I'm not a sock puppet. I'm just a guy in Missouri...I'm actually not sure how to prove this, so any advice is welcome. Zenironman (talk) 15:17, 7 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

All of my edits have to do with my field...I'm in experiential marketing, and work at Pro Motion, Inc...I also edited a page about Sonny Barger once because I was watching Sons of Anarchy and remembered him from the Hunter S. Thompson book Hell's Angels. Then I was looking for him on IMDb, and Added a citation. None of my edits have been destructive or false. I apologize if I've offended anyone. I didn't know that I was doing something wrong. There are a lot of ins and outs to Wikipedia, and apparently some sort of manners that I've abused in some way, but I'm still not sure how. I'm totally a real person and am willing to provide any number of proofs. Zenironman (talk) 16:45, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

This still says nothing about the drawer full of socks here. Also, you did not disclose your affiliation before making paid edits, as required by our terms of use. Max Semenik (talk) 17:04, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry if I'm making this more difficult than it needs to be. I didn't make paid edits. I did pay someone to make edits so that the company could have a Wikipedia entry, based on real sources and information that I provided. I don't know how to decipher the Binkydarling sockpuppet page. The drawer full of socks that you refer to has my username listed with a bunch of other usernames, but I can't see what my name has to do with theirs? Please tell me what I can do to become unblocked. I have an actual online presence with my real name and my username, showing that I'm a real person. I never meant to violate any terms of use, and I'm not trying to be difficult.Zenironman (talk) 17:25, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

No one is disputing that you are a real person. Please read WP:SOCK; in short, you are blocked because you used multiple Wikipedia user accounts for an improper purpose. WP:MEATPUPPETRY is a similar blockable offense involving multiple persons acting in a coordinated/cooperative fashion. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:56, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I haven't used multiple accounts. I'm getting frustrated because I'd like to know what I can do to remedy this situation, but there doesn't seem to be an answer. Am I just permanently banned from Wikipedia without trial? I'm being polite and as helpful as possible, but the admins haven't addressed that I'm looking for a resolution. It would appear that my innocence or guilt bears no relation to the block, and that is where the conversation seems to stall out...that being said, what steps do I take to get my account unblocked? In future, what do I do to keep from being blocked?

As Jeremy correctly says below, this is a checkuser block. Our general policy is that we block accounts that share the same basic technical details similar to what you can see at whatsmyuseragent.com because it is impossible for us to tell whether it is one person acting deceptively, or two different people in the same office. (For this reason, my userpage has a link to my spouse's Wikipedia account to show we are separate people even though we sometimes share IP addresses when we are on two computers at home sitting next to each other.) The relevant legalise hinted at earlier is "for the purpose of dispute resolution when there is uncertainty whether a party is one user with sockpuppets or several users with similar editing habits they may be treated as one user with sockpuppets." If this sounds unfair, well maybe it is, but it's consistently unfair to everyone.

I would recommend (and I'm surprised none of the earlier administrators mentioned this as none of them could have accepted your unblock request since it is a checkuser block!) is to email the Arbitration Committee at arbcom-l@lists.wikimedia.org. You need to explain your situation as politely as possible, and explain your relationship with Pro Motion.

I think you will be asked to stop making any edits to do with Pro Motion as a condition of being unblocked, and I'd advise you that the success of this organisation probably has very little to do with the presence or absence of a Wikipedia page, so why would you have the hassle? You are likely to have more success if you talk about other topics you would like to edit, away from Pro Motion. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:30, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I will note that this block is based upon Checkuser evidence - in other words, you were blocked because technical evidence says you're Binkydarling. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 21:11, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
| Sarahj2107 - Me and my company totally got scammed by someone claiming to be you. They are also using the email sarahj_2107@outlook.com. All seemed very convincing. When I visited your page last time, it didn't have the disclaimer at the top, I don't think. Thank you for adding it. ...I don't even know if you'll get this notification, but I can't "talk" on your page.
