Layout of this article

At least on my computer, this article is not confined to my wiki space, but goes off my screen to the right. The layout instructions are very complicated and I am not clear what to delete or change. Can anyone help? --Bduke (talk) 00:32, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for responding. The article is Wikipedia:WikiProject Scouting. There is quite a lot of odd code in it that I do not understand. I suspect that is the problem, but of course, it might not be a problem for everybody, including the editor that added it. This talk page is fine. It is not easy to show what I am seeing, if you are seeing Wikipedia:WikiProject Scouting fine. The code starting with:-:-

"{| style="background: transparent; width:100%"

is one that causes problems. What does this do, and why do we need it? The "Announcements" section is directly to the left of the "Watchlist of articles in need of attention" section. The "Article alerts" section is only about 17 characters wide and directly to the left of the "Deletions" section". Then the "Peer reviews" section is directly to the left of "Merges and renames" but wider. Further down the "Newest articles" section is directly to the left of the "Requested articles" and there is another example lower down the article. Good thought. It happens on Google Chrome, which I prefer, but not on Moxilla Firefox. I guess the code in the article is for Firefox. It still needs fixing. --Bduke (talk) 23:10, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Baron Baden-Powell merger proposal

User script to detect unreliable sources

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

• John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

• John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Map of council camps

I recently saw a thread on a Boy Scout Volunteer Facebook group that mentioned the best list of BSA camps is the List of council camps (Boy Scouts of America) article, but that it's cumbersome to view, especially on a phone.
