ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Yupik. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Translation request

Hello, Mr Yupik. I have some translation work from Finnish into English that I'd like done, and I came across your name whilst looking around for help. I have a Finnish friend who I asked for help in this regard, but he did not feel confident enough to take the task. Essentially, I'd like the Finnish Wikipedia article about the Bolshevik Tampere conference of 1905 translated into English. The Finnish article is very comprehensive, and this topic is quite deserving of an English Wikipedia article. I intend to add some information from English sources, but they do not approach the depth found in the Finnish ones cited in Finnish Wikipedia article. Can you oblige me? I'd be most grateful for your assistance. RGloucester 17:32, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

I'd be happy to help, but it would probably be late spring before I got it done since I'm swamped right now. This is a great article to translate so my suggestion would be to ask on the Finnish Wikipedia's Village Pump for assistance since you would be able to reach a large audience in one fell swoop. -Yupik (talk) 18:25, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll do that. RGloucester 08:37, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
@RGloucester: Hello! It looks like you've been translating this yourself quite well. Is there any particular part you need help with still? -Yupik (talk) 18:30, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply! I tried my best, given the circumstances. However, I was not able to parse the "Konferenssiin liittyvät myytit" section, if you'd like to do that. I'd also appreciate work on Vihtori Kosonen. RGloucester 18:40, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
@RGloucester:. I translated the myth section of the article, but it could really use another pair of eyes since I've been translating between a different language pair for the last half a year or so :) I'll put Vihtori Kosonen on my list of things to do, but I'm unlikely to get around to it anytime soon unfortunately (although you never know!) -Yupik (talk) 14:31, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, Mr Yupik. Your work is greatly appreciated. I hope you'll have a happy new year. RGloucester 16:16, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
