Template:Flying Fifteen World Championship medallists edit

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the template(s) or module(s) below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review).

The result of the discussion was subst and delete. No opposition, reasonable nomination, and a past precedent of not keeping single-transclusion templates such as this in the template space. Due to low participation this can be considered a soft deletion. Primefac (talk) 02:23, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This template presents tables that should be in article text and not presented as a template, as per Wikipedia:Template namespace#Guidelines. Of concern the information presented is unsourced and fails WP:V. It has been tagged as unsourced for and sources have not been added. The template was started by an editor who is no longer active on Wikipedia. Ahunt (talk) 22:59, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Primefac (talk) 02:21, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No one literally uses this template to use their signature. The only way users sign their name and time would usually use "~~~~". Also, a template for this was created 6 months ago. Seventyfiveyears (talk) 16:38, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: It is useful when typing in CJK with full-width characters. — Twassman [Talk·Contribs] 22:50, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (edit conflict) Per Twassman, this template should be kept, but {{4~}} produces the same output when substituted, so redirect to that template once we clarify in the documentation that it can also be used to sign your posts through substituting. Keep per Twassman, don’t merge per Sdkb, and also because I’m concerned that something like this could happen in the future if a merge occurred.Use {{re|PorkchopGMX}} to ping (Push to talk) 22:56, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to Template:4~ * Pppery * it has begun... 04:15, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Twassman; I don't see this doing any harm. It would be nice to merge to {{4~}} if possible, but the functionality does seem to be slightly different: this one requires substitution and yells at you if you try to transclude, whereas 4~ produces ~~~~ when transcluded. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 00:30, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, as it has the subst warning whereas 4~ doesn't as per Sdkb. Though maybe a WP:PHAB request to make 4 full width tildes also make signatures would be better? Jumpytoo Talk 04:38, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
