File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Vishal at 2009.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Vishal at 2009.jpg.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 03:32, 12 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 03:32, 12 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the new Mudaliar image edit

The previous Mudaliar image has been edited so that the current image depicts a single personality in each field such as Academician, Politician, Indian independence activists, Poet, Tamil film industry and Spiritual leader. So i had removed three personalities from the previous version. Adding more than one personality to one field necessitates to add more popular personalities in List of Mudaliars article. Suggestions are welcomed and you can edit this image further if you have any valid reasons --Sureshmaran (talk) 13:57, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have replaced the image from Sengunthar article. you can revert to the older version of Mudaliar image with the addition of a Sports personality. Also the old image of AR Rahman could be replaced with the newer one existing in wiki currently.--Sureshmaran (talk) 14:38, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pitmagen edit

IMDb agrees http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376076/awards. Rich Farmbrough, 10:54, 21 May 2010 (UTC).Reply

That page says Vikram won the award. Rich Farmbrough, 11:04, 21 May 2010 (UTC).Reply
Wikipedia does not just cover the current year. There is certainly enough evidence that he won the award that putting it in the article is not WP:Vandalism. For example the references on the page such as http://www.cinesouth.com/masala/hotnews/new/13022006-1.shtml. If you claim that he did not win for 2003 then it should be possible to find a reference showing who did? Rich Farmbrough, 11:14, 21 May 2010 (UTC).Reply

June 2010 edit

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Thank you! User has been incorrectly or insufficiently warned Netalarmtalk 13:25, 9 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I removed your latest report from WP:AIV. The edit summary hopefully explains why. Basically the content issues here don't look like obvious vandalism. Please be careful yourself in how you respond, and be aware of WP:3RR. The edits to your userpage are unacceptable however, and if they continue then that will lead to a block. Peter 10:39, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

I've now had the chance to take a closer look, and have given the IP user a final warning. If he/she continues, then I am happy for a block to be issued. Peter 19:34, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
It looks like Peter has already resolved the issue, but if the IP user vandalizes one more time, just file a report at WP:AIV. Netalarmtalk 21:02, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • I replied on my talk page. Peter 10:38, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Joseph Vijay edit

I presume you were talking about the Joseph Vijay article on my talk page. The only thing I'm removing from that article are the unnecessary film awards. There is a concensus on Tamil film articles that the only awards that are worth listing are Vijay Awards, Filmfare Awards, National Film Awards, ITFA, and any government award. All other awards should not be needlessly listed. Otherwise my job isn't about removing content--rather I work on keeping that article safe from vandalism and prevent unnecessary changes. Rather you send me warning messages when I make a real error in editing. Eelam StyleZ (talk) 14:31, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

For your information I didn't remove anything from the Early life section. If I ever remove anything, it will only be something written improperly, something unsourced or vandalism. Check the revision history carefully to see individual edits. Eelam StyleZ (talk) 22:23, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

July 2010 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Inaccuracies in The Da Vinci Code. File:Vishal's simple pose.jpg missing description details edit

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Vishal's simple pose.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:25, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

No minor awards and no lists! edit

There is a reason why your edits were reverted on the Joseph Vijay page and I've already warned you about this. Read and understand WP:MOS before editing. Stop reverting it back to your unconstructive edits. EelamStyleZ (talk) 02:16, 17 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:ActorVijayimage.JPG edit

Thank you for uploading File:ActorVijayimage.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:19, 2 January 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. multichill (talk) 10:19, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Image tagging for File:TamilActorVijayimage.JPG edit

July 2013 edit

Your recent editing history at List of Mudaliars shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Sitush (talk) 14:04, 14 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. - Sitush (talk) 15:14, 14 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring and making personal attacks, as you did at List of Mudaliars. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Bbb23 (talk) 15:29, 14 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your upload of File:College entrance.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution.
