Comparative cultural studies is field of study where selected tenets of the discipline of comparative literature are merged with selected tenets of the field of cultural studies meaning that the study of culture and culture products -- including but not restricted to literature, communication, media, art, etc. -- is performed in a contextual and relational construction and with a plurality of methods and approaches, inter-disciplinarity, and, if and when required, including team work. In comparative cultural studies it is the processes of communicative action(s) in culture and the how of these processes that constitute the main objectives of research and study. However, comparative cultural studies does not exclude textual analysis proper or other established fields of study. In comparative cultural studies, ideally, the framework of and methodologies available in the systemic and empirical study of culture are favoured. (see Tötösy de Zepetnek, Steven. December 2014 edit

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Steven Tötösy de Zepetnek. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. i am not sure whether a reply with regard to two items which were deleted from wikipedia is to be done here or not...: in any case, here are my replies re the two deletions:

1) Steven Tötösy de Zepetnek = i did not write the entry about myself and have no idea who wrote it; however, when it appeared on wikipedia i corrected it as i thought this would be allowed, but apprently it is not and so it goes; further, one of the wikipedia editors wrote that he/she cannot find any sources about my work in order to make certain that my work would indeed be significant: my response is that he/she did not look for long and if he/she consulted sources which are available online only even then there are a number of sources...: here is a recent example of a printed source where my contribution to scholarship is highlighted: Domínguez, César (U of Santiago de Compostela), Haun Saussy (U of Chicago), and Darío Villanueva (U of Santiago de Compostela), eds. Introducing Comparative Literature: New Trends and Applications. London: Routledge, 2015. 14-15, 103.; another example is that since one of my books was released re copyright and published online in 2011 <http://docs.lib.purdue.edu/clcweblibrary/totosycomparativeliterature1998> it has been downloaded 20674 times and this suggests that book attracts interest

2) comparative cultural studies: while there is wikipedia correspondence that this entry has been deleted, it does appear so i am not sure: this entry i input on wkipedia in 2009, but am not sure what i did wrong and the case remains that this field of the humanities is something i myself developed since the late 1990s incl. a large number of articles and the publication of a Purdue University Press journal and print monograph series; if this is not enough or appropriate to list the field on wikipedia, so it goes

with many thanks, steven totosy

reply by totosy de zepetnek on 3 october 2015: i already replied that i DID NOT WRITE or upload the entry on myself entitled "Steven Tötösy de Zepetnek|Steven Tötösy de Zepetnek" = what did is that i edited what was posted; at one point i received statements by wikipedia editors re the reasons stated why my work is not well know enough and what i remember is that part of the statements included something like "could not verify publications" because they are "not available inline": this alone is an inane suggestion for obvious reasons... in any case, if wikipedia and its editors decide that my work does not merit an entry, so be it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.30.202.200 (talk) 13:46, 3 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
