March 2020 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Richard Benson (musician) has been reverted.
Your edit here to Richard Benson (musician) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (https://www.discogs.com/artist/286501-Richard-Benson-2) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Nomination of Jamie Oram for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Jamie Oram is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jamie Oram until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Cabayi (talk) 20:38, 19 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I strongly believe this page should not be deleted. This Actor has been in a lot of famous and wiki included TV and Film roles, therefore Jamie Oram should be kept. There are numerous Actors and Actresses that have wikipedia pages that haven't done the amount of things Jamie Oram has done. I strongly believe all references are relevant to back up the information. None of this information is irrelevant because it informs wiki users about Jamie and his Acting career and array of roles. If you have any problems specifically with bits of content or specific references then please discuss it with me and I will edit the page to improve it. WikiGuyde10 (talk) 23:08, 19 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I can understand why this page was nominated. However the problems have been fixed and therefore I think it's suitable for Wikipedia now. It used promotive language, and pointless information that took away the image of this actors work. Ultimately, this page should be kept. The actor IS notable, I remember growing up listening to his voice and watching his TV shows, and this page has recently, by the articles creator, been changed. Theyve gotten rid of their promotional language, etc. I personally got rid of the title - Musician - because there is a lack of evidence and references (apart from the Woolly and Tig album he created) that supports the fact that he is a musician, however there is an abundance of references, articles, etc. That prove that Jamie Oram is a real, and notable Actor figure, and I believe he should be kept on Wikipedia because of this, and that the article should not be deleted. March 2020 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 12:31, 20 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I know you're looking out for Wikipedia but please don't block me. I've been trying and trying to help wikipedia and never done anything wrong. I published my article and it all went so well, until an administrator put the page up for discussion of deletion. I went on another account I had to make a contribution to it. I did not intend for it to sound or act like someone else / a different user. I merely wanted to write more but Wiki doesnt allow more than one discussion upon page deletion so I went on the other account. This was not meant to seem malicious or abusive and I deeply appologize. I will never do such a thing again, and I'm sorry for causing all this confusion. Please , out of the kindness of your heart, would you pleadr remove the block, or at the very least don't make it last indefinately, because other than this accidental hiccup, I have been very helpful on Wikipedia, and want to continue to be. Request reason:

I was not intending to use different accounts, I'm only human and a made a mistakrme. I've been trying and trying to help wikipedia for a few days in order to publish a simple article. I built up points, I helped pages out, I got decent assessments of edits and the changes that I made were never malicious nor abusive as you can find out on my user log/history. All I've ever done is try to help - not like the idiots that deliberately cause grief on Wikipedia. I published my article and it got reviewed and an administrator put the page up for discussion of deletion. I've edited the page now and the page should t be deleted because it is neither promoting or unnotable anymore. However at the time I went on another account, because I wanted to make a contribution to the discussion of deletion page. I did not intend for it to sound or act like someone else / a different user, and was certainly not intending to be abusive at all - that is not me or my style. I merely wanted to write more about the article and why it shouldnt be deleted now, but Wikipedia doesnt allow more than one suggestion/discussion upon page deletion so I went on the other account. Again, this was not meant to seem malicious or abusive and I deeply appologize. I wasnt fully aware that you were not allowed to do this, but now I see how people could use this in a negative way, and that is not what I was trying to do. I will never do such a thing again, and I'm sorry for causing all this confusion. It would mean the world to me if I was to be unblock, or even at the very least have a temporary ban, but not an indefinate block, because other than this accidental hiccup, I have tryed to be extremely helpful on Wikipedia, and want to continue to be. So please, please consider an unblock, and try to get back to me. WikiGuyde10 (talk) 13:19, 20 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your attempts to explain this situation just make it seem even more suspicious. You didn't experiment with "different types of codes"; the only code that you experimented with was a COI declaration for the very article that you created. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 10:31, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Could you explain this edit? PhilKnight (talk) 14:16, 21 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

What edit sorry? WikiGuyde10 (talk) 17:48, 21 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I don't know what that is, because im faily new to wikipedia. I think I was just testing and understanding what it was to he honest. WikiGuyde10 (talk) 12:51, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Do you have a conflict of interest regarding Jamie Oram? If so, why did you remove the declaration of that COI from your userpage? MER-C 18:15, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ah thank you, I understand now. No I did not have a conflict of interest, regarding Jamie Oram. I was messing around with different types of codes to work out what they meant from following instructions on Wikipedia to get an understanding of Wiki, however I came back to it recently to discover that I had accidentally left it there, so I went back and deleted it so that it wouldnt confuse people. I would really love to be unblocked because I was just getting used to Wikipedia. I know what Ive done wrong and I promise I will not do anything like that again. Ive learnt my lesson, and I would like to continue being a useful part of Wikipedia - because I really enjoyed it. I will not do anything like this again, not ever. I made a stupid mistake but Ive learnt from it. WikiGuyde10 (talk) 10:04, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

So, to recap:

  • you mistakenly added a declaration of your conflict of interest accidentally choosing that one template out of the many thousands available;
  • you mistakenly created another account, JamesHay353; and
  • you mistakenly used that account to comment on your talk page as if they were an uninvolved editor rather than you. (WP:ILLEGIT)

The standard offer may be available to you in 6 months, unless you reset the clock in the meantime. Cabayi (talk) 16:49, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

No that is not what I said at all, I didnt mistakenly create another account. If you read my messages and appeal I said that I created it to comment on the talk page, because I could only comment once under the name of WikiGuyde10, and I wanted to add additional information - Im sorry for any confusion that it caused, I didnt want it to sound like another user because I know full well that youd be able to see my IP address, so I wasnt intending to sound or act as another account at all and Im really sorry for doing that. I will not do it again im really sorry, I cant do much more other than to ask for your forgiveness and give me another chance because apart from that hiccup - Ive been helpful to Wikipedia. Im new to Wikipedia, but I didnt mistakenly add a declaration of Jamie Orams conflict of interest. I did it because I was learning different source codes and what they do (learning the templates), but I forgot to delete it after I published it. I published it to see what it looked like but then I got a notification and then forgot about it, and deleted it from Wiki now, because I realized what I had done. Please, I hope you understand this, these werent accidental things but I didnt intend for them to come across the way they did and malicious etc. Im really sorry, It wont happen again, but I just really would like this account back, and I wont make any more stupid mistakes WikiGuyde10 (talk) 20:12, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

To be blatently honest, I dont know what all the fuss is about, I didnt know how to use wikipedia and am not the best at explaining things. I dont know what a COI thingy is, or a declaration for articles ect. But I do know how to reference and use some of the templates, and how to edit decently and create pages. I am so sorry but I understand why I got blocked for malicious and abusive content, but that is not what I was trying to do, and even if it was - which it isnt - I deeply appologize and really want to get unblocked. Im not a harmgul user, unlike some other twats on here that have no respect. Ive made my mistakes, paid the price, but ive accepted them and is willing to appologize and move on, and all I ask for is your forgivebess and unblocking, please, so that I can go back to being a normal wiki user.
