All you need to know edit

  • Date and Time: Friday, 24 November 2006, 3:00pm (1500). You may join in or leave during the evening where we go for dinner.
  • Who?: Anyone who wants to attend and have fun!
  • Venues: Afternoon venue at VivoCity; Evening venue Newton Food Centre. Restaurants or cafes anyone? Suggestions include: Sakae Sushi, NYDC, Swensen's, Jack's Place, Crystal Jade, Cafe Cartel or Food Republic, anyone?? Those willing to chope tables will be greatly appreciated.
  • How to get there: Take North East Line to HarbourFront MRT Station and use Exit E to VivoCity. For Newton, take North South Line to Newton MRT Station and find the exit towards Environment Building and Newton Food Centre. Use footpath to hawker centre.
  • For the 3.00 pm event, meet at HarbourFront MRT Station Control Station, not VivoCity.
I support VivoCity. It's a more novel place for us, plus we can sit around at the playground doing nothing in particular. Orchard's fine too, though.—Goh wz 16:57, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Heh, becoming kids again. Yeah? Vivo's too crowded to really sit down and chat. IMO. Let's see how first. If it's a larger group maybe somewhere more comfortable. --Terence Ong (C | R) 17:04, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Wah lau, I'm tired of going Vivo leh...Got anywhere else ornot? - Mailer Diablo 01:19, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • See how lor, Vivo big, but darn crowded. Orchard ah, some may feel that it is a daylight robbery. Any suggestions where to sit down and chit chat. If not we go somewhere like Swensen's or Haagen Dazs talk lor. --Terence Ong (C | R) 04:05, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
As I mentioned to Terence, I seriously think the best place for a good chat is someone's house when no one's at home. A chat over the dining table would be ideal. As well, the person's place should be close to the city so that it's convenient for all of us. It's difficult to find public place to have a good chat sans the noise and all. —Goh wz 16:06, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't think one of us don't want strangers in one of our homes. --Terence Ong (C | R) 15:50, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
This is really interesting. A change in venue at the last moment and no doubt I couldn't meet up. I suggest that we should confirm the place and time at least three days before the planned meetup. --Russianroulette2004 11:18, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
It was always Vivo, just a change in meeting venue. Will try to finalise, but the nature of most SGpedians' do things at the eleventh hour, so I can't plan anything. --Terence Ong (C | R) 17:06, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pre-meetup plan edit

Anyone who wants to kill time before 3pm can meet at City Hall MRT Station at 9:00am sharp and shall proceed from there. Photography venues as unknown of now. Possibly Changi Village-Changi Airport, Tampines-Pasir Ris-Simei, Katong-Marine Parade, Little India-Balestier Road, Jurong-Singapore Science Centre or Chinese and Japanese Gardens or Sentosa. Lunch will be included in the schedule, unknown dining venue so far.

Finalised: Changi Village or Singapore Changi Airport from 1000 to 1200; Either Katong or Marine Parade from 1300 to 1430. Those attending the photo session will be attending the meet at 1530.

Count me in. —Goh wz 16:35, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Attendees for lunch edit

Plan B edit

If the weather is bad, this is how it goes. For pre-meetup (before 3pm), we will be going to be at Parkway Parade during lunch hour (1200 to 1400). After that, we will go to National Library to do articles for our Wikipedia articles. There we will meet those who are coming at 1500 in the library and we will sit down discuss and do article writing. Later, we shall proceed to VivoCity and eat. If weather is okay, then we will go to Newton Food Centre.

My suggestion has been adopted as the rainy-day plan. At the library, we can find non-web references such as newspapers, magazines and books. The Homerun (film) article could do with some references. I think the library offers Internet access, so we could work on our Singapore-related Wikipedia articles. I am particularly interested in improving I Not Stupid to GA standards. I hope it rains, or even if it doesn't, we go to the library after lunch and leave before 3pm. --J.L.W.S. The Special One 14:44, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
