Nominator posts to user talk pages edit

Nominator has posted to ten (10) user talk pages. Not sure if any of them were previously involved with prior review of this article, but wanted to note this here. I notify prior users only if they were involved in prior stages of review of an article, like peer review. Not sure if that's what's going on here, or not? — Cirt (talk) 01:21, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

I notified users that actively contribute to basketball-related articles and users that have previously reviewed FA candidates. I was not sure if this was against the rules, but let me know if it is. TempleM (talk) 11:15, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
"users that have previously reviewed FA candidates" that is a much too wide scope. Presumably you could be notifying hundreds of people with that definition of scope. Best to keep it to: Prior WP:GA reviewer, prior peer review contributors, and prior WP:GOCE copy editors. — Cirt (talk) 16:47, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Cirt: Sorry if I was too vague, but what I meant was that those users were involved in a previous FA that I nominated about a basketball player a few months ago. TempleM (talk) 20:22, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Was I involved in that? What was the link to the previous FA, please? — Cirt (talk) 20:23, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Cirt: You can find the nomination here. You said that you stumbled upon it, but you did provide some good feedback, so I thought you might be interested in this one. Most of the users I contacted for this nomination participated in that one, but I also posted on the talk pages of some users active in basketball-related articles. @TempleM: My apologies, I had not recalled that prior history. Perhaps in the future I just suggestion you mention to those people why the connection to the review process going forwards. Good luck, — Cirt (talk) 23:05, 23 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
