New Pages Patrol newsletter January 2023

Hello ZooBlazer,

New Page Review queue December 2022
Backlog

The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day.

2022 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. For the full details see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone!

Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)

New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js to User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js

Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD.

Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see.

Page mover granted

Hello, ZooBlazer. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

Useful links:

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 07:59, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria.   This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Mike Christie -- Mike Christie (talk) 14:23, 25 March 2023 (UTC)

I think I've caught up with you! Just a couple of points left. The only thing that I think looks tricky is the reception section. I will also be doing spotchecks, probably later today. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 20:55, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
@Mike Christie Yeah, reception is the only thing that couldn't be updated relatively quickly, so I figured I'd focus on that by itself once I got the smaller things all cleaned up. -- ZooBlazertalk 21:01, 26 March 2023 (UTC)

@Mike Christie Thanks for being a great reviewer! It was a lot of work, but I think it was the best case scenario that an experienced reviewer took the job. -- ZooBlazertalk 02:59, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

The article Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe) you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe) for comments about the article, and Talk:Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe)/GA2 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility.   Thank you for making a report about CastJared (talk · contribs · block log) at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. DYK for Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

On 21 April 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Digital Domain created a new facial-capture system to help create the look of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

third reference is needed for Portland NBA G League

Hi,

By experience, the third reference is needed since it's a local reference. I had my run-ins with the editors only to satisfy them once I found a local reference. Here's an example, Draft:Los Angeles FC 2. I've emailed to LAFC to see if they can get the LA Times, Orange County Register, or local TV station just to mention them on the net but alas to no avail. The league, team and national publications references are good but they still want that local reference... Roberto221 (talk) 00:16, 27 April 2023 (UTC)

No worries then. I think seeing it as MSN is what made me not realize that it was originally from a local source, so I updated to the original source of the article. -- ZooBlazertalk 00:35, 27 April 2023 (UTC)

WikiCup 2023 May newsletter

The second round of the 2023 WikiCup has now finished. Contestants needed to have scored 60 points to advance into round 3. Our top five scorers in round 2 all included a featured article among their submissions and each scored over 500 points. They were:

Other notable performances were put in by   Sammi Brie,   Thebiguglyalien,   MyCatIsAChonk,   PCN02WPS, and   AirshipJungleman29.

So far contestants have achieved thirteen featured articles between them, one being a joint effort, and forty-nine good articles. The judges are pleased with the thorough reviews that are being performed, and have hardly had to reject any. As we enter the third round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed in round 3. Remember too that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Sturmvogel 66 and Cwmhiraeth. Draft:Episode 2 (Secret Invasion)

Hi @ZooBlazer In that draft you copied content without attribution so I'll drop this here.
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Nobody (talk) 08:10, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter June 2023

Hello ZooBlazer,

New Page Review queue April to June 2023

Backlog

Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.

Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.

Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.

You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.

Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).

WikiCup 2023 July newsletter

The third round of the 2023 WikiCup has come to an end. The 16 users who made it to the fourth round had at least 175 points. Our top scorers in round 3 were:

Contestants achieved 11 featured articles, 2 featured lists, 47 good articles, 72 featured or good article reviews, over 100 DYKs and 40 ITN appearances. As always, any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process.

DYK for The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes

On 12 July 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Archive links

Hi! I saw that you added a large number of archive links to List of box office records set by Avengers: Endgame. This is not always helpful, and for an article like this where a significant proportion of the sources are dynamic lists, it often isn't. For example, this 2011 archived version of http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/world/worldwideopenings.htm obviously isn't useful for verifying that Avengers: Endgame set a worldwide opening weekend record by grossing $1.223 billion in 2019 (nor, for that matter, that in doing so it surpassed the previous record of $640 million set by Avengers: Infinity War in 2018). TompaDompa (talk) 04:09, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

@TompaDompa My bad. I undid the changes for both movies.
I see that you're pretty much the main editor for both lists. Do you plan to get them to Featured Lists? I'm in the long process of getting Avengers (Marvel Cinematic Universe) to a Good Topic and both of those lists will probably need to be part of the overall topic. -- ZooBlazertalk 04:16, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
No, I don't. I abandoned that idea when I nominated List of box office records set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2018 and it received a rather chilly response (see Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of box office records set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens/archive1). Frankly, I think they may have been right that we shouldn't have lists like this (but rather cover the most important points in prose over at the article for the corresponding film). TompaDompa (talk) 04:28, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
Oh... if that's the case with the Avengers movies, then I hope the lists won't be required for the good topic -- ZooBlazertalk 04:32, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

AWB requests

Just an FYI, but even if you don't want to check out the noticeboard to investigate - given the possibly of having to delve into archives to do so, I don't necessarily blame you - AutoWiki Browser edits that point to WP:AWBREQ are almost always technical in nature, in much the same way that fully automated bots engage predominantly in technical maintenance. VanIsaac, GHTV contWpWS 19:01, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

@Vanisaac No worries. I mostly just thought it was somehow affecting new additions being added to the recognized content, but then I realized the bot was just a little late. -- ZooBlazertalk 19:10, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi ZooBlazer. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. The second one is just a redirect, but if you feel it should be removed, you would have to start an RfD -- ZooBlazertalk 18:07, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
Okay! BigLordFlash (talk) 18:10, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Per WP:NDRAFT, drafts are not checked for notability or reliability, and any speedy deletion requests are unlikely to succeed as a result, especially when G'13 has been found to be a viable option as to let the process handle itself and to not waste editors' time. This was realized in prior MCU draft deletion attempts. An RfD could always be had for the latter, although WP:Redirects are cheap and not harmful, aiding in navigation in case they are still used and to aid in preserving editorial history. DYK for Infinity Stones

On 20 August 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Infinity Stones, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. WikiCup 2023 September newsletter

The fourth round of the competition has finished, with anyone scoring less than 673 points being eliminated. It was a high scoring round with all but one of the contestants who progressed to the final having achieved an FA during the round. The highest scorers were

  •   Epicgenius, with 2173 points topping the scores, gained mainly from a featured article, 38 good articles and 9 DYKs. He was followed by
  •   Sammi Brie, with 1575 points, gained mainly from a featured article, 28 good articles and 50 good article reviews. Close behind was
  •   Thebiguglyalien, with 1535 points mainly gained from a featured article, 15 good articles, 26 good article reviews and lots of bonus points.

Between them during round 4, contestants achieved 12 featured articles, 3 featured lists, 3 featured pictures, 126 good articles, 46 DYK entries, 14 ITN entries, 67 featured article candidate reviews and 147 good article reviews. Congratulations to our eight finalists and all who participated! It was a generally high-scoring and productive round and I think we can expect a highly competitive finish to the competition.

Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 10 days of "earning" them and within 24 hours of the end of the final. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. It would be helpful if this list could be cleared of any items no longer relevant. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.

I will be standing down as a judge after the end of the contest. I think the Cup encourages productive editors to improve their contributions to Wikipedia and I hope that someone else will step up to take over the running of the Cup. New pages patrol newsletter

Hello ZooBlazer,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

Disambiguation link notification for October 13

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Portland Trail Blazers draft history, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page University of the Pacific. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

FLC noms

Hi, ZooBlazer. Had some time to check out the pages you nominated and it appears that the 2012 draft article got a second support since your comment. I'd consider that substantial support, so I'm okay with leaving that nom and the newer one you wanted at FLC. I'll archive the others tomorrow. Giants2008 (Talk) 00:09, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

Contraxia (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

Hey, I saw you created Contraxia (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and then moved it to Contraxia. As you are the sole author of both redirects, you can tag the former for G7 deletion (unless you think it should be kept for some reason). InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:00, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

@InfiniteNexus I didn't think there was anything wrong with having them both which is why I left the redirect when moving the article, but I can request G7 if necessary. -- ZooBlazertalk 18:03, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
Well, there's no harm per se, but it isn't necessary as an unneeded disambiguation. I'll let you decide whether to keep or delete it. InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:05, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
Decided to just request G7 deletion. -- ZooBlazertalk 18:12, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I am Winter. I have revently noticed that you have reverted my edit on Marvel Studios Animation. I do not understand why you reverted it and I would like for you to tell me why. WiinterU (talk) 02:48, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

@WiinterU To start, you have to not change the spacing of the parameters. They're purposely how they are to keep them lined up with each other for a cleaner appearance. -- ZooBlazertalk 03:37, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
I'm a visual editor so I don't know what you mean. WiinterU (talk) 03:39, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
@WiinterU All the = should be lined up in the infobox -- ZooBlazertalk 03:47, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Thank you for telling me. WiinterU (talk) 03:50, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
I am sorry for the inconvenience. Have a nice rest of your weekend. -Winter WiinterU (talk) 04:02, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
@WiinterU No worries. I fixed the issue on the article. -- ZooBlazertalk 04:14, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
I usually edit using visual edits. However, I have slowly realized that it can make things harder for source editors. Somehow the "="'s move when a visual editor changes even one slight thing. This in turn makes it harder for source editors. This should hopefully stop soon. I have just realized that my 1,191 edits have probably changed the infoboxes negatively without my knowledge. I'm going to be more careful in the future. WiinterU (talk) 04:23, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
@WiinterU Not all pages have their parameters aligned, but most of the main MCU articles do, so you're probably fine. It's not too hard to fix. -- ZooBlazertalk 04:37, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
Hey, I might need your help. There is this guy who went back and reverted the Division" > "Division" and keeps saying that it's a "WP Overlink". My first question, what is an Overlink and my second question, is he right in doing that? WiinterU (talk) 00:02, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
I'm that guy. I already linked WP:OVERLINK in my edit summary when I reverted you, did you click to read what it says? Words that are commonly understand by most of readers should not be wikilinked. InfiniteNexus (talk) 00:10, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
@WiinterU I'd recommend looking over the OVERLINK info and if you still disagree with the revert, bring it to the talk page of Marvel Studios Animation and see if it can be sorted out. -- ZooBlazer 05:17, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

MCU eps in your sandbox

Hey, just FYI, I found in one of mine I still had the layout template from What If season 1 along with some writing info for the Tony/Gamora Sakaaran episode if you want to copy all of that over to yours. Or you can edit in mine if you'd like. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:27, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

@Favre1fan93 Yeah, yours looks much better. I was eventually gonna add more development info, but we can just use your sandbox as a template for the season. It's a little harder to fully prep compared to other series since the cast is different every week.
I'll probably just convert mine to Echo eventually. ZooBlazer 03:45, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
At some point in the next month I'll get the production section more up to date in my sandbox for What If. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:48, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Autoarchive settings

ZooBlazer, just wanted to drop a quick note here to avoid back/forth editing over something so minor. I adjusted the archive settings at Talk:Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for a reason. Threads are getting archived prematurely, such as this one, which covers a topic that is still being actively discussed/debated. We should be able to adjust to less aggressive settings as needed, especially once activity dies down. They don't have to match across similar articles, because each article may have varying levels of activity. Hope that explanation helps. --GoneIn60 (talk) 23:11, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

@GoneIn60 Yes, it should be adjusted because at the moment there are just a bunch of old dead discussions. That discussion you linked is next in line to be archived anyway because it has the oldest last comment. If you don't want it archived, just leave a message on it instead of making a similar discussion like you did about the related topic. ZooBlazer 23:27, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I've restored the previous settings. As noted as well, those discussions have long been dormant and were not still being actively discussed/debated. As Zoo said, if it's of importance, start a new comment in them, or a new discussion entirely. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:35, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
Favre1fan93, WP:ARCHIVE linked below suggests keeping related discussions intact on the same page, especially when there is ongoing debate/disruption in the article related to these discussions. The guideline and help page do not suggest keeping a stale discussion active (by adding a comment) to prevent archiving. The easier thing to do (and supported by WP guidance) is to adjust the autoarchive setting so the discussion remains. Not sure why this is running into so much opposition. Autoarchiving is an optional feature that is not mandated in any way. --GoneIn60 (talk) 23:50, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Per WP:TALKCOND, the general rule of thumb of when a talk page is considered "large" is when its size is considered greater than 75KB. Currently, the page size (including the talk header) is only 16KB. Some editors like to keep things extremely tidy (like only 4 discussions), but it's not at all necessary; it's strictly an editor preference. Also per WP:ARCHIVE, "ongoing discussions and nearby sections they reference should generally be kept intact. Because the active discussion on the page references the older discussion, both should remain on the page for the time being.
It's not a world-ending issue worth fussing over, but if the reason for reverting me is "we should do this, because all MCU articles do this", well that's not really a valid justification. I'm not going to get into a silly back and forth about this, but there's a reason why pages aren't set to autoarchive in the first place. They should be handled on a case-by-case basis that assesses page size and page activity. I feel like you are arbitrarily throwing that out the window because it doesn't jive with other MCU articles. --GoneIn60 (talk) 23:43, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
Unarchiving topics that were archived months ago isn't the way to do things. You can still refer to topics just as easily if they're archived as well. ZooBlazer 23:59, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
There's also no harm in increasing a page size from 13KB to 16KB, which is essentially what's at stake here.
I used to ignore comments from other editors when they complained about an MCU posse of editors WP:OWNing MCU articles; I didn't think that was really a thing – just some disgruntled editors bi*ching and moaning about nothing. But I guess when something as miniscule as this becomes a point of contention, it makes you take pause. Don't worry, I've moved on. --GoneIn60 (talk) 00:42, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
It's definitely not WP:OWNING. Just a simple conversation. ZooBlazer 00:55, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) (edit conflict) It is true that there is a large group of editors who edit MCU articles, and it is also true that these editors tend to have a similar mindset. But just because a group of editors happen to all disagree with another editor who happens to not be part of said group does not mean there are OWN problems, or that MCU editors are part of a "clique" or "cabal" or "posse". Take a look at any high-traffic article's talk page, and you will see that there are also like-minded communities elsewhere as well. I should note that many changes enacted on MCU articles were initially proposed by nonregulars, and many nonregulars contribute to MCU articles without being reverted. InfiniteNexus (talk) 00:55, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
To be clear, this is not an accusation of WP:OWNing. I have always taken an objective stance toward those that edit passionately in the MCU realm. I'm actually glad that WP has a dedicated community of editors that work together and accomplish great things on these articles, which would easily become a cluttered mess without that kind of dedication. However, I also think that level of standardization getting enforced across all articles can, at times, cause a knee-jerk reaction to defend against even the tiniest anomaly. In this case, we're talking about a hidden setting on a talk page.
Rubbed me the wrong way for sure, but that doesn't change my overall opinion that the community generally does good things. Felt I need to clarify that. --GoneIn60 (talk) 01:11, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

Loki and TV series tables

Hello! About this, thanks. P.S. What do the colors mean, anyway? Mudwater (Talk) 23:42, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

@Mudwater The colors are the same ones used on each article's episode section. The color comes from the logo for shows with one season and usually the posters for multi season shows. ZooBlazer 23:47, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) @Mudwater: the colors have been a part of the WP:TV project for much of its existence. Between season articles, the infobox and episode tables utilize various colors (generally one related to a series logo or season poster/home media packaging) to help differentiate them. And then as such, in a series overview table, it provides further differentiation. Take for example List of House episodes. In the series overview table and then just scrolling through the page, one can see the color quickly identifies a new season's table of episodes. Hope that helped. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:55, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

@Favre1fan93 and ZooBlazer: Yes, that's helpful info. Thank you. Mudwater (Talk) 21:24, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

Avenger FAC

I noticed your GOCE request regarding the nomination of Avenger for FAC. I would like to inform you that it requires a Thematic Analysis section before it can successfully pass FAC, as is customary in every film FA, such as The Empire Strikes Back and The Shawshank Redemption. CS1 error

@ZooBlazer: The episode's release date on your draft article "What If... the Avengers Assembled in 1602?" is a future date which causes an error message. Achmad Rachmani (talk) 22:23, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) That Rotten Tomatoes info, or just the citation, could easily be hidden to prevent such an error message from being triggered if it is desired to retain the future dates (which are only later this month, so they'll be here in no time). Speedy deletion nomination of Glorious Purpose (Loki Season 2)

A tag has been placed on Glorious Purpose (Loki Season 2) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Trailblazer101 (talk) 05:52, 25 December 2023 (UTC)

The request will most likely be denied. Difference in capitalization usually isn't considered a typo. InfiniteNexus (talk) 07:16, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
That's true, but shouldn't this message have gone to the editor who changed the name of the article? I made the redirect, but it was the correct capitalization initially. -- ZooBlazer 07:20, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
I think this was automatically sent to you by Twinkle because you were the redirect's creator. InfiniteNexus (talk) 07:25, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
I admittedly didn't think it would pass, but yes, it was an automessage given the redirect was moved to this title by another editor. Trailblazer101 (talk) 17:09, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
