How many students?

I think that the "Mission Impossible" segment of this article, while perhaps pertinent as part of a broader discussion of the cost of higher education in the developing world, has little relevance in this particular context and reveals bias on the part of the article's author.

The cost of tuition at AUC is astronomical compared to other "state" Univ's in Egypt. It is relevant, correct, valid and needs more elaboration.--Connection 11:27, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree with Connection, considering that the GDP per capita of Egypt is $4,200 (2006 est. - Cia Factbook). This obviously makes it impossible for none but the economic elite to afford tuition. This has cultural and demographic implications for the student body which reflects on AUCs culture and activities.Alefbetac 10:21, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Masonic lodge

Can somebody substantiate the claim that the university is host to Egypt's only Masonic lodge? I can't find any references on Google. --Abdousi 03:59, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Neutral (or otherwise) Point-of-View

I removed a comment regarding the NPOV from the top of this article, and replaced it with a template. I reproduce the original comment here so that it can be addressed. I have no opinion on the neutrality of this article.

Serious WP:POV

This article has all kinds of neutrality issues. As indicated in discussion above, this article has a confirmed conflict of interest. While references have been added, they are almost all from partisan sources. Intent of article's creation appears to be solely for advertising. Removal of Cited Material by AUC Representatives

I added information on deaths involving the construction of the new campus, which were removed despite being cited. I am assuming this is part of the non-neutral POV issue, but can someone please revert this and protect the page? Michael Sheflin (talk) 10:37, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

I am on staff at AUC and want to introduce myself. I have a number of additions I would like to make to the AUC page to document accreditation, academic and historical facts missing on the current AUC page. I will be citing sources and sticking to facts. January 25th Revolution

Please search for and add relevant connections between AUC and the protests of Jan 2011. I note that one student of the university is listed as killed during the violent phase of the protests. Hello Editing Team, as the university has marked 100 years in Egypt, as the university's marketing team we just wanted to update the history page with this important update. I have included the cited sources below.

In February 2019, the university celebrated its 100th year in Egypt. The university started the centennial year celebration in its historic Ewart Hall, with an event honoring its heritage through the past 100 years, followed by a day of entertainment for the university's community, their family and their friends . In February 2020, the university concluded its centennial year with a week long of celebratory events for the community.

Request Edit: Updating University History with 100 Year Mark (amended content)

Hello Editing Team, as the university has marked 100 years in Egypt, as the university's marketing team we just wanted to update the history page with this important update. I have included the cited sources below. We had previously shared the below content however we have now amended as per the editors' feedback.

In February 2019, the university celebrated its 100th year in Egypt. The university inaugurated its centennial year in the historic Ewart Hall at the old Campus in Tahrir Square which symbolizes its legacy in the presence of many distinguished faculty, alumni, students and staff. AUC also launched its centennial marketing campaign which featured many of its most prominent local and international alumni highlighting their success stories across many diverse fields. Some of these alumni are Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abudllah, Yuriko Koike Governor of Tokyo, Rana el Kaliouby CEO of Affective, Nicholas Kristof, Asser Yassin, Omar Samra, Minister Rania Al-Mashaat and many others. Throughout the year there were many different talks, lectures, events, videos and exhibitions showcasing the university's impact throughout the past 100 years and conveying its plans for the next 100 years which is in line with the Centennial tagline "AUC100; Be the Future". In February 2020, the university concluded its centennial year with a large community event at the New Campus which focused mainly on the future and the impact that AUC wishes to have in the next 100 years. It also launched phase two of the marketing campaign which highlighted the impact of AUC's faculty, alumni and students whose work is shaping the next 100 years.
