I, 71.251.2.193, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. 71.251.2.193 (talk) 14:57, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Ylilauta

This article was deleted for the following reason: "Expired PROD, concern was: Lacks evidence of notability, the only source is a link to Alexa.".

I think the claim of a lack of notability is contestable because:

  • The subject of the article is a very high traffic online community and is furthermore the largest one in its country, it has at least non-negligible national importance and high thematic importance concerning the topics of history and sociology of online communites.
  • The subject of the article has received multiple and significant media attention in its country (as this was mentioned in the article and documented informally elsewhere).
  • At an international scale, the subject of the article has non-negligible impact on the Internet culture. -Crou (talk) 20:19, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
There are several examples of media coverage in the sources of the Finnish article: https://translate.google.fr/translate?hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&sl=fi&tl=en&u=https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ylilauta
The Encyclopedia Dramatica page contains a summarization of the historical growth of the community and of occasions it received media attention but I gave up linking to it as the MediaWiki blacklist didn't seem wanting to let me do that. --Crou (talk) 20:59, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

This page was deleted under CSD criteria G5, however I noticed on the showcase at WP:X that it was a GA. I know that the creator did it while blocked but I would question why Wikipedia should lose the article that had been judged to be of GA status over the editor's misdemeanours. For it was him who did wrong, not the article. I would ask if it could be undeleted or at least if it could be userfied into my space so that I could make edits to it so that WP doesn't lose that article. - The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:18, 1 November 2015 (UTC) The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:18, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

@The C of E: this is difficult. On the one hand, WP:BMB is clear that we should not allow banned users to circumvent their ban by keeping their "good" edits, this is a checkuser block, and from discussions here and here it is clear that the sock-master in this case has been a cause of major problems including hoax articles; on the other, this article does look OK, and the author is vigorously denying on his talk page that he is a sock, and has emailed Arbcom. I will pass this decision to the deleting admin, Sphilbrick, who is already discussing similar issues at User talk:Winkelvi#G5 category. JohnCD (talk) 17:36, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
@JohnCD: I thought there would be something like that that might have caused a problem. Personally in my view a better way to deal with things like this would be keep the good edits but move/rename the editor to something like "XXXXXXX (confirmed sock)" or "XXXXXX (blocked indefinitely)" so that all know where the edits have come from and that there is little recourse from the blocked if any editors make any changes. I would still like to see if this article could be revived/userfied so it isn't lost so I'll wait for @Sphilbrick: to respond. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 17:43, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
The trouble with that is that if a banned editor can simply ignore his ban and carry on editing, creating a new sock whenever one is blocked, it makes the ban completely toothless and removes any incentive for the banned editor to mend his ways, ask for an unblock and rejoin the fold as a reformed character. JohnCD (talk) 17:55, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
I'm hard-pressed to come up with a response better than John CDs. My goal is to reflect the community's wishes on situations such as this. On the one hand, it seems absurd to remove a good article from the encyclopedia. Our ultimate goal ought to be to our readership, and the decision to delete, at least temporarily deprives them of one of our better articles.
On the other hand, while we hold ourselves out as the encyclopedia that "anyone can edit", there are a myriad of reasons why we need to have some rules about editing. When some editor refuses to follow these rules and that refusal reaches a point that their overall actions as an editor are a net detriment to the project, we may ban them from contributing. That ban is toothless if we decide that edits made in violation of the ban are okay. For most editors, we already have the broad rule that good edits are okay and bad edits are not okay. However, we occasionally have editors whose presence is so problematic that we no longer apply the general rule "keep the good edits and revert the bad edits" and reach a community decision that they should no longer contribute (at least until such time as they agree to follow the rules and can be reinstated). If we find that an editor has circumvented the block or ban and made some edits while banned, it may seem on the surface like we are hurting ourselves by removing those edits, but if we don't, we basically sending the message that we pretend you are banned but go ahead and circumvent it and we won't mind. That's a recipe for long-term headaches.
All that said, our policies are not a suicide pact. We can imagine situations where we might choose to retain something created by a banned user. Imagine, as a hypothetical, that one of our most transcluded templates was created by a banned user. Simply deleting it would be a major problem. Furthermore, it seems plausible that a banned user still attempting to write articles wants to be able to point to an article and show others that they are the author. While they technically could do this with a template, I don't think the average reader of our encyclopedia would be impressed by learning that a commonly used template was written by so-and-so. For that reason, I'm fine with the exception to G5 for highly transcluded templates.
I'm not quite as clear on the rationale for the exception when it comes to useful categories. I may be straying off the narrow topic here but I'm in discussion with another editor about how to handle a category created by this editor. I may post something to ANI to get broader input.
I see the suggestion that the editor could be renamed to something else, presumably to partially deprive them of the credit. I'm not sure we have the authority to do that and would definitely want more feedback before pursuing that option.
In summary, my current position is that I think the community feels the need to have substance in its banning policy, and restoring this article would contravene the substance of that policy. I don't plan to restore the article unless I hear clear community support for creating a special exception.--S Philbrick(Talk) 19:24, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
I am unhappy with the deletion of any article which has been attested GA quality by a critical competent reviewer, depriving readers of good content, and said so on your talk in more detail. I think keeping such an article should be the rule, not an exception. We don't eliminate the contributions of a banned editor, right? - In this case, the article editor claims additionally that he is no sock, and approached arbcom. AGF? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:38, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
If any person is willing to take responsibility for the article I think it can be restored. The original sockmaster created hoaxes, and likely used fake or dubious self published sources. So fakery could be checked out in this page. And the original problematic sockmaster is identified in RL, so socking should be easy to disprove or confirm. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:24, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
That's what I had suggested in my original request that I would be happy to have it userfied into my space to check it out or restored to its original place so all can contribute. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk)

rick kimball

I based my decision to make the article given there are many VC's on wiki with similar backgrounds. What is notable about Kimball is he has brought many top household names to the public market e.g. Godaddy, Eharmony, Netflix etc. and as a result he is responsible for some of the culture today with the internet business fascination. Such financiers are notable and are the JP Morgan's of today.   Not done and will not be done. This Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rick Kimball, it cannot be undeleted through this process.

Additionally, this was a blatant copyright violation, infringing on the content of multiple sources. I have noted this in the deleted page's history.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 09:46, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

  • Enviro19, the page was fairly promotional in tone. There was also a concern that it's a WP:NEOLOGISM that was fairly recently created, so I'm not sure that this can really be improved to pass notability guidelines. It might be better to create an article about the company itself (Singer Environmental) if it passes notability guidelines for businesses/corporations. Hello,

There was a page for Beatrice International Models which has been deleted recently. I checked the page on wikiwand and it seems that in september someone intentionally wanted to delete the pages and requested deletion from 3-4 fake profiles. The 3-4 requests were submitted in within 2 days.

I would kindly like to let you know that Beatrice International Models or Beatrice Models still exists. Beatrice Models was established in 1976. The website is www.beatricemodels.it. The agency has worked with top celebrities. You can find the links of those pages.

May I kindly ask you to re-instate the pages please ?

Regards

Image was used in draft now published so now used so WP:F5 reason now invaild -KylieTastic (talk) 15:06, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

@KylieTastic: I have restored the first of the images (the reason it's still red-linked is that you did not include "File:" in the link). Assuming there's no free images to use (I took a quick look but did not find any), one low-res image of him at the top of the article appears to me to meet the fair use criteria. I don't see how a second image is really needed to convey further and significant encyclopedic understanding, context, and doesn't violate minimal use (WP:NFCC#8, WP:NFCC#3). I thought at first this image might not contain a photograph and so tried to suss out whether it was in the public domain as an Iranian government work, but was unsuccessful. For example, Commons:Copyright rules by territory#Iran does not help. But then I located the image card itself, and it has a photograph – one for which we have no idea of the origin – so at best the card should be assumed a derivative work (so whether the non-photographic portion is PD is irrelevant). Always happy to hear anyone else's take on the fair use issue of course. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:19, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

numerous hits on the reliable video game sources custom search and other reliable news outlets (best results when searching for "Maelk") -Prisencolin (talk) 08:59, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

  • Prisencolin, this was deleted at AfD back in 2011 by Davewild, so this can't be restored here. If Davewild doesn't respond (which is possible, since he hasn't edited since the beginning of September) then you can always take this to WP:DRV. What I'd recommend in the meantime is that you look into working on an article at WP:AfC. The previously deleted version of the article would need some work even if it was restored since it was almost entirely unsourced and some of the information was slightly casual in tone.
Right now what you can do is gather sources to show where Toft-Andersen has received coverage in independent and reliable sources. (These would be the sources you'd bring to DRV and/or use in an AfC article.) It'd be best if you highlighted specific articles rather than directing us to search for them ourselves. I hate to say it, but you can't guarantee that everyone will do as good of a search as they should. Some will actually take a bit of exception to being told to look for sources if none are provided at DRV. Offhand I am seeing some sources that give a mild assertion for notability, but not an overwhelming assertion - which is why you'd really need if you went to DRV. In that case is it possible that the page could be restored and merged into Elements (League of Legends), the team for which he is currently the manager of?--Prisencolin (talk) 01:38, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
@Tokyogirl79: Could I request that the article be userfied under the title of "/maelk"?--Prisencolin (talk) 09:49, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Tapflo

Wanting to userfy for possible improvement at Draft:Tapflo. I am a paid employee of Tapflo UK and have declared this. Thank you -  samtar {t} 12:22, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

@Samtar:   Not done. The version deleted in 2010 was far too promotional to restore: "Tapflo - your reliable pumpchoice... we have always had our winning concept in mind... We are always keenly aware of new requirements and ideas... " etc. Anything like that is deleted from Wikipedia at sight: it would not be a useful basis for an article. Work on your new draft at Draft:Tapflo, and read WP:Your first article, WP:Neutral point of view and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide for advice. Don't copy from the company website, which would be (a) a copyright problem and (b) in the wrong tone. Note particularly that you need references showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary source to establish Wikipedia:Notability. JohnCD (talk) 13:20, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
@JohnCD: many thanks, I was curious how terrible the previous article was, and if there was any salvageable content. Cheers   samtar {t} 13:32, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Orchestral hammer

This was a short article about a percussion instrument used in at least two standard works in the classical music repertoire. The information about it is no longer on Wikipedia except that it is referred to in articles on those two works. I don't know why the article was deleted; possibly for lack of citations, in which case I can supply some (e.g. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/classical/news/why-a-huge-mallet-takes-centre-stage-in-gustav-mahlers-symphony-no-6-a6725856.html). The article may have been called 'Orchestra hammer'. -Vhk10 (talk) 17:24, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

@Vhk10: There isn't any article called "Orchestral hammer" in the deleted history of the English Wikipedia. There is an "Orchestral percussion" in there, but its revision history contained only random characters and a link to the article Percujove about a youth percussion orchestra. I don't see an article by that name in AFC or Draft space either. Feel free to create the article yourself. ~Amatulić (talk) 18:17, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Caroline Mulroney

I requested the revision history of the deleted Caroline Mulroney be grafted to the beginning of User:Geo Swan/Caroline Mulroney, at WP:Deletion review/Log/2015 November 1#Caroline Mulroney. It was closed as approving history merging, and possibly, restoration to article space. But the actual history merge didn't happen. I'd appreciate that history merge. -Geo Swan (talk) 20:12, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

party never ends

I don't know why this article was deleted. It had information regarding Inna's third studio album with background information, release information, the tracklisting and credits etc. Please can this be restored? Thank you. -Lion01 21 (talk) 22:02, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

@Lion01 21:   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Party Never Ends, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Randykitty (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. See WP:NALBUMS for the notability requirement for an album to have a stand-alone article. JohnCD (talk) 22:29, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Note: This page has been deleted multiple times as an abandoned draft article. As Articles for creation, the Draft space, and user subpages are not to be used to indefinitely host material inappropriate for the encyclopedia, what exactly would you do to help make the draft get accepted as an article? There is one G13 deletion apiece at WT:Articles for Creation/ and Draft:. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:43, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
