How to connect new article in English to the existing article about the same topic in the other language? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ngaetra (talkcontribs) 09:02, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That should not be done until the draft is accepted as a full article. When it is, you'll see a "Languages" section in the left sidebar, and an option to "Add links". You may want to check out the foreign-language article instead; it may already have a list of linked languages and you can simply add a link to the English article there. See WP:WikiData for more details. Huon (talk) 21:23, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Paturi Sitaramanjaneyulu edit

This is regarding the article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Paturi Sitaramanjaneyulu

Sarah, I have included reliable sources as listed below. Also provided copies of those to one of the previous reviewers. If you want I can send the copies to you too. But they are all in Telugu.

"Nenu Choosina Mahathmulu" , Article by Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma (in Telugu) , Rushipeetam Magazine (Valume No:13 , Issue No:5) , Dec 2011. “Mahapanditulu Paturi Kannumoota”, Telugu new paper Vaartha, Dec 30 2007, page 18"

Yet those are not the sources referred to throughout the draft. The reliable third-party sources should be what the content is actually based on, not something added as an afterthought. Huon (talk) 21:23, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good afternoon,

I drafted an article on the European Railway Award last week.

13:13, 28 June 2013 (diff | hist) . . (+2,230)‎ . . N Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The European Railway Award ‎

Would it be possible to publish it?

Many thanks in advance,

CERcom

That draft currently is not submitted for a review; you can submit it via the green "Submit your draft when you are ready for it to be reviewed!" button or by adding {{subst:submit}} to the very top. However, it currently doesn't cite any reliable sources that are independent of the subject; we need significant coverage in such sources to establish that the award is notable enough for an encyclopedia article. Huon (talk) 21:23, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your answer. I submitted it and I also added some press articles to ensure the coverage. CERcom (talk) 12:09, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Tanya "Sweet Tee" Winley

Hi there:

I'm trying to publish an article on one of the (if not the) earliest female rappers – Tanya "Sweet Tee" Winley. She is the daughter of Paul Winley of Winley Records (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winley_Records).

My article has been declined for the second time; my "references do not adequately evidence the subject's notability," I'm told.

I have included four reliable sources – all books – and allude to Tanya's notability with a comparison of other early rappers. Though her career was short-lived, she was a substantial contribution to the emergence of rap and hip-hop. Moreover, on "Winley Records" Wikipedia page, there is a lengthy section on his involvement with rap music, most of which revolves around his daughter, Tanya. I think it's time for Tanya to have her own Wikipedia entry.

Is there a member who can review my page who know something about rap music, and who can see the importance of this article? Do I not make it clear enough that she is notable? How many sources are adequate?

Thanks very much. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best, Zoë

At least one of those sources, The Rough Guide To Hip Hop 2nd ed. doesn't seem to discuss the article's subject at all. Can't Stop Won't Stop: A History of the Hip Hop Generation mentions Tanya once in passing, but it doesn't confirm what it's cited for. Unless The Big Payback: This History of the Business of Hip-Hop covers her in greater detail than is apparent, that leaves us with but a single detailed source - that's not enough to meet the "significant coverage" threshold of notability, and I don't see which of the more detailed criteria of WP:MUSIC Tanya Winley is supposed to satisfy. Hello, I recently received feedback on an article I sent in for submission about artist Beau Dick. I was told the sources were fairly good but that I needed stronger ones. I was wondering if I could have some clarification on which citations, or at least what sort of citations, were the problem. This is my first attempt to submit something to Wikipedia before so I'm new to the whole thing. Thank you Sionsays88 (talk) 19:20, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If I understand the reviewer's comment correctly, it's not so much the quality of individual sources (though the various gallery websites are of dubious reliability) but the fact that some paragraphs and sections cite no sources at all, especially the "Exhibitions" and parts of the "Artistry" section. Unsure what I need to add or change edit

Hi, I've just attempted to submit my first submission Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Lisa Newman-Morris and it has been rejected. I am not sure what else I need to do to edit it so that it is accepted. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Eljaytee (talk) 22:46, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've done some copyediting, both to tidy up the layout and to have your references actually be displayed. However, the vast majority of your sources are either not independent (such as, say, Newman-Morris' own website), or they don't cover her in any appreciable detail. In particular, Wikipedia does not consider itself a reliable source. What we're looking for are articles in newspapers or reputable sports magazines, sources that are subject to editorial oversight and have a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. Newman-Morris should pass the notability criteria easily, but the content must still be verifiable from reliable third-party sources. Huon (talk) 23:44, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much Huon. Would it best best if I just removed most of the references such as Newman-Morris' own website and the wikipedia references? Do I then need to remove that section of text where I've used those references? Really appreciate any more help you can give as this is the first time I've done this. Thanks again.
