with User:KekeKookie. Jungkook has talked about that time in many interviews and vlives (Specifically his solo vlive from 2018 when they were performing in Berlin, Germany), and has said that it was a very hard and formative time for him. Not being able to perform and worrying that he couldn't perform for Army that spent lots of money to see him, was hard for him. I think it should be put in. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KelseyJohnson07 (talkcontribs) 10:45, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

@Ttooulis99: allkpop and pinkvilla are not reliable sources according to WP:KO/RS. Also, directing (1) music video does not equate to him being a director as a profession; it's more of a one off thing for now. Content on Fandom (Wikia) is not held to the same standards as English Wikipedia and cannot be cited here, also they copy a lot of their content from the articles on here (that is what that notice means). Change "He is a member of and vocalist in the South Korean boy band BTS" to "He is a member of and main vocalist in the South Korean boy band BTS" Jeonsuzy (talk) 13:06, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

I have already seen it, but I don't see the problem with mentioning his position in the group in his profile. Other Kpop group profiles mention main vocalists, but only in BTS they don't. Being a main vocalist is a very hard job and should be credited. Therefore, by not crediting him of his position, you are undermining the work Jungkook puts in to the group. I hope you can reflect on this, and make changes, as many other Armys agree with this view. Thankyou!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeonsuzy (talkcontribs) 18:31, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

The problem is, as stated in the discussion linked above, if you include "main" for one, then you need to include all the "main", "lead" and "sub" for the others too. Especially to those who have no clue about K-pop or its terms, it can be confusig to understand the difference. Ultimately, the reader only really needs to know whether the person sings or raps within the group. Giving more detail to their voice in another section (such as artistry, perhapse) would better help the reader. Nobody is undermining anyones work here, and please don't forget that Wikipedia is not a fansite, it is not written for fans (referring to your comment that "many other Armys agree"). Alex (talk) 19:49, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Exactly! Wikipedia is supposed to give valid information to new fans, and other people who want to find out more about Jungkook. By not adding some of his roles like Main vocalist, Video Director and Producer, you are not crediting his hard work. Also, about the fact you have to add 'lead' or 'sub' for the other members, then that is not a valid criticism to my point. Please review this! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeonsuzy (talkcontribs) 19:58, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
You've missed the point, even with your first comment. "Wikipedia is supposed to give valid informatiom to new fans" - no Wikipedia is not a fan site. Alex (talk) 20:53, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Then please tell what is the purpose of wikipedia!! now you're just making stuff up to defend your point. What's your problem with Jungkook?? Do you even know BTS? I don't see the problem with adding his correct position to HIS profile. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeonsuzy (talkcontribs) 22:12, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
@Jeonsuzy: Hi, just thought I'd chime in here, as an ARMY, although that doesn't change anything. Here at Wikipedia, our purpose is to provide knowledge to all readers -- we are not targeted at a specific fanbase. We try to make information as clear as possible. As mentioned before, we are not a fansite. This issue has been discussed many many times before, and a general consensus has been reached to not include "main", "lead" or "sub" on ANY kpop page. For many readers, position names can be unclear and confusing. While I appreciate your discussion, I ask you to please be respectful of others and Wikipedia policies. Thanks!⇒ Lucie Person (talk|contribs) 01:01, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
@Lucie Person: Did you mean to tag Ukiss2ne14lyfe here? That editor hasn't commented on this thread. Alex (talk) 00:56, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
@Alexanderlee: Yeah, you're right. I've changed it. Sorry. ⇒ Lucie Person (talk|contribs) 01:01, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Why is that you cannot add any main vocal, lead vocal, etc positions but you are fine with adding leader? I thought that Wikipedia was a place for people to find out more about this information. Purposefully removing this just because you think people will be confused? That's exactly why they will be confused. Because you don't put it in the 1st place. It is already verified information. There should be an objective standpoint. It's important information so it should be put. YukaMay24 (talk) 05:36, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

I would also like to add that "He is a member of and vocalist in the South Korean boy band BTS" is technically incorrect at this point. Shouldn't it be "He is a member and main vocalist of the South Korean boy band BTS?" Also, I wouldn't really classify BTS as a boyband. They don't really play instruments. YukaMay24 (talk) 05:40, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

A boy band in common usage is a vocal group. It doesn't mean it's an instrumental band. Evaders99 (talk) 07:14, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

"Main Vocalist"

Several accounts/IPs recently have repeatedly added text asserting Jungkook is BTS's "main vocalist." After cursory inspection, there don't seem to be any sources referenced in the article that support this claim, and such an addition must be reliably sourced in compliance with WP:BLP. I'm opening this discussion to create a place to discuss the issue, to establish the merit (or lack thereof) of these claims, and to determine whether consensus exists for their inclusion in the article. In general, the procedure for content disputes is Bold, Revert, Discuss, not Revert, Revert, Revert. Hopefully some agreement can be reached. —Rutebega (talk) 01:05, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

From what I've seen, it's a general consensus among K-Pop editors to not include "main" and "lead" positions for a couple reasons: they're rarely mentioned outside of profiles released early into a K-Pop group's career by their label, the difference between "main" and "lead" to someone not knowledgeable with K-Pop is incredibly unclear, and this ranking system is pretty much fancruft anyways. That's why none of the reliable sources in the article make a note of it. This definitely doesn't mean that his role as a prominent vocalist in BTS shouldn't be noted in something like an Artistry section, in my opinion. Explaining his voice instead of tossing "main vocalist" to the lead without any sourcing is more useful to a reader anyways. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 04:09, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
Found these articles where he is mentioned as the main vocalist https://www.scmp.com/culture/music/article/2149865/meet-jungkook-bts-youngest-member-golden-vocals-proves-he-can-offer , http://share.ew.com/YT6gsmD , and an article which shows him calling himself a main vocalist http://m.insight.co.kr/news/150954 here’s the translation https://twitter.com/jjktalents/status/995283894130827264?s=21. You can decided if they are good enough as a source or not... I just saw them on someones talk page. I kind of agree with what @DanielleTH: said about the artistry section, but I also think it won't matter if main vocalist is added only if there is a good enough source for it. Mhil00 (talk) 16:03, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for finding those, Mhil00! I think my biggest concern is what I said above, if we add main then not adding the "lead" and "sub" roles to the other BTS members' pages would be odd, and following that, you come to the problems I listed. A casual reader would not know the difference between main and lead, and despite the term being "sub-vocalist", Jin and V aren't substitutes in the group, so that's incredibly misleading. If there was some way to present the title in a way that isn't misleading and/or confusing, I would be open to adding them. That's why I feel like, as of right now, explaining what he does instead of throwing a title into the lead accomplishes that. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 19:43, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
@DanielleTH: Now that you've put it that way, I see your point. Yes, it would be odd to not add the roles of the other members if they are added for Jungkook. You're right. I also like what you said about explaining Jungkook's role rather than just stating it for now. However, if you do decided to add main for JK, I'll just say that I don't really see anyone using the term sub for Jin and V anywhere, they usually just simply use vocalist, lead for Jimin and main for JK... maybe that could be used if main is added for JK? It's up to you guys to decide since I'm really new to this! Plus, I'm also quite conflicted on this matter. Mhil00 (talk) 21:49, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

http://m.insight.co.kr/news/150954 This is said Cleary that Jungkook is the main vocalist. Schnapper rock (talk) 06:52, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

youtu.be/WmLg-fY4i8o Also South Korea's very famous public TV program, The Masked Singer, introduced JUNGKOOK as the main vocal of the BTS. I attached a photo capturing the scene from the TV program.

(1:49~1:52 in Video. Subtitles 메인보컬 means main vocal)

Schnapper rock (talk) 06:54, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

Your evidence is a very poor article. On the other side, The evidence I've presented is that the movie was made by BigHit Entertainment and a famous TV show made by the largest broadcasting station MBC in Korea. There are many articles and programs Jungkook introduced as the main vocalist. So Jungkook is already known as the main vocalist. I don't have to submit any more evidence because your evidence is very poor Schnapper rock (talk) 06:56, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

I don't care if Wikipedia doesn't say he's the main vocalist. Because Wikipedia is just Wikipedia. Jungkook's still the main vocalist.  Schnapper rock (talk) 06:57, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

Why do you want to change the rules set by K-pop giants? Every group in K-pop sets a main vocalist. Jungkook is just one of them. So don't forget he's the main vocalist. Even though there's no Wikipedia. Schnapper rock (talk) 07:02, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

If my writing gets erased again, I'll write it again. Schnapper rock (talk) 07:03, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

I have to say the fact that someone removed JungKook's title if main vocalist from his page is ridiculous. It's a title that he earned. And NOT having it on his Wikipedia page is VERY misleading to people who don't know BTS very well. BTS has stated many times that JK is the main Vocalist. Ex. 1. Burn The Stage Episode 3. (First 2-3 minutes) RM states ' Jungkook is our main vocalist.'This title needs to be added back to his page. Jimin should be listed as lead vocalist, with Jin and V as vocalists. There can even be a sub section on the pages explaining the different titles and their meanings in kpop world. Not everyone understands. But taking JKs title of Main Vocalist away is equivalent to also removing RMs title of Leader if the group. It's ludicrous. No one in their right mind would do that. So let's stop this nonsense and fix this asap. Please. If worse comes to worse I can get all of followers on Twitter to start emailing BH to release a formal statement that jK is the main vocalist. Which we CAN make happen. But all that will finish she'd light on this stupid situation which we can solve now before way more people find out and turn this into a bigger mess than it has to be. KekeKookie (talk) 01:21, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

I would also like to point out that if it was a general consensus for this title to be removed then why do I still see it for other groups? To give some examples, there is Exo's Suho, Blackpink's Rose, GFriend's Yuju, and more. Please remove for them as well if you're going to do it to Jungkook. This is clearly anti behavior. There have been many instances where Jungkook himself and even the members have introduced and said him out to be the main vocalist. Some examples would be BTS Run episodes 28 and 89. There is also the BTS movie and when Jungkook introduced himself as main vocalist in the show Masked Singer. There was also that BTS Movie. I would like an explanation to this. YukaMay24 (talk) 16:36, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Jungkook just said that he is the “Main Vocalist” on camera in the 2021 “You Quiz on the Block” interview. If you are going to list RM as the “Leader” (another K-Pop position), then it is only fair that you list Jungkook as the “Main Vocalist” since his position extremely essential as well. The Main Vocalist does the majority of vocal guides, harmonies, and ad libs and spends countless extra hours of hard work in the studio perfecting all of the songs before release. It is completely disrespectful to not give Jungkook credit for this position. Moniinicole (talk) 23:10, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Jungkook is the MAIN VOCALIST

Jungkook just said that he is the MAIN VOCALIST of BTS on camera, again, in the “You Quiz on the Block” Interview in 2021. RM is listed on Wikipedia as the “Leader” (another K-Pop position), yet Jungkook is just listed as a “Vocalist”. That is extremely disrespectful! The “Main Vocalist” is one of the most important positions in the band, responsible for the majority of the vocal guides, harmonies, ad libs, and the one who spends countless extra hours in the studio perfecting all of the songs before release. Not giving him credit for this position is completely disrespectful! And at this point, it just looks embarrassing for Wikipedia when Jungkook and the other members keep saying how essential Jungkook’s role as the “Main Vocalist” has been for the band’s success. Taehyung just said this on camera recently. It just makes Wikipedia look like a source that cannot be trusted or taken seriously when you leave out critical information. At this point, everyone know Jungkook is the “Main Vocalist”. His words and the words of the members matter more than you trying to hide his position. Moniinicole (talk) 23:24, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Main vocalist

It has been brought to attention that even Jungkook himself, other members, and other TV s, have called him as the main vocalist in the year 2021 alone. However, there have been multiple arguments to why this cannot be included just because some members are jealous that their favorite members are not main vocalists? @Alex I was talking about the BTS pages. It is not misleading at all. You can search for such statements he said were on there all you like on those pages. The other page that was mentioned that broke guidelines that part was removed. Ukiss2ne14lyfe (talk) 17:35, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

It is unfair that you only consider positions when it comes to BTS pages. Even if you have removed the positions in the Rose Article, you say that it is not misleading because you were only talking about BTS pages. What happened to the consensus you were previously talking about? Also, in Rose's occupation, you have indicated Singer and dancer while in Jungkook's article, you have only indicated singer and songwriter. Even if you say that there is a section in the artistry part that covers this, I consider it unfair that for both of these artists whom are called lead dancers, the dancer occupation was only given to Rose. 2+2=4....so smart (talk) 19:05, 9 November 2021 (UTC)In September 2015, Jungkook participated in the "One Dream, One Korea" campaign, taking part in a song collaboration alongside numerous Korean artists in memory of the Korean War. The song was released on September 24 and presented at the One K Concert in Seoul on October 15.[25]

In 2016, Jungkook was cast in the pilot episode of Flower Crew. He also appeared on Celebrity Bromance,[26][27] and competed in King of Mask Singer under the name "Fencing Man," appearing in episode 72.[28]

On August 24, 2018, the song "Euphoria", was released by the South Korean boy band, BTS, which was sung as a solo by Jungkook. He now continues to perform the song at many of their concerts and it is loved by their amazing supporters, also known as, "ARMY".

On November 6, 2018, Jungkook performed "We Don't Talk Anymore" with original singer Charlie Puth in a special collaboration stage during the MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards. The song was one he had previously covered twice, solo and with fellow BTS member Jimin.[29]

On June 4, 2020, Jungkook released the song "Still With You", for free on platforms such as SoundCloud as a part of BTS' yearly debut celebrations. Billboard described the song as having "tinkling synths and gently strummed guitars and brushed drums". Jungkook produced the piece himself.2+2=4....so smart (talk) 19:05, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

Alternative professional name

The name Jungkook uses professionally outside South Korea seems to vary across BTS’s content - in news pieces and on social media I think it’s almost always spelt the same as this article, but in a lot of their official releases, including MVs, YouTube content, album art and his new Spotify profile (https://open.spotify.com/artist/6HaGTQPmzraVmaVxvz6EUc?si=bn1BDmeNTwefHp2FU2moWw), it’s written as Jung Kook with a space between the characters. I don’t know of any Wikipedia-based reasons to make referencing it incorrect, so I would say that version’s used in enough official settings to be mentioned as an alternative name? Jungkook

Why you removed Jungkook as main vocalist from BTS??? Can you explain please? 🤔 84.69.77.102 (talk) 01:30, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

We don't use the fan terminology such as main, lead, sub, or visual. We go by the roles as a vocalist, rapper, or dancer. This isn't a fan Wiki, it's an Encyclopedia for the public. Btspurplegalaxy 💬 🖊️ 04:45, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

It is not fan terminology, “Main Vocalist” is an actual official position recognized even on the official Spotify for Jungkook. It is also listed on the Korean Wikipedia page for Jungkook. Listing Jungkook as simply a “vocalist” is not accurate information. This makes his English Wikipedia page not as accurate as his Korean Wikipedia page. Moniinicole (talk) 21:01, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

Refer to Jungkook’s Korean Wikipedia page that lists him as the “Main Vocalist” of BTS. https://ko.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/정국_(가수) Moniinicole (talk) 21:06, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

Also, refer to Jungkook’s official Spotify page, Apple Music page, and imdb page which all list him as the “Main Vocalist” of BTS. It makes his English Wikipedia page seem outdated by not including this important information. https://open.spotify.com/artist/6HaGTQPmzraVmaVxvz6EUc

https://music.apple.com/us/artist/jung-kook/785052275

https://m.imdb.com/name/nm8506461/bio

Also, RM is listed as the “Leader” of BTS. Why? That is also a position. It is biased and not misleading to list an important position for one member but not for another.

Moniinicole (talk) 21:15, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

I meant it is misleading to not include that Jungkook is the “Main Vocalist” of BTS and it also minimizes his significant role in the group by just calling him a “vocalist” which is not true. If RM is listed as the “leader”, than Jungkook should be listed as the “main vocalist”, just like Spotify has included on their official profiles. These roles are extremely important for understanding their roles and responsibilities in the band. Moniinicole (talk) 21:18, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

@Moniinicole: I was going to direct you to old discussions in the talk page archive but I can see that you already ranted about this almost two years ago, so you're definitely aware of the reasons as to why we don't include fan terminology. We should probably add something like Elon Musk's FAQ to the talk page because this issue gets brought up all the time. - Ïvana (talk) 22:53, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

Post the source that says that official positions for BTS are “fan terminology”. If that is the case, why is “Leader” listed for RM? Explain this. Also, explain why Korean Wikipedia lists “Main Vocalist” and recognizes this as an official position but you don’t. Otherwise, it just seems as though biased people are running the English Wikipedia BTS pages. This is why nobody takes Wikipedia seriously and is why Wikipedia is never considered a reliable source by anyone. What an embarrassment. Moniinicole (talk) 09:39, 1 January 2023 (UTC)

Left and Right nominations

"Left and Right" was nominated for the song of the year abroad at the Froggy's chosen of the year ceremony. Is it important enough to include the information in the awards and nominations table? Estyxxxx (talk) 18:44, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

Idk anything about this award ceremony so I can't really answer that question. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 22:33, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
I included in the previous message information about the ceremony on the Hebrew Wikipedia (it is of course written in Hebrew, so it is recommended to translate to understand what is written there). I am now adding a link to Jungkook's awards and nominations section in the Hebrew Wikipedia.
Jungkook awards and nominations
Thank you very much and sorry for the trouble. Estyxxxx (talk) 17:12, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
The Hebrew wiki page doesn't provide any information regarding the notability of the award. Notability has to be proved first before an award can be considered for inclusion. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 18:12, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
It seems to me that this award is important on a national scale, but I have no information on the level of its global importance.
Thanks for the quick reply Estyxxxx (talk) 19:57, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
Notability doesn't mean global importance necessarily. If it's a notable award in its country of origin as you say then there should be significant coverage of it by local, reliable news/entertainment sources. You'd need to locate and share those sources here, which we'd then ask editors familiar with Hebrew sources to verify. If those sources prove the notability of the award/awarding body then it can be added to the table. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 20:12, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
I understand,
Unfortunately I don't currently have time to focus on this, I prefer to focus on other contributions to the wiki that are more important. I'll try to see if someone else is available to take care of it.
Thank you very much for your help. Estyxxxx (talk) 21:22, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
Just keep in mind that since you were the one who asked about it potentially being added to the table, and the one who said it's a notable award, the WP:BURDEN is on you to provide proof of notability first, regardless of which other editor you go to about it. I just happened to be the one who responded here. If you do find someone willing to add it without verifying, just know that the addition will very likely be reverted. And you're welcome. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 01:00, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't explain myself clearly enough. Of course I'm not going to add or ask someone to add without proof. I just meant to continue what I edit in the original Wikipedia where I work (Hebrew Wikipedia).
Thank you very much for the clarification. Estyxxxx (talk) 17:59, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
No problem. Ofc, if in future you have the time, and are able to confirm its notability, you can always come back and add the award or get someone to do it for you. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 18:05, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Jeon Jung-kook (Korean전정국; RRJeon Jeongguk; born September 1, 1997), also known mononymously as Jungkook (stylized as Jung Kook), is a South Korean singer and a member of the South Korean boy band BTS. He has performed three solo songs as part of BTS' discography— "Begin" in 2016, "Euphoria" in 2018, and "My Time" in 2020—all of which charted on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart.
