List of fungi of South Africa – P edit

For my sins I picked this as my first ce candidate. I’m South African so I thought I’d be patriotic about it. But (sic) it turns out to be a million line long list of fungi in SA starting with the letter “P”. 1. Why would someone GOCE tag this? 2. Can someone confirm that this, and it’s 25 siblings (A, B, C…) aren’t encyclopedic and should be deleted? 3. Can I get points for having scrolled through the list, and terrified myself that so many p-fungi are flying around me 😂. Ayenaee (talk) 20:35, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Ayenaee: That tag was placed here and it must have been in accordance with this edit to the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Guild_of_Copy_Editors/Database_Report, which guides us somewhat and whose relevant output is "v.Hohn.", "v.Hohn.", "v.Hohn.", "v.Hohn.", "v.Hohn.", "accpted", "sccepted". The latter two terms are obvious misspellings that still exist at the article. "v.Hohn" could refer to "variety" or to a researcher; I couldn't determine which. It possibly deserves a space to keep from being flagged as a mistake.
Our policy, IIRC, is not to give points for review (and you did miss the obvious misspellings, although you weren't given the cheat sheet that I just provided).
{{GOCEreviewed}} belongs on the talk page, with at least user and date parameters filled in.
Thank you for you efforts thus far. Dhtwiki (talk) 00:17, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I was joking about the points. I didn’t ce it at all. I think it and the others like it should be deleted. Ayenaee (talk) 01:43, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Requesting feedback on my CEs so far edit

Hi all,

Since I'm relatively new to copy-editing, I'd love to hear some feedback on what I've done on this drive so far. Green bank would be a good article to take a peek at if anyone's willing. I sometimes feel an urge to do deeper changes but I feel like I'll take days to get through one article if I do that, so I'm trying to focus on copy-editing at this point and maybe come back later to fix other issues, time permitting. Anyway, any feedback on whether I'm hitting the right notes will be welcome. Thanks in advance. Rkieferbaum (talk) 00:54, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your help. Judging by a quick look, your changes are pretty good overall; a fair number seem to only substitute synonyms, however, and one replaces sentence case (according to the source, which I didn't check) with title case – British English tends to use sentence case for titles, I think.
