Hello all. I do not wish to reveal my real name, but you know my user name as Russianroulette2004. I am eighteen years old and am currently residing in Singapore. I joined this community sometime in June 2005.

Academic Interests

edit

My interests are varied. I demonstrate an aptitude in Chemistry and Mathematics. I hope to become a scientist or a businessman in the future. Despite my immense interest in these two fields, I have not contributed any article with relation to them on Wikipedia, as I feel that I do not have all the specific details on them, and some of them are already well-written and corroborate with what I read.

I read up books during my spare time, such as guides to General Paper, Organic Chemistry by L. G. Wade Jr. and Mathematical Olympiad books.

Other Interests

edit

Below highlights several of my other interests, well though I am pretty not very interested in the technical details:

Good aspects of the MTR include the dynamic in-train map (which SMRT tries to imitate with a similar but cheaper variation), retrofitting of a few of its M Stock into its dedicated Disneyland Resort Line trains and its efficiency.

  • Exploring and travelling - I have kind of explored Singapore in various ways over the years. During my spare time, I sometimes go for joyrides around Singapore on the buses and trains. Some examples include:
1. Taking bus service 88 to view Hougang (January 2003)
2. Taking bus service 28 to view Circle Line works at Upper Paya Lebar Road (late 2003)
3. Taking a joy ride with Calvin on the North South Line and East West Line to CG2 Changi Airport (7 November 2004)
4. Taking a joy ride with Calvin on the North South Line to NS27 Marina Bay (2005)
5. Taking bus service 156 with Calvin and Cheng Xiang to get to NUS (below transferring to 96) (2006)
6. Taking a joy ride on the Punggol LRT East Loop to view developments in Punggol (21 May 2006)
7. Walking from EW15 Tanjong Pagar to NE1 HarbourFront while exploring Cantonment Heights and Vivocity, then under construction (24 June 2006)
8. Walking from National Library to EW15 Tanjong Pagar to view One Raffles Quay, then also under construction (August 2006)
9. Taking bus service 147 with Calvin to get a taste of the B9TL and simultaneously explore Bukit Merah and Serangoon (9 November2006)
10. Taking a joy ride on the Sengkang LRT West Loop to view the North East Line depot and the side platforms at SW5 Fernvale (24 November 2006)
11. Taking bus service 157 to get to NUS (below transferring to 151) (9 January 2007)
12. Taking bus service 86 from Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange to Jalan Kayu to have a meal of roti prata, after which I took the Sengkang LRT at SW4 Thanggam (11 February 2007)
13. Taking bus service 88 on a B9TL from Bishan Road to Sengkang to take a peek at North Eastern areas (31 July 2007)
14. Taking bus service 100 on a Scania K230UB (24 December 2007)

Somehow they coincide with Calvin's interests. lol!

I learnt Contract Bridge before I turned 16. While I had previously played Floating Bridge before, Contract Bridge really requires more skills and intelligence in order to make the contract, whilst Floating Bridge usually hinges upon luck. I cannot be considered as an advanced or professional player, as I am still learning the various skills such as correctly bidding and playing each trick.

Before playing the real version, I used to visit Shockwave.com and Yahoo! Games to play eight-ball billiards. However, they do not provide me with the necessary skills and techniques to play the proper version of billiards, though I am equipped with the rules thereafter. I play pool once in a while with my friends for entertainment purposes, and my skills are average.

Wikipedia and me

edit

During my spare time, I will read articles on Wikipedia with regard to the MTR or the Singapore MRT. I have contributed my self-created map (edited by Kah Hou and Meow.wang) for the article on Singapore MRT and also various sister articles such as the rolling stock on the MRT articles:

In addition, I have launched various sub-articles with regard to the Mass Rapid Transit system and the complementary Light Rapid Transit system. I am happy to be able to contribute my knowledge and experience from taking the MRT since I was four onto this public-based encyclopedia.

Other than the MRT and LRT, I have edited other articles where I have first-hand accounts or experiences.
