Weakly transitioned paragraph?

21:48, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

For some reason an entire paragraph of this article reminds me of factoids pulled from the Random Vin Diesel Fact Generator (reload and ignore personally offensive messages to see what I mean): [1]

"At one time Kutcher had a job sweeping floors at a General Mills plant. He once was so poor, he donated blood for money. He was kicked out of the school play because he was caught drinking beer. He got arrested at 18 years old for breaking into his school with a friend and stealing money from a vending machine. Because his probation prohibited him from leaving Iowa, Kutcher majored in biochemical engineering at the University of Iowa in 1997 but dropped out to pursue modeling."

Owens

Hey, I just adjusted the whole page, but this section really sticks out and it doesn't make sense as is. It's not clear what the apology was for and how it involves Kutcher, and then it mentions Kutcher's punking Owns after the apology? If someone can make sense of it we should put it back, under the "Punk'd" section, but in a more understandable format. "Another occurence, during the show's sixth season, involved football player Terrell Owens, who did not apologize to Kutcher after he read a replica of the apology letter written by Owens (Owens had already apologized to QB Donovan McNabb, Head Coach Andy Reid, and the Philadelphia Eagles). Kutcher later "punk'd" Owens when he staged a bus accident and then set a fake personal injury lawyer on Owens as he was attempting to help elderly people he believed were injured. This episode first aired 13 November 2005". JackO'Lantern 02:03, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Twin

"Ashton had a fraternal twin brother, Michael, who was born with cardiomyopathy, a deadly disease that eats away at the heart's muscles. Michael was given about six hours to live, but survived with a transplant. Is Michael still alive? 193.171.249.98 16:08, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Yes, Michael is still alive. JackO'Lantern 02:07, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Also, we need a picture for this page. Kutcher is certainly high-profile enough. JackO'Lantern 02:07, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Missing "Cheaper by the Dozen" filmography entry

I noticed that in his filmography list isn't mentioned the movie "Cheaper by the Dozen", is that intended? If so, why? Granted, he's not credited in the movie, but he's definately listed in the IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005110/ and his role in that movie was more than just a 'walk-on' role/character. --Archangel Michael 18:03, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Kutcher on MySpace

According to Ashton-Kutcher.net, Ashton will donate $1 to Habitat For Humanity® International for the first 50,000 people who add him as a friend on Myspace. There are loads of fake profiles for him. PrometheusX303 14:09, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Larry King Live

On September 28, 2006, Kutcher appeared on the television program "Larry King Live". He stated that his family moved to the Homestead, Iowa, farm when he was 13. He also said that during the eight month period he lived in New York, he flew to Los Angeles and auditioned for his role on That 70's Show his very first day in town. This second statement doesn't seem to agree with the article's assertion that the hit show discovered him at a bar in Iowa City. --Blainster 08:14, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Gotcha. It's been corrected. Thanks, Mad Jack 16:10, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Kutcher's mother

The early life section is incredibly confusing. (A) If Kutcher's parent' were married, is it correct that they didn't have the same last name? (B) Also, while I know that Kutcher's mom's first name is Diane, the name Diane Finnegan only brings up two google sites (both wikipedia) when searched with the name Kutcher. (C) The name Diane Porter comes up like a kazillion times (D) What is Diane's maiden, first married, and second married names? If we could determine this definitively, then the case would be closed.--Esprit15d (talk ¤ contribs) 17:45, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

GA Review

After reviewing the article according to the Good Article Criteria, I have to decline the article's nomination for GA status at this time for concerns that are listed below. While reviewing, I also looked to for comparison the Eric Bana, Uma Thurman and Julia Stiles articles. I encourage the article's editors to look to those pages as examples and guides for what this article could become.
1. It is well written. - Pass

  • There were some minor copy edits that took the liberty of correcting but overall the article seems to pass this criteria with no glaring violation of WP:MOS.

2. It is factually accurate and verifiable. - Needs Improvement

  • There was some "citation needed" tags prior to the review that need to be cited.
  • Considering the sensitive nature of BLP's, I would also look into citing some of the "dating history" with reliable sources. Some celebrities consider that information private and personal. Having that type of information attached to a strong reliable source would not only put that info in the clear but would also help curb the insertions of "dubious former lovers" into the paragraph.

3. It is broad in its coverage. - Needs Improvement

  • Outside of a brief mention of the "dim pretty boys" characterization, there is not really any coverage on Kutcher's acting reputation and how it is perceived by the critics and mainstream viewers alike. What is his acting style like? What do critics say are his strengths and weakness? What do movie studios or viewers think of his box office draw? Are there any director's quotes about working with him?

4. It follows the neutral point of view policy - Needs Improvement

  • I would rework the Selected Filmography section to be more comprehensive (looks like you're missing 5-7 projects). The very description "selected" is POV oriented in that it is using some unknown (and presumably un-objective) criteria for inclusion in the list.

5. It is stable - Pass

  • The article is a bit of a vandal target but the editors are prompt in maintaining the integrity of the article. Overall the article seems to have progressed gracefully in development.

6. It contains images, where possible, to illustrate the topic. - Needs Improvement

  • The article has images but part of the criteria is that the all the images included be properly tagged (Criteria 6a). Image:Welling and kutcher.jpg has a deletion notice due to improper sourcing.

I encourage the editors to consider renominating after the above concerns have been addressed. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Agne 10:33, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Image:Michael kelso.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Clean-up

00:02, 2 April 2008 (UTC) This article needs some serious clean-up from someone who has studied both the ways of the Wikipedia, and Ashton Kutchers life. I realize finding an individual with both said qualities will be overwhelmingly difficult; I had to post anyway.

This is wrong - where is your source?

00:03, 3 April 2008 (UTC) "Kutcher is good friends with his former That '70s Show co-stars Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama, as well as actor Seann William Scott, though has said that he can't even look at former That's 70's show co-star Mila Kunis and so when he is in her company he always looks in the mirror at himself."

"Best known"

I suggest a rewrite of the first paragraph without the "best known" superlative that adds nothing and is not really possible to prove. Take a look at the following:

and so on. Add to that the fact that laugh-track comedies are not always popular in certain countries while movies always are (my original point; here in Asia he's only known as a movie star and shows like That 70s Show are mostly only known by big fans) and there's little reason to try to make the statement that he's "best" known for this role or that. Note that other-language Wikipedias have perfectly fine articles on Kutcher without the superlative. Mithridates (talk) 02:52, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

i cant help but to find that the following site best proves my point [2]. however in the interest of fairness i give you these to help prove my point that that is what hes best known for..that 70s show...again..im sorry. [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]...its all there clear as day. so the first paragraph is fine as written..and feel free to input any of those sites into the little "citation needed" block. --EmperorofBlackPeopleEverywhere (talk) 04:17, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
All those except one cite That 70s Show as his "breakthrough role", which is what my original edit was about. I wouldn't include modeling along with that. So just out of curiosity, what's the attachment to the superlative? Various sites and opinions each have a "best known" role for Kutcher and there's obviously no agreement; he's no one-hit wonder like a Joe the Plumber for example who is obviously best known for a single event. His best known role here in Korea for example is The Butterfly Effect, and it was just this year that I've noticed That 70s Show subtitled on tv.
I would go with the following: either change "best known" to something along the lines of "breakthrough role as Michael..." for That 70s Show in the first paragraph, or just include them all without the "best known" superlative. Otherwise we'll be throwing links at each other all day.
Actually, one other phrase that would be acceptable would be "once best known as (That 70s Show info here), he now... (info on more recent roles here)." Mithridates (talk) 04:32, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

look i'm sorry that it hasnt gotten out to where you are, but that does not negate the fat that it is what he was best known for. the fact that you're seeing it at a later date is no reason to remove it. point blank--EmperorofBlackPeopleEverywhere (talk) 04:36, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

1) Stop saying you're sorry. 2) Quoting you: "it is what he was best known for. The article says "is" in the first sentence. 3) The edit you just made is no compromise: my point is not that he's also best known for movie x or tv show y, but that he is no longer best known for any single role. I'll leave the page alone though for the time being and see how long this current version stands up. We're obviously going to need some more opinions on this to come to an agreement. Mithridates (talk) 04:52, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Ashton's cellular phone hacked

The website www.ashtonhacked.com purports that the sound files maintained there are actual answering machine messages left on Kutcher's machine and stolen through hacking. I have added this to the main article but with clarification that it may not be legitimate. Pacian 21:01, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

It has been edited to reflect the facts - the entire thing was a prank by Kutcher himself. Pacian 21:12, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

This section needs to be re-thought/re-wrote. The wedding has not even been confirmed, and is still a rumor (as of Sept. 28, 2005). Also, having listened to the alleged voicemails, they are almost assuredly fake. User:dqmillar 00:10, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

The website www.ashtonhacked.com was created by www.zug.com, as a prank on Ashton Kutcher, and when they heard they were getting married, they decided to say that Ashton created it and that the wedding was fake. For more details go to: http://www.zug.com/pranks/ashton/

It doesn't matter if it was fake it needs to be in there. It was pretty dramatic and hurt Ashton's wedding relations with the press. The fact that Ashton got punk'd is enough to get in this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.127.133.152 (talk) 04:45, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Bohemian ancestry?

Is his dad Bohemian? He has a bohemian name or is he not?

There were a lot of Czech immigrants to Iowa in the 19th century. It's pretty clear from what I've seen that his Bohemian ancestry is distant. He's really mostly Anglo-Irish, etc. JackO'Lantern 06:34, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Cedar Rapids has a huge Czech and Slovac population and has for some time, so if his family has lived in the area for awhile, it's difficult not to be Bohemian. I live here and am frequently asked if I'm Czech or Slovac (as if I have to be one or the other)

He must be Sudeten German [paternal]. My surname is Kutscher [am German].
Kucer, Kucera are very common western slavic (Poland, Czech Republik, Slovakia) names. In America or the rest of Europe they often changed to Kutcher, Kutchera, Kutscher..... That's all. I was wondering about that too. Apparently the original source for this was a tabloid, which claimed it had a copy of his Iowa birth certificate (with a 1974 date). I'm not sure if a tabloid is good enough, though. JackO'Lantern 09:11, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Edit Request: Popchips Racism Scandal under controversy

00:02, 2 June 2012 (UTC) Popchips received widespread criticism for their May 2012 video ad campaign featuring actor Ashton Kutcher.[1] The campaign featured Kutcher as an Indian man 'looking for love' in a dating ad-style spoof. Kutcher's use of brown-face make up and a stereotypical Indian accent was deemed racially insensitive and offensive and received backlash from online viewers and members of the Indian-American community.[2] While Kutcher has yet to acknowledge the criticism, the video was pulled and a spokesperson for Popchips stated that the dating parody was 'created to provoke a few laughs and was never intended to stereotype or offend anyone.'[3]

There is no encyclopedic reason I can think of for Ashton Kutcher on Twitter to be a separate article. If there is anything noteworthy in that article, it can be a nicely referenced paragraph in his biographical article. Arguing that splitting it off because otherwise the main article would be too big strikes me as very wrong: another paragraph won't hurt the article. These standalone X on Twitter articles are an epidemic that needs to be stopped. Drmies (talk) 16:54, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Oppose merge a summary of this article belongs in the bio, but not the whole thing and this should not be pared down.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:41, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose merge It does appear to be notable, just like Lady Gaga's and the rest, per the coverage. The opposition to this sort of article seems to be "OMG, Twitter accounts can't be a thing", except that is not true at all. People need to realize that Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter are three of the most prominent websites on the planet and the most influential. There are people on them that are famous and they are famous because of them. In this case, it is the account that is famous, which can happen and has been done before, see Horse ebooks for one such example. Furthermore, per WP:SPLIT, it is just this sort of thing that should be split off from main articles that are getting too long. This is the proper way to do it. SilverserenC 10:03, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose - Very well sourced and beneficial to read. --George Ho (talk) 13:53, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose: WP:IDONTLIKEIT is not a really valid reason to merge a topic. Does it absolutely suck that Kutcher's use of Twitter gets more media coverage than women's sport in Africa? Yes. Lots and lots of the world sucks for what the media determines is newsworthy. Should all these articles have pre-sumed inherited notability? No. Independent notability should be very, very clear. (I wouldn't put something on the main space for this topic with at least 20 newspaper/magazine sources about the topic to make this very clear.) Kutcher's Twitter usage is very well known, very much covered in the news, is something discussed in media courses on the university level. This to me makes it VERY encyclopediac. If the topic is covered well, it would be WP:UNDUE to include it in the article. We tried that sort of merge thing with another article and it was unsuccessful. Let's not repeat this again.--LauraHale (talk) 18:25, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
    • Your persistent claims of IDONTLIKEIT (here and in your very repetitive comments at Bieber on Twitter) show a lack of good faith. I hope you noted that I presented actual arguments, so I'd appreciate it if you stuck to the arguments. Kutcher's marriage to Demi Moore generated a lot more content than his tweeting, yet you won't dream of making that a standalone article--and this search suggests that his marrying an older women is more than a bit notable ("Older women/younger men are the new hot thing. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are the poster couple"). It's similar to TonyTheTiger's odd argument at ANI about Obama and Kutcher on Twitter, "I don't think the content at either is important enough to be in the main bio". If the reason for not merging is that the content is not important enough for the main bio, then there is no reason to keep the information in the first place. Your argument goes "it's important because it generates media coverage"--but that doesn't mean it should be a standalone article. His TV career could then be a standalone article, like his movie career, like his personal life, et cetera. His being on Twitter wouldn't be notable if it wasn't his being on Twitter, so I see no valid reason whatsoever for a standalone article. Your claim that IDONTLIKEIT actually boomerangs into ILIKEIT, since the mere existence of coverage alone means nothing, as you should know. Drmies (talk) 14:31, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
  • Merge. I see a reason for some Twitter articles, but I don't see why this article can't be dispersed and added to either Ashton Kutcher's page or Twitter's page. | helpdןǝɥ | 19:54, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
    • If Bieber gets one mention and Gaga gets two mentions and Harry Pottter gets one mention, CNN who Kutcher tried to beat to a million gets zero mentions and Obama gets only one mention, anything more than a note that Kutcher would probably be viewed as WP:UNDUE. It would be nice to see how you and others who are advocating a merge would get around WP:UNDUE by including this information. As a topic, "Ashton Kutcher" Twitter, 11,700 archive results on Google news, including ones that mention both in the topic. If I was more invested in it, I'd use as many of those sources as possible, go to Google Books and find the marketing texts to clearly demonstrate independent notability of the topic because the sources are there. --LauraHale (talk) 20:48, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose Does not meet the Wikipedia definition of Wikipedia:Unenclyclopedic subject. Has substantial coverage in reliable sources, as seen in the article, hence meets notability criteria. It does not follow that all twitter accounts are notable, any more than an article on Ashton Kutcher makes all actors notable. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:16, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

* Weak oppose I'm sitting right at the borderline between support and oppose. Surely his Twitter account is notable, but I think this information could all comfortably fit in his main article, whereas, for example, Justin Bieber on Twitter can not. There is nothing wrong with X on Twitter if there is enough information to warrant its own article. Twitter has become a huge thing. — Statυs (talk) 02:38, 1 June 2012 (UTC) * Support, in favor redirecting Ashton Kutcher on Twitter to Use of Twitter by celebrities and politicians and summarizing it in this article. — Statυs (talk) 22:01, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

  • Oppose article has been expanded enough that it can now stand on its own as an article. — Statυs (talk) 18:10, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

  • I suggest Use of Twitter by celebrities and politicians as an alternative merger target. It has the advantage of the fact that the content of this article (as of several hours ago) is already there, since I used it in the first revision. ☺ Uncle G (talk) 17:04, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
    • I could live with either one: the advantage of yours is that it's a more general target (for Twitter use). The disadvantage is that it has the potential to turn into a wastebasket like some of the X on Twitter were and may be again, a receptacle for every factoid. But that's the risk inherent in such articles. Thanks Uncle, Drmies (talk) 17:11, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Ashton Kutcher recalls horror of girlfriend's 2001 murder

There is an interesting article here about this story, and perhaps it would be good to add some of these details to the article? --ElvisFan1981 (talk) 15:24, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

I concur. The murder of a friend/date/lover is an important part of anyone's biography. Doubly so if they were suspected to be the victim of an alleged serial killer, and even more so if Kutcher had been at the murder scene before the crime was reported, noticed the bloodstains, and purportedly assumed they were just spilled red wine. Kutcher would have been a person of interest and would have been questioned by the police regarding the incident. If this is not part of someone's life story, for better or worse, then I don't know what is. Yet the article has nothing about it, even in the personal life section, eschewing it instead for more palatable minutia such as an investment in a restaurant and the sale of a home. Age difference with Demi Moore relevant?

Is the age difference between him an Demi Moore really relevant: "reports in the media frequently commented on the fifteen-year age difference between the two.[9]" ? I noticed that for example the age gap between Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas isn't mentioned on Catherine Zeta-Jones' entry, and it's even 25 years! Maybe it's because it's considered more sensational that the woman is older... Anyways, is it really noteworthy and should it be included in this article? I personally don't believe it should.Uffep (talk) 00:12, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

i agree, especially since every time i think out loud on a discussion page, someone removes my thoughts as not being "encyclopaedic" (if that's even a word). the age difference between two people in a relationship falls into that category also. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wellcraft11 (talkcontribs) 14:49, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

The age difference between Kutcher and Moore has received a great deal of media attention. It is factual, verified and unusual in a married couple for the wife to be so much older than the husband. Therefore it is notable enough to be stated on both their articles. Likewise, the age difference between Zeta-Jones and Douglas should be on their respective articles due to their age gap attracting a lot of media attention (most of it negative). Please update subtopics. Demi Moore topic is a thing of the past. The public is more interested to know about Ashton and Mila Kunis.

Also, the birth date of his baby is wrong. Mila Kunis wikipedia has the right birthdate. Baby Wyatt Isabelle was born October 1, 2014. Here is a copy of the birth certificate. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mardy588 (talkcontribs) 12:31, 23 January 2015 (UTC)

Other work

The second paragraph within this section references the Twitter client that he started called A.plus in 2011. It appears that the client has since been turned into a web and mobile app called A+ (aplus.com) after relaunching in 2013. Kutcher is listed as a co-founder and chairman on the Company's website, which is currently active, so I propose that someone updates this section to reflect the new development. [1]

Re: Social Media Presence

Last paragraph that addresses the Village Voice article could be worded in a less misleading way. VV article wasn't criticizing the academic rigor of the study, but Kutcher, Moore, and several media outlet's misquotation of the study. The study claimed there were 100,000-300,000 youths at risk for sex trafficking, while Kutcher and others stated that the number referred to the actual estimated number of child prostitutes in the U.S. which is demonstrably false. In addition, the authors of the study were cited in the VV article as stating that Kutcher and others had misinterpreted or misconstrued the context of the statistic. Furthermore, the numbers cited by the VV merely consisted of the raw data collected by local/state/federal law enforcement officials regarding the actual amount of arrests related to underage sex trafficking. Characterizing those numbers as "unreviewed research" is extremely misleading as it implies that the number of arrests related to child trafficking are a disputable argument, rather than a demonstrable fact. This confusing phrasing also seems to suggest a lack of understanding about what circumstances necessitate "peer-review." For example, had the VV used these statistics to make their own assumptions about what constitutes a child "at risk for sexual trafficking" without submitting their theories/findings to other experts to examine the rigor with which they made those assumptions, they would be subject to criticism for not properly testing their hypothesis. However, the number of charges/arrests made in the U.S. annually, regarding child sex trafficking, is not a hypothesis in need of verifying by other experts; each one is a well documented event. Lastly, the use of the word "unreviewed" makes it sound as though the VV doesn't have an editor or something. Which like, pretty sure they do.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.192.78.39 (talk) 16:38, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

It's a little misleading. The paragraph reads as if the writer was trying to be fair balancing the information but just didn't manage total objectivity. Logically in the paragraph, the VV's article/opinion has a certain weight pitted against the other expressed opinions, so it shouldn't be defamed in the same sentence that's informing the reader of their view. The word "unreviewed" doesn't make logical sense anyway, because the VV article was itself a review of a lot of objective sources. I've changed the sentence to what I feel to be a completely neutral tone giving the VV the proper weight within the paragraph, to this sentence: The Village Voice, from their research, said it was only hundreds of children. I removed it. Even if the previous proposal hadn't been made, this new source is poor and it's not about Kutchner. --Ronz (talk) 14:45, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Since when is Fortune magazine a poor source? In addition, we could just remove the cite altogether as the existing cite (Crunchbase) lists Neighborly alongside some of these other companies already in the article. Can we please change my edit back? Or if this is deemed promotional, let's remove all the companies listed. LFBedard (talk) 15:23, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Both sources you've offered are promotional in nature for Neighborly, the Fortune source just a warmed-over press release. Secondly, the sources simply name-drop Kutchner's investment company. --Ronz (talk) 15:42, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

OK, then keep my edit, remove my cite and we just use the existing one from Crunchbase, which also backs up my edit. If you have a problem with Crunchbase, then I suggest you remove the whole sentence/list of companies to be fair. LFBedard (talk) 16:51, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

I think removing the sentence might be the best solution if no independent source is offered. The Crunchbase ref provides a listing of investments. Choosing specific ones from the list for emphasis without additional sources is problematic in terms of both WP:OR and WP:NPOV. If we don't have a source that demonstrates why it's important to mention in a biography on Kutcher, then it probably doesn't belong regardless. --Ronz (talk) 23:32, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Decent

it says his father is of czech decent. hard to believe with a german name such as Kutcher. couldn't be more german if he tried. No 100% ethnic czech has a name like that and those czechs who have, if there are any, must have some ethnic german in them. on his mothers side german is mentioned. so it should also be mentioned on his fathers side. otherwise it sounds like a joke. I haven't had the chance to examine it very closely, but keep in mind that 1) people can change their identities to something completely different from their heritage, 2) there is the idea that this refers to partial ancestry rather than full ancestry for parents. You therefore cannot make definitive conclusions about ethnicity solely based on last names. That would be too presumptuous. Snuggums (talk / edits) 13:13, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

The article says Ashton Kutcher wrote that we do not need assault weapons. He actually said we do not need "these" weapons on his Twitter. This was in reference to the Last Vegas shooting. There is no idea what he truly meant because that person was using a bump stock which basically made it a machine gun. This article claims that The Butterfly Effect received "mixed to negative" reviews, whereas the film article states "Critical reception for The Butterfly Effect was generally poor".   Partly done I changed the "mixed to negative" bit. Since the use of "but" in that instance gave a misleading impression that earnings tend to be connected to reviews (they're actually separate matters), I got rid of that part. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 17:02, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
