You are a missing Wikipedian edit

Please come back and remove your name from Wikipedia:Missing Wikipedians. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:12, 27 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • I second this plea; strenuously! It happens that you and Anna are two of my dearest Wikipedia friends! I'll rest on that fact, for brevity; but I am otherwise aggrieved. You have done far too much good, here, to not be in the good place you labored to build. Sincerely,--John Cline (talk) 21:31, 27 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Well thank you John. I'm very fond of you too. It was you who started the push for me becoming and admin, so I'm still a little annoyed... hahah just kidding. Seriously, where is he? There's a chance he's not, you know, alive, and that is really a sad thought. But, it has only been three months, so maybe he's just battling or recovering and he'll be back. I do hope so. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:19, 27 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Missed, but not forgotten. My best wishes, wherever he may be. --Tryptofish (talk) 00:05, 28 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
This is extremely painful to see. I wish I knew what else to say. I'm pretty sure there is so such thing as Wikipedia without Viriditas. petrarchan47คุ 18:37, 5 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I agree. We may have crossed swords many, many times, but my thoughts are with you. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:43, 5 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Missing and very much missed. Here's to an energetic and productive spirit I didn't know well enough, hoping your ideas and energy keep radiating out into the world. FourViolas (talk) 01:20, 6 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hey Viriditas, please let us know if you're okay WhisperToMe (talk) 14:00, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Has anybody emailed him? Softlavender (talk) 22:17, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
I'm saddened Viriditas hasn't been around. He was a good person. Someone I liked. I hope he is well. Bus stop (talk) 22:54, 4 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Flowers for you! edit

I don't know where you are, but I hope you come back soon! Your input here is important, and missed. I trust you are well, but if not, I pray that you will be very shortly. Softlavender (talk) 05:09, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Are you back? edit

I heard you suddenly disappeared. Hope all is well. Selene Scott (talk) 09:33, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Viriditas stopped editing very abruptly a year ago. Out of respect I've archived some of the routine and bot messages. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:37, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Farewell friend edit

It seems you have perhaps gone dear Viriditas, as we all shall, sooner than we think. You are one of the few who exhibited the courage to try and constrain the self-aggrandising depravations of the Wikipedia administrative caste. It's now the Trumpian age, which seems to endorse behaviour like this caste. It's not that you failed attempting such an impossible task during your time here – it just that that on balance our species doesn't seem to amount to anything more than that. You showed with your decency that there are outliers. And now we await the expirity of our species, which like Prometheus has overreached itself. --Epipelagic (talk) 04:41, 8 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

I've been wondering about the same thing, and I echo what Epipelagic has said. I know that you and I got off to a rocky start, but over time that reversed entirely, and you are much missed. --Tryptofish (talk) 19:09, 8 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

I add to this, that there are a few of us who first encountered you at WikiProject Hawaii, and who owe you much for your mentorship in guiding new editors. One thing I always knew for sure, is that you were the one editor I could count on to step up to bat for me. I thank you for all of it. — Maile (talk) 21:24, 29 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

There are very few editors that have helped me grow as another Wikipedia contributor and helped me unlock the mysteries of my own family history and that of Hawaii in such sensitive and kind ways, only showing great aloha and generosity of your time. If you are now far from us, then perhaps you are with your kupuna. Perhaps, where ever you are, you see the continued effect of your time on Wikipedia through others who continue to contribute, not in spite of you, but very much because of you. Aloha and mahalo nui loa.--Mark Miller (talk) 21:47, 29 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sorry to hear Viriditas is gone, if indeed he is. He worked on my very first GA review and showed great attention to detail and general savvy in whipping it into shape. He (assuming the gender, hopefully accurately) did not suffer fools gladly and unfortunately they are in abundance hereabouts, so I can't really blame him for taking a powder. Coretheapple (talk) 22:32, 29 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

His efforts actually helped unite my father and his youngest sister just months before his death. They had not seen each other since she was 11.--Mark Miller (talk) 03:05, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm going to suggest again that if people are genuinely concerned about Viriditas or want him to return, that they email him. It seems fairly clear that he is not reading notices on his talk page. Softlavender (talk) 11:02, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Viridas is not replying to emails. He may no longer be here... --Epipelagic (talk) 05:07, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
I had been in communication with Viriditas through his email which has not had a reply in a very long time.--Mark Miller (talk) 20:36, 9 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I've been concerned as well. He supported me through thick and thin, and I've missed seeing him around. I've missed his arguments in new talk page discussions. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 23:04, 9 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I hope he is OK and again am sorry to see him go. Coretheapple (talk) 00:30, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
And count me in as well. He was a great editor. I still hope he will return somehow. Jusdafax (talk) 04:00, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Some strange database glitch gave me an edit conflict on a pending changes undo and an edit you made in in 2007. Meters (talk) 00:50, 14 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
