Join us for a fun, hands-on New Zealand Species Edit-a-thon at Ōtari-Wilton's Bush, proudly supported by Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand and Wellington City Council. Whether you're new to Wikipedia or a seasoned editor, this event, held over two Saturdays, is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills while contributing to the world's most comprehensive encyclopedia.
Guided by experienced Wikipedians, you'll have the chance to improve articles focused on New Zealand's unique native flora and fauna. Bring your own laptop, and we'll provide all the training and resources you need to get started on day 1 and extend your skills and contributions on day 2.
Unlock the wonders of New Zealand's biodiversity and collaborate with fellow nature enthusiasts. Together, we'll explore, learn, and share the beauty of our native plants and animals with the world. Come along for a rewarding experience that blends education, fun, discovery, and community spirit!

- Note: This event runs over two Saturdays:
- Dates: Saturday 19 October 2024 and Saturday 2 November 2024
- Time: 10:00–16:00 NZST on both days
- Location: Ōtari-Wilton's Bush, Wellington, New Zealand. We will be located in the Leonard Cockayne Centre.
- Getting to Ōtari: Take the No 14 bus from the city centre to Gloucester Street, which is just outside Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush. You can also come by car and park in the main public car park on Wilton Road or along Churchill Drive. See this map
