License tagging for Image:Taipei 101.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Taipei 101.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Fair use rationale for Image:Macpacnewlogo.gif edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Macpacnewlogo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:04, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Geekzone edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Geekzone, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=925. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Geekzone screenshot.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Geekzone screenshot.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:23, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Amanda Knox edit

Hi - an article for Amanda Knox was created and discussed for deletion a few years back and it was decided that all information should be merged nito Murder of Meredith Kercher. Thanks. hbdragon88 (talk) 22:06, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I believe with the recent news - she would be needing an individual page, rather than within the event page.

There is nothing really different now than there was before she was freed. If Knox becomes an activist or does something noteworthy afterwards (perhaps writing a book, being a contestant on a show), an article may be warranted, such as Elizabeth Smart (activist) or Bristol Palin. in any case please take up the case at Talk:Murder of Meredith Kercher first. hbdragon88 (talk) 22:11, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:228 Monument located near the Presidential Office in Taipei.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:228 Monument located near the Presidential Office in Taipei.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. August 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Mario Balotelli, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Justin Chien moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Justin Chien. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and BLP sourcing issues. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Justiyaya 09:45, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Tonynz, two main issues caused me to move the page to draftspace. There does not exist sources to establish notability (the subject needs multiple reliable sources providing independent and indepth coverage) and there is issues with the sourcing (guidelines on writing about living people are quite strict, only reliable sources should be used, WP:IMDB and all other sources except 1 seems really unreliable). Justiyaya 09:49, 30 January 2024 (UTC) (please   mention me on reply)Reply
