Don't shoot, I'm only the piano player edit

Re your edit here, let me suggest something: use the "preview" button before you save. It'll let you see if the changes have the effect you want. (I used to just save first, too...& I don't always preview to spellcheck yet, which I always end up regretting....) TREKphiler hit me ♠ 13:38, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

On the same subject, have you got a source for the dates you changed? Otherwise, it's liable to get reverted as possible vandalism. TREKphiler hit me ♠ 19:18, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hola edit

Hi man, I'm asumming you speak Spanish, if you don't, then talk to me back as well.

Supaman89 (talk) 20:47, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Look, I'm not against you contributing to the article, in fact that's good, but contributing doesn't just mean add pictures like crazy, it means redacting and improving the sections. Now regarding the space, everytime you edit the article it says at the top of the page "this article is too heavy for Wikipedia standards, it'd be better to divide it into specific articles" as you can see we cannot just fill the article with pictures from top to bottom, and since you were the one who started adding all the images (some of them good) you're the one who has to propose your changes first, not just do it and then ask me to review your edition.

BTW, I didn't get your last comment. Supaman89 (talk) 20:27, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the delay, look when I'm using the PC it already takes around 10 secs to open the page, and when I'm using the laptop (which is faster) it takes around half the time, so we have to save some space, anyways it's not just about the quantity of the picture but about them, you added so many all of a sudden that I couldn't even explained one by one why I removed them, so i'll start:

Pre-Columbian civilizations
N Image:Teotihuacan mexico.jpg Two pyramids in the same section? common, besides it doesn't have good quality.
Military
NImage:Mexican cadet.jpg That section has barely 4 paragraphs, and already has 3 pictures (air, land and sea) an extra one is unnecesary.
Economy
Y Image:Shoppingcenterleon.jpg Good, it's not a super fancy mall but not a cheap one either.
Y Image:Pemextanker.jpg Good, but if you could find a better picture it'd be better.
Y Image:LCDfactoryMexico.jpg Okay, but I moved it to the Communications section along with the Telmex store.
N Image:Housesverecruz.jpg It's just a bunch of nice houses, I don't see how that portraits the economy (no other country has houses in their economy sections.)
Energy
N Image:MexicoOilRefinery.jpg It has bad quality and again, we already have a Pemex image, the Wind Turbines fits better in that section.
Tourism
N Image:Hotelmexico.jpg That only includes one hotel, the aereal picture of Cancun would fit much better.
Demographics
N Image:Mexicohouses.jpg That same section already has another image of Guadalajara, there's no reason to include 2 of the same city, (besides they're just some houses, it doesn't reflect the city).
Religion
N Image:Virgen de guadalupe2.jpg The section already has an image of a cathedral, we cannot put two catholic images there, a picture of a synagogue would be more neutral.
Culture
Y Image:Teatro Juarez.jpg Okay, but probably a picture of a Mexican film would fit better since it is the Cinema section (maybe some old film with Maria Felix or something like that).
N Image:Chile Rellenos.jpg As you can see all the areas in the Culture section only include one picture (left, right, left, right) the current picture of the Enchiladas is fine and doesn't break the style.
Health Care and Education
Y Image:Mexicanmedicalrobots.jpg Yes, that one's pretty good, it shows that Mexican students have good technology.
N Image:Hospital Juárez de México.png If you had checked the discussion page, you would've seen that there was a discusion about that section, we could've put better hospitals if we wanted to, but the reason why we don't is because we're trying to portrait an average Mexican hospital to be realistics.
N Image:Escuelamexico.jpg It's repetitive, we already have a photo of other school kids some sections up, besides with that one it's 5 pictures (uneven) for a section its size.
Y Image:Aeronauticalresearchbuilding.jpg Okay, I guess we can leave it there to put 2 pictures on each side.
Science and technology
Y Image:Turbinesinyucatan.jpg Good image, but not here, it belongs to the Energy section, BTW didn't you have a Chiapas Windpower picture?
N Image:FusilMondragon.jpg With that picture, the section would have 3 images and would be uneven, besides to put a riffle in the Sci&Tech section doesn't look too good. Supaman89 (talk) 20:52, 30 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fake pictures edit

Man, seriously what's up the fake pictures you put? that just looses credibility for the article, now I have to wander if the other pictures you put before were real or not. 18:25, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Mexico City Leon Guadalajara
File:Mexicocity.gif
I'm pretty sure that's Sao Paulo, either way it's not Mexico City
File:LeonMexicoClouds.jpg
I don't know if that's actually Leon, if is, it's too photoshopped.
File:Guadalajaratowers.jpg
You know that's not Guadalajara, even when Puerta de Hierro is completed, it won't look like that

Category:Military equipment of Mexico edit

Please stop adding all those weapons to the category.

They may be in use, but indexing Wikipedia that way leads to clutter. Adding links to those articles from a central article, say List of military equipment of Mexico would be fine. But if every country which uses say the H&K G3 rifle were listed as a category in the article, it would be around 100 categories long, which is way too much and not even slightly useful.

Thank you. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 22:19, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you will refer to the discussion page of the Mexican Army article you will see I am the only one puting in any effort to engage in a dialogue whereas others simply keep reverting and adding unreliable sources to make very outlandish claims about the Mexican Army's inventory. It is true that the Mexican Army buys and samples many weapons but that does not mean that they are in use or given as standard issue weapons. if you don't know what constitutes a reliable source then refer to Wikipedia's WP:Reliable Sources page. U.N. small arms registry edit

—Preceding unsigned comment added by Slacker ARG (talkcontribs) 18:10, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

re:Mexico Hospital edit

Well, we know there are tones of fancy hospitals in Mexico as well as a lot of not-so-nice ones; a while ago we had a discussion about that section and the obvious thing to do was to show a normal hospital (nothing too crappy or too fancy) cuz if we only put a lot of cool hospitals, rich schools, the superb malls, etc. the article would loose credibility, right? Now, the picture of Hospital Juarez does look fancy (it might not be, but it does look like that), therefore people reading the article will think, "This thing is biased..." that's why we have to select the pictures carefully, I myself don't like the current hospital much, but we haven't found something better that still looks average and is not within the big cities, maybe a normal hospital somewhere in "provincia" would help.

United States and other issues edit

Please provide justification for the removal of the Abu Ghraib picture.

Also, why on earth did you modify several articles to say that Brazil has a population of over a billion? [2][3][4] This is particularly troubling as there is no imaginable justification; it seems very akin to vandalism. Chedorlaomer (talk) 06:33, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

It would help if you used edit summaries more often. Chedorlaomer (talk) 06:43, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

GDP values edit

In reference to you recent edits, you are looking at the GDP (PPP) values rather than the GDP (nominal) values that both lists are based on. There is a big difference and if you are unsure what the difference is, GDP is a good basic primer. You might also want to check out List of countries by GDP (nominal) for a up-to-date list on the size of the economies of all countries measured on market-exchange rates. On the section on Mexico, it would help if you included some references as a lot of it seems to be original research. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I hope to further improve this article in the future. Nirvana888 (talk) 02:11, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
