January 21 edit

Request on 01:17:09, 21 January 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Clenisha Halo edit

Hi, Do you have a sample I can follow?

Clenisha Halo (talk) 01:17, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Clenisha - This Lauryn Hill rapper's article would be a good example. Well-sourced, properly cited and no embedded links. It's been rated a Good Article, so you don't need to aim that high just yet, but it does show you how to source your draft. All the best. KJP1 (talk) 08:31, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The page I created was declined but I can nowhere find the reason why. Could you please give a hint what I need to change? Arevikharutyunyan (talk) 13:00, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The page appears to be just a promotional document for a company. Wikipedia doesn't publish such material. Has the company been written about in independent WP:Reliable sources? If it has, then scrap what you know, and just summarise what these sources say. If not then there will never be a Wikipedia article on the topic. Sorry to disappoint you. Inadequate reliable sources? edit

I don’t understand why my article lacks reliable sources because the information was extracted from the official website. Also, there weren’t any alternative sources available. Phoebebmcc (talk) 09:10, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moved from WT:IRCHELP. Page being asked about is Draft:British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce. Primefac (talk) 15:24, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Phoebebmcc. The reviewer may have inadvertently selected the wrong reason for declining the draft. The organization is a reliable source about the organization. However, articles must be based mainly on independent sources. The draft doesn't cite any independent sources. You write that there weren't any alternative sources available. In that case the orgranization is not notable, in other words it does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion as the topic of a stand alone article. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:28, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

18:23:25, 21 January 2018 review of submission by Jomo76 edit

Please clarify the reason for the decline of this article. I have endeavoured to adhere to all wikipedia's guidelines and rules. I believe the content of the article (the businessman Danny Lucas) is of suitable notability. I have provided numerous quality references and ensured the article is unbiased, accurate and fair.

Thanks in advance. Jomo76 (talk) 18:23, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jomo76 - Not an answer but a quick request for clarification of my own. Your sole focus on Wikipedia is on this guy, his companies, Lucas (contractor), or his products, Muralplast. Do you have a connection, either professional or personal and, if you do, why is it not declared as per Wikipedia:Conflict of interest? KJP1 (talk) 22:50, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Primefac, Jomo76 - Thanks for acknowledging and registering your paid connection with Lucas Contracting. I don't know where that leaves the two existing articles, Lucas (contractor) and Muralplast, both of which you created without disclosing the paid connection, so I've copied in a more experienced editor who will know what's appropriate to do. As to your draft, Draft:Danny_Lucas_(businessman), the COI is declared so reviewing editors can take a view. Regards. KJP1 (talk) 17:57, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The declaration has been made at both articles, so I don't see any issues there. As for the draft, yes, it will be reviewed in due time. Primefac (talk) 16:30, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely fine - of course, the declarations weren't there when the articles were created, and haven't been for the last seven years but All's Well That Ends Well. KJP1 (talk) 23:08, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
