Professional Teams

edit

The history of a team should not be divided, and we should merge La New Bears and First Financial Holding Agan, since they are essentially the same team that is owned by different boss. The same should be applied to Jungo Bears and Sinon Bulls. Kc0616 09:35, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I would agree on that.--Jerrch 20:04, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Both of them (La New Bears and First Financial Holding Agan) have been merged to Rakuten Monkeys. Chongkian (talk) 00:46, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

WP:Baseball

edit

I've added the line taiwan=yes into the baseball waikiproject banner. I put the flag of the republic of china. If this is unnecessery (i'm not all too familiar with the disputes over there), you may change it to something else.--Borgardetalk 05:48, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. It is alright to put the flag of the ROC. In the all-star game for the Minor leagues or whatever (I don't know the exact name), the Taiwanese players all had the flag of the ROC on their uniforms, so using that flag would be fine for me.--Jerrch 22:35, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chin-hui Tsao and Chin-Feng Chen

edit

There is some discussion about if they are Ami or Siraya. Can anyone fix that? --AW 15:12, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Chinese Wikipedia says that Chen is Siraya, and according to this, Tsao is Ami.--Jerrch 19:50, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Taiwan baseball project

edit

Hey guys I dunno if anyone knows this but there's this similar website. 台灣棒球維基館 Blueshirts 21:00, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

There's an article about it too: Wikibaseball.--Jerrch 00:23, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Assessment

edit

Just though I should let the contributors of this project know that the {{Baseball-WikiProject}} template now incorporates task force assessment. So now, in baseball in general the CPBL may be considered Mid to High importance, whereas in Taiwan it is of Top importance. You would assess it as follows {{Baseball-WikiProject|class=Start|importance=Mid|taiwan=yes|taiwan-importance=Top}}. I'm going to update the instructions of the assessment shortly so everybody is clear on it.--Borgardetalk 11:47, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Project for you

edit

If anyone on this Project is looking for a project, please add the annual final standings and play-off results to each "year in baseball" page. There is a page for each year that is supposed to be for baseball throughout the world, but it so far mainly focuses on US baseball. It would be much appreciated if someone could add Taiwanese baseball info to the pages. Regards.--Old Hoss 04:09, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Roster template

edit

I'm working over on the Australian task force, and have been doing a lot with the Australia national baseball team article. In trying to get the article up to a similar standard to the other Australian sporting team articles, maybe even higher, I wanted to put in some reference to the current or most recent team. I knew there were roster templates, but none of the ones I found seemed quite right for an international team - most of them had references to disabled lists, transactions, etc. So I decided to create one of my own, located here. I've made everything I can think of in the template optional, so if they don't apply in certain circumstances, or aren't announced yet, they don't have to be specified:

  • 'TournamentName'
  • 'Date'
  • 'ProvisionalPlayers'
  • 'Manager'
  • 'Coaches'
  • 'DH'

If any of the above aren't used, then the template will adjust itself accordingly - at least as far as I can tell from my testing of it. Also, there are other optional elements:

  • Pitchers can be specified using either 'Pitchers', or a combination of 'Starters', 'Bullpen' & 'Closer' ('Closer' is optional)
  • The colour of the headers can be changed from the default greys, so they match the style of the MLB rosters, using 'FC1', 'BC1', 'FC2' & 'BC2' - FC=text colour, BC=background colour, 1=1st line, 2=2nd line
  • The header names for the three sections can be changed from the defaults, using 'ActiveAlt', 'ProvisionalAlt' & 'CoachesAlt'

I'm putting this on all 3 national task force pages (I know there are 4, but I don't think anyone else is active on the Australian one) so I can get some feedback - there's no international task force for baseball, and I've not gotten much interest when I've posted on the main project's talk page for international stuff. Assuming I get some positive responses I'll put it in the template namespace and we can start using it on national team pages, and maybe even for the tournament All Star teams that get selected at the WBC. Leave feedback here, or on my talk page, and let's see what happens. Thanks  Afaber012  (talk)  08:28, 11 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Help please - Unreferenced BLPs!

edit

During the past year, some dedicated editors have been trying to reference all biographies of living people. Sometimes, we come across a batch of articles that are very hard for English speakers to reference. Taiwanese baseballers are very hard for non-Chinese speakers to reference! So if someone could either find a reliable source (not a blog or other wiki site) that can reference the following players, it would be very helpful. Our current task is to clear all articles from Category:Unreferenced BLPs from August 2009, but eventually we will need to clear every month. Thanks, The-Pope (talk) 14:24, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Colors for template

edit

Can someone update Lamigo's colors for the player infobox? Thanks.--Jerrch 05:31, 18 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, can you specify which is Lamigo's article? Because I couldn't find it in Wikipedia. Or it is Rakuten Monkeys? Because it looks like it has been redirected. Chongkian (talk) 00:41, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Pingtung Baseball Field

edit

The article Pingtung Baseball Field has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references found no published WP:RS works referencing this subject, fails WP:N, the Taiwan language article does not contain WP:RS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

edit

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
