Fresh start

Deletion disaster

Hi. You must be here because I screwed up the deletion process. Right you are. I've never done it before and I did not do it perfectly. Please feel obliged to link me to all the things I should have read first.

Image copyright problem with File:MarypettyTNYcover crop.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:MarypettyTNYcover crop.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 07:49, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Thankyou

Thankyou for your message. It is nice that some people appreciate my edits.Johnpacklambert (talk) 19:49, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Side Note

I noticed that Val Chadwick Bagley had been on your old talk page. I then went and looked up the article on him, and found it has been deleated four times. That has to be close to a record of number of times an article has been deleated. I am going to go make an article on him at mormonwiki.com. It is still small, but at least my work there does not get deleted like it sometimes does here on wikipedia.Johnpacklambert (talk) 19:59, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, it got deleted in the first place because I made a major screwup in an edit and that brought attention to it. C'est la vie. Thmazing (talk) 20:02, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

County templates

Thanks for the note :-) I don't know why, but for the last few weeks it's seems that whenever I (1) look at a page, (2) modify a template on that page, and (3) look at the page again, it always looks as if I'd not done anything to the template. You're not doing anything wrong; it's something with the server. Sorry I can't help you with the coding; if you want to find out more, you could put a note at the technical Village Pump, as others might have a better idea that I do. Articles for deletion nomination of Kerry Blair

I have nominated Kerry Blair, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kerry Blair. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. DreamGuy (talk) 03:47, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Whitney Awards

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Whitney Awards. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Whitney Awards. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:17, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Thmazing! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Jon Hammond - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Proposed deletion of Paul Fox (producer)

The article Paul Fox (producer) has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. andyzweb (talk) 07:11, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Thmazing

I know you. I've recently created this account so I can integrate Linescratchers information into Wikipedia. Since Linescratchers has a few good direct quotes from artists. I'm not 100% sure how to do everything right so maybe I can ask for your help now and then? Syphax1 (talk) 14:29, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Nomination of Mary Craig Sinclair for deletion

A discussion has begun about whether the article Mary Craig Sinclair, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mary Craig Sinclair until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

Autopatrolled

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 21:41, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Brad Teare

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Brad Teare requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. — 71.166.154.41 (talk) 00:27, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Brad Teare

The article Brad Teare has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion of the article has been declined; please address the lack of sources/references. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 00:34, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Healthy kids

A tag has been placed on Healthy kids, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Disambiguation link notification for April 24

Hi. When you recently edited AML Awards, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Marilyn Brown (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:47, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
