YouTube copyright enforcement

All Sabaton fans on YouTube are probably aware of this by now: in the past 2 months, many fan-made videos for their songs have been removed from YouTube on copyright grounds. What's interesting is that at this time, the enforcement efforts appear to disproportionately target videos for the song "Hearts of Iron" (and, to a lesser extent, "White Death") while leaving most other videos alone. Which begs the question: How do recording companies choose which videos to remove and which ones to leave alone? What criteria do they use to make this decision? (Also, a related question: I wonder why the copyright claims originate from Orchard Music -- I thought Sabaton were with Nuclear Blast Records? From my YouTube experience, the copyright watchdogs mainly look for modern artists, those active in the 2000s. Sabaton is one of them, being active since 1999. Older recordings (including some films), made in the 90s or earlier usually pass the verification and are uploadable (even if formally they are still copyrightable). We are basically a bunch of unorganized volunteers, see WP:VOLUNTEER, so maybe today and maybe never. It is possible to request an article, see Wikipedia:Requested articles. I'm sorry about the woefully unhelpful advice of the previous poster. If Felgate meets the pre-requisites of Wikipedia's football project's notability guidelines, then we can create it right away. Usually this means that Felgate will have had to have played in a fully professional game, e.g. the Premier League, the Football League, the League Cup etc. Can you provide us more information on Felgate's career to date so we could give you some feedback on the likelihood on an article being viable? @The Rambling Man: Here is his article: Michael_Felgate. It has been nominated for deletion. The page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Felgate is about a sports presenter with the same name. I looked at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Felgate (2nd nomination) and it seems that people doubt if he is notable (see WP:NOTABLE, WP:GNG and (like The Rambling Man said) WP:WikiProject_Football#Notability. Perhaps, but I don't dare claim that something is ironic anymore because of that stupid stupid song. Have you read the talkpage? User JohnCD wrote: "...the Cypriot First Division is now accepted as fully-professional in Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues...". Yes, sorry for all this confusion, which is my fault. I fielded this request at WP:REFUND, read WP:Articles for deletion/Michael Felgate (2nd nomination), saw that the reason for deletion was that the Cypriot First Division was not then (2009) accepted as fully professional, checked WP:FPL and found that it is now accepted. So I restored the article. So far so good, but I but carelessly forgot to remove the db-g4 notice, hence all this. Self-trout. JohnCD (talk) 09:23, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
