Indic scripts in lead

edit

Per the Manual of Style page on India-related articles, avoid the use of Indic scripts in the lead sections or infoboxes. Instead, use International Phonetic Alphabet pronunciation guides, which are more international. Exceptions are articles on the script itself, articles on a language that uses the script, and articles on texts originally written in a particular script. This does not apply to articles that are not predominantly within the scope of WikiProject India.

Consensus and common practice among WikiProject Pakistan editors is that the lead sentence of an article may contain Urdu or other transliterations in regional script(s) such as Shahmukhi, Perso-Arabic, Naskh etc., where applicable or relevant. IPA may be used additionally to aid pronunciation. Articles under the scope of WikiProject Pakistan are not covered under WP:INDICSCRIPT. Note that this consensus only applies to Pakistan-related articles. The use of Urdu and other non-Indic scripts on articles outside the scope of Pakistan-related articles, such as India-related articles, may be subsumed under WP:INDICSCRIPT.

Centre of Muslims

edit

As-Salam O Alaikum! Brother,

I recently created Wikiproject Centre of Muslims. It is created to improve the articles about places with more than 80% of Muslim Population. After sometime the percentage could be reduced to 50% (places with majority Muslim Population). Similar wikiprojects are working like in the case of [Australia], The only difference is that their scope is countrywide and scope of this Wikiproject is larger, i.e Muslim World.

It was put on Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Centre of Muslims because of solo participant. Someone also asked that "Would Wikipedia:WikiProject Islam be interested in this project as a Geography task force?" and I think that Centre of Muslims project should be merged with Wikipedia:WikiProject Islam's Geography task force. Can you please guide me regarding this?

Thank You in anticipation! --Muhammadahmad79 (talk) 16:28, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Herpetogenesis:Thanks for the review. Based on the feedback, I have rephrased and neutralized the content in introduction and more.
@Herpetogenesis:Furthermore, the organisation has been often covered and referred by the reputed Indian publications (also added in reference) like Business Standard, Outlook (Indian magazine), Business Today (India). That easily makes it worthwhile of getting published on the website. Also, there is very similar organisation in India called Rekhta (website) already published on Wiki. Hence, I request you to re-consider publication request. Do let me know if needs re-writing for specific points. I will be happy to oblige. ---- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umairsy (talkcontribs) 14:32, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:M. K. M. Ameer Hamza

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:M. K. M. Ameer Hamza, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Dear Bbb23, Thanks for reaching. I look upto TheAafi as writer and hence reached him for the review. I regret if it was felt otherwise. Indeed, due to my dedication, felt bad to see article getting rejected. The article M. K. M. Ameer Hamza is absolutely written with neutral tone, and doesn't have advertisement intentions at all. His contribution as a freedom fighter has been recognised on the Govt. of India itself. I will suggest re-consider publishing this article, esp. after the useful edits of by Aafi, which makes it lot more neutral. Umairsy (talk) 01:38, 4 September 2022 (IST)
Dear Umairsy, the draft hasn't been rejected but declined for betterment. Please continue improving it until you feel it satisfied WP:GNG or any other subjective criteria. Best, ─ The Aafī (talk) 05:30, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
