July 2019 edit

  Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. ElKevbo (talk) 11:16, 10 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

March 2020 edit

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ElKevbo (talk) 12:01, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Relationship with The American University in Cairo? edit

Do you have a relationship with The American University in Cairo? ElKevbo (talk) 12:02, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I am the marketing director there and the marketing team goes in to edit and adds credible sources. Can we understand why you keep removing them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dtiger1 (talkcontribs) 04:58, April 23, 2020 (UTC)
You and your colleagues should not be editing the article. Please review our policies about paid editing and conflicts of interest. ElKevbo (talk) 11:34, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

According to Wikipedia's guidelines, "paid editing" applies to contracted employees who are paid to edit Wikipedia pages or students editing Wikipedia pages to earn grades. According to Wikipedia guidelines, "content which often has to handled case-by-case as some of the edits are supported in policy as notable subjects with verifiable claims in reliable sources". The purpose of this is to have information be as accurate and non-promotional as possible. We are not contracted to edit the Wikipedia page, we are part of the communications team at the university and therefore we are responsible to verify all information representing the university and make sure it is up to date on all channels, one of which being the university's Wikipedia channel. Any information we add is unbiased and all already exists in online magazines and external sources (which we cite after everything we add). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.37.6.67 (talk) 16:35, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Updating the university's history with the university marking its 100th year in Egypt. I am part of AUC's marketing team and here are the sources we have for the content (all external online magazines): https://scoopempire.com/auc-celebrates-alumni-success-stories-in-motivational-video https://www.cairoscene.com/Events/135516-AUC-Centennial-Celebration-Week-Auc http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/363705.aspx

Here is the content we wanted to add:

In February 2019, AUC celebrated its 100th year in Egypt, serving as Egypt’s leading global university. AUC started the centennial year at its historic Ewart Hall, with the debut of the Be the Future centennial campaign, followed by a day of entertainment for the AUC community, family and friends to kick start a year of events and celebrations[1]. AUC concluded its centennial celebrations in February 2020, with a week long of celebratory events for the community, which included a 3D mapping on the AUC portal, the launch of the AUC Next 100 campaign and ending with a grand fireworks displayCite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/363705.aspx</ref>

Hi @Dtiger1: - Your request for edit needs to go on the article's talk page, not your personal talk page. I have removed the request from this page. Galendalia Talk to me CVU Graduate 19:01, 5 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
