July 20 edit

02:27:56, 20 July 2017 review of submission by Mfausset edit

The Storage Networking Industry Association is a non-profit data storage standards organization. We're not trying to sell anyone anything, but we do want people to be able to research our newest standard called SNIA Swordfish on Wikipedia. Our submission has been denied four times. We've taken every possible promotional word out of the text and have eliminated most all SNIA references. We have great external sources including Forbes magazine. Can you advise why we keep getting rejected and be as specific as possible? Thank you. Mfausset (talk) 02:27, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Mfausset: You write "we" and "our". The policy on Wikipedia is "one user—one account". Usernames should not be shared by multiple individuals.
Wikipedia is not for promotion (commercial or otherwise) or "getting the word out", so it's not simply a matter of taking specific words out of the draft, but of whether an article should exist on the topic at all.
The "great" sources you think you have are not so great. See my comments on the draft. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:10, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a compound which can not be seperated by any chemical means (exeptions). 61.3.63.230 (talk) 10:53, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This page is for questions about the Articles for creation process. Please consider asking this question at the Wikipedia:Reference desk. They specialize in knowledge questions and will try to answer any question in the universe (except how to use Wikipedia, since that is what the Help Desk is for). Just follow the link, select the relevant section, and ask away. You could always try searching Wikipedia for an article related to the topic you want to know more about. I hope this helps.

This post is not an article but a side comment on the Wikipedia entry "Spinosad."

Juanitapat (talk) 12:45, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Juanitapat. This page is for questions about the Articles for creation process. If you would like to discuss how to improve the article Spinosad, the place to do so is Talk:Spinosad. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:28, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

My article was rejected because of a sourcing issue. Can you please specify the poor sources in the article? Thanks!

SethGrundhoefer (talk) 14:01, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SethGrundhoefer. It's easier to specify the good source, there's only one: [1]. The bulk of the article should be based on independent, reliable, secondary sources like it. Novice editors are usually advised to cite at least three such sources.
Being on a top nn or fastest-growing list carries very little weight. It shouldn't be mentioned unless someone other than the lister and listee have taken note of it. Instead focus on the accomplishment(s), if any, that landed them on the list. The subject and their company, or sources that simply repeat their words with no third-party analysis, are not independent. Sources that have no reputation for accuracy and fact checking (dentaltown, 1si.org, and partnercon.infusionsoft.com) are not reliable sources. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:05, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Staceyvee (talk) 14:24, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell me why my article "Leonard Walters" was declined

Hi Staceyvee. It was declined for the reason stated on your talk page and within the big pink box at the top of the draft. All content on Wikipedia must be verifiable. Furthermore, for biographies of living people, any statement likely to be challenged (which in practice means almost everything) must be supported by an inline citation to a reliable source. The draft uses no inline citations. It cites a single source, Wikipedia, which is not a reliable source because it is user-generated.
There may be an even more fundamental problem with the topic, it may not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. In addition to the general guideline there are specific guidelines for people notable for accomplishments in sport, journalism, and music. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:19, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

17:03:41, 20 July 2017 review of submission by Prwriter edit

My article was declined for a company named AmCheck. I couldn't find more resources. Prwriter (talk) 17:03, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Prwriter. If there aren't sufficient independent, reliable, secondary sources containing significant coverage of the company, it shouldn't have an article in Wikipedia. Most companies shouldn't. See WP:BFAQ#COMPANY. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:55, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
