You revert my edit on his rank of being a lieutenant general instead of a brigadier general. The reason I edited it was that I was reading the Defense of Sihang Warehouse article and it stated him as a lieutenant general and I was not able to find any conclusive information supporting either, yet the defense article was a featured article. Last time I went to Chinatown about a month and a half ago (on a Saturday) he was at the intersection of Grant and Washington. I believe that is the same location at which User:Allentchang took the photo that is on my userpage. I don't go to Chinatown often enough to be able to trace his movements, so I'm not sure if he hangs out at other places, but he's not always there. On some weekdays, he hangs out at Berkeley, at the edge of the UC campus between Sproul Plaza and Telegraph Avenue. Tomananda is unfairly blocked. He exhausted his 3 reverts on this page but he did not violate the 3RR rule. I contacted the admin that blocked him the following is his response. What is more unfair is that Olaf Stephanos who had just as many reverts on that page was not blocked. Could you help unblock Tomananda?
3RR is not an entitlement to 3 reverts. Edit warring is prohibited. Also, the threshhold for information on Wikipedia is not truth, but verifiability; Wikipedia is not the place to reveal "the truth" except through reliable sources. Somehow pro-Chinese editors have a tendency to insert unsourced material about the invention of the crossbow in China or create a pseudocitation from Needhams comment about South-East Asia.(Seems very hard that something possibly wasn't invented in China)
On the other hand nobody seems to care at all what exactly was invented or done in China as long as the article says done first in China. Could you help us perhaps to sort out what the Chinese evidence for the early appearance of crossbows is and much more important how did these systems work 8bornze triggers?, bone triggers? arrow poison? bamboo bows?). I have been thinking about possibilities of helping users in countries where only proxies are possible to contribute to wikipedia: Wikipedia talk:No open proxies
My idea is to create a possibility (like a talk page), perhaps not as part of wikipedia, where you can edit using a proxy (with edit restrictions to make it difficult for vandals, for example need login and it takes some time until you are switched free to edit) and this information can be used to improve wikipedia (information needs verifiable sources, etc.). It would be a good thing if we could link specific information directly to the talk pages of respective articles and vice versa, possibly via a wikiproject against censorship or the like (It would only be a bibliography help, nothing today's projects don't do). The Military history WikiProject Newsletter: Issue XII - February 2007edit
The new consolidated review department—combining the existing project peer review and A-Class review with a listing of project articles undergoing various external featured content candidacies and reviews—is now operational.
Two new templates have been introduced:
{{Infobox Firearm Cartridge}}, a primary infobox for use with firearm cartridges and artillery shells.
An effort is being made to have task forces maintain annotated bibliographies for their topic areas; several task forces have already begun to construct them.
The project reached two important milestones this month: 500 active members and 30,000 articles in the assessment system.
A military version of Wikipe-tan has been created; a new userbox featuring one of the images is available for interested project members.
Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all of the candidates who put themselves forward for this responsibility, and to the retiring coordinators for all of their efforts to improve the project!
{{Infobox National Military}} is being developed to replace the old {{Military}} template; comments on the draft version are welcome.

Hi. I was wondering if you could translate two Chinese sentenses. One you can find at IMPawards, it's the tag line from Hostel (film). The other one is a title for a Icelandic/Hong Kong movie called Maður eins og ég. Actualy I know it's "Man like me, woman like you" in chinese, but could you write the title first in Chinese caracters and then again the pronouncation. I tried myself here but I'm sure it has some mistakes. Yea, with the tag line the same three things, translation, english pronouncation and Chinese caracters. Hope you can help. That is the funnyest thing I have heard in a long time. I love Eli Roth, so personaly I woun't submite the translation :) But about the movie title. Since imdb dose not support japanese caracters I wanted to submite it with english alphabet. It has already been done with a number of titles, like Ying xiong for Hero. Are there any rules how to change the caracters into alphabet? Would Wo jer yang de nan ren, ni jer yang de nü ren be correct? Maybe it's complicated? Alright, that's awsome. But if you look at the movie title and what you wrote, you can see that everything looks exactly the same, exept the "zhe". The upper one is missing one short line on the top left corner. Maybe not a big deal. But the lower one is completely different. The original one was 那 and looks very similar. Hi. There's a dispute currently happening on this page. A user added in rank information about two supposed older ranks, the PLA's Marshall and Grand Marshal equivalents. An admin is convinced that the person adding is a sockpuppet and had him banned and reverted. From seeing the edits, and from seeing a source the admin provided, the edits seem legitimate, but I'm not very familiar with the PLA, myself. A new level of the project award, the WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves, has been introduced to recognize contributions of truly incredible quality or importance in the area of military history; it is awarded by the project coordinators in the name of the project as a whole.
Cla68 has been awarded the WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves in recognition of his many valuable contributions to military history articles, and, in particular, his leading role in the creation of numerous featured articles on the topic of the Pacific Theater of World War II.
RM Gillespie has been awarded the WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves in recognition of his massive efforts to improve Wikipedia's coverage of the Vietnam War, and, in particular, his development of a substantial portion of the project's A-Class articles.
Wilsbadkarma has been awarded the WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves in recognition of his work on lists (included two featured lists) and portals (including one featured portal). Lists especially are an undermanned area of work, and his excellent efforts deserve commendation.

Sorry, but your threats won't work. Readd the Images as suggested "how to fix it", then you could result in being blocked. I didn't arbitrarily do anything, I am enforcing our fair use policy, if you don't like it, don't violate it. I haven't removed text, or content if you will, I removed Images. Images which were not being used properly in accordance with our Fair Use policy. No, I'm not going do all editors dirty work, and if that means that the Images are not replaced with text, so be it. Calling me rude doesn't make me less rude, and you're not making you're position stronger by calling me so, so please stop. Thier so-called "death in seven days" also known as deletion, is not irreversible, don't panic. Those Images can be restored at any time by an admin if they were deleted, or they can be re-uploaded alternatively. It's not an arbitrary decision when policy says that the move is correct. More now than ever, Wikipedia is careful about rationales and Fair Use tagging than ever and the enforcement of the policy. And you're an admin?? It's not that hard to upload and Image, tag it and provide a rationale if it's Fair Use. And you're an admin, you can see the past revisions of Images to see what the Images looked like to begin with. All that this looks like is that you don't want to be bothered with work to do, and I'm sorry to have so much tagged for deletion in a single swoop, but you're lack of wanting to edit isn't my problem. What is you're interpretation of the Fair Use policy, pretty Images for decoration all over the place?? It's damn-well established from with community that gallery-style formatting regarding Fair Use images is prohibited. There needs to be a body of text next to Fair Use images, not just Image after Image saying: "this is a medal for honor" and a Image of 7 of them next to it. How many discographies do you see left on Wikipedia that use the old format with album covers? It would be safe to say that you couldn't find many. Those formats had chart standings, positions, titles, record labels and everything next to them and they were removed per our Fair Use policy. Let me show you: The Rolling Stones discography, one very popular band, no? Before and after. And they had only 1 Image per album and they were used to "describe the album". What makes that any different than the article your defending now? There isn't, and it's safe to say I would allow the discographies more than I would allow this. — Moeε 05:50, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
That isn't my only example of the discographies, just take a look around Wikipedia if you want more fun. Regardless of intended use of copyright infrigment or the such, the Fair Use policy doesn't budge for what could be, but for what they are on Wikipedia. When they are used under Fair Use, they are presumed to meet the policy, all 10 of the standards, not 8 or 9 of them. Actually, there's a whole lot of information on the Song Dynasty military in the Society of the Song Dynasty article. I just thought the Society section of the main Song Dynasty article was getting too large for me to fit it in. Here is my most recent response to yours in the Song Dynasty FAC page:
Well, the reason why it is under the "Society" section is because all of the information about the military is found in the Society of the Song Dynasty article, which is summarized here in the "Society" section for the main Song Dynasty article. I am just following wiki standards of having a main article that is summarized in a section of another article. In summarizing the military info in this article section, it allows the reader to know which main article to look at if they want to know more about a given topic, such as looking in Society of the Song Dynasty for more information on the Song military. For what I am supporting, see Wikipedia:Guide to layout, Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles, Wikipedia:Summary style. Plus, the information on the military represents only one paragraph in this article here (albeit a large one), which hardly warrants an entire section (let alone having all its information already placed in a listed sub-article). The architecture section at least has two large paragraphs.
In essence, if I created an entirely new military section, it would be going against wikipedia guidelines since all of the information about the military is being summarized in a section for a Song Dynasty sub-article, one that already has all the information about the military. If I was to take all the information about the military out of the Society of the Song Dynasty artilce and place it all in a section for the Song Dynasty article instead, that would be grounds for the GA reviewer of the Society of the Song Dynasty article to have it delisted from GA status, since that was one of the requirements for passing it. Nevermind! Wiki member Mattisse and I have fixed the problem by creating new sub-headings and a new over-heading. The military now has its own sub-section under society, not culture, which makes no sense.--Pericles of AthensTalk 18:30, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
