edit

It is clear that you have created an account after editing as Special:Contributions/24.151.9.82. See here and here. Although your comments making it appear like you and IP are two different people are problematic, I am not going to take any action because of it. However, now that you have a named account, you must use it. If you edit logged out in the future to avoid scrutiny, your named account and any IP you use may be blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:06, 16 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Thatoneguylol101

edit

A tag has been placed on User:Thatoneguylol101 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals.   Hello, I'm ScottishFinnishRadish. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Survivor Series (2021), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 19:47, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

While I am not inclined to lift the block, any other admin is free to do so. The checkuser-restriction is lifted in this case. The other account they were using was AStupidBot. --Yamla (talk) 23:06, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please don't alter your signature in that matter. It looks like you are pretending to be someone else. Basically, what I'm saying here is that I don't think you should be unblocked but another admin is free to do so if they find you convincing. --Yamla (talk) 23:54, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I changed it because my real name is Johnny. Also, if I had a IP address earlier that had issues, I'm pretty sure I would've learned my lesson. Also, you're the same person who blocked me, so why can't you lift it. Also, lifting a block doesn't mean the block stays. Lifting a block means that the block has been removed. I also wanna see when I was a sockpuppet. Because despite making a incorrect edit on my phone account, I corrected it on my PC account because my phone died. 1 edit doesn't equal a sockpuppet. Johnny (talk) 00:42, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Who am I a sockpuppet of? Jimbo? — Czello 07:57, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Exactly. You're not a sockpuppet of anything. But somehow, AStupidBot is a sockpuppet of me, even though I didn't break any sockpuppet rules with my phone account. All I did was accidentally made a mistake with my phone account, my phone died, so I quickly fixed it on my PC account. Then I get blocked as a "sockpuppet". So if I'm gonna get blocked for quickly fixing a edit with no evidence of me abusing AStupidBot, you should get blocked because of our fight on the Survivor Series 2021 page because you kept reverting my edits. See how dumb that sounds? All I'm saying is that if I'm gonna be blocked, you should be blocked as a "sockpuppet" as if you were my Nokia 3310 account. Again, it doesn't make sense. Just like how making one accidental edit on one page and fixing it doesn't equal a sockpuppet. Johnny (talk) 17:41, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

How have I abused the account if it's one account then? Also, only one edit was made on that account. And there is no evidence that I broke any sockpuppet rules. So at least make a investigation first.

Decline reason:

You edited while logged out and from the "AStupidBot" account, as well as this one. Edits from this account also pretended to be someone different to the IP, to create the impression of more support for your point of view. All of these are breaches of this policy. It's by no means the worst sockpuppetry ever, but the appeals are weakened by the denials (eg. "one accidental edit from a phone"). Your edit history also suggests these are not your only accounts. For all these reasons this appeal is declined, like the ones before it. Any future appeals would need to address your understanding of the sockpuppetry policy and what other accounts you may have been using. -- Euryalus (talk) 21:27, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I understand what you said, and Euryalus may be the nicest Admin I've seen on Wikipedia. I will address that I do understand that sockpuppetry means I abused multiple accounts. I also understand it is a big no-no. And I admit I've used a bunch of accounts. Most of them I used because I forgot the password to their accounts. But if I did abuse them, I sincerely apologize. I used NewYorkGiantsarethebest, TheBigBoi, AStupidBot, and this account. I admit I acted like someone else to protect my IP but at the time, I was new to editing on Wikipedia and was unclear about the rules. So when I made this account and tried to follow rules, I failed at my job. I feel ashamed of myself. But I will say that after the IP incident, there was no more edits on that account. And AStupidBot was made for my phone if for any reason I couldn't access my PC. But now that I think about it, I still have the password for this account. So really, I just should've not made AStupidBot and lived my normal Wikipedia life. But now I regret my choices.

Request reason:

I was told to wait 6 months without sockpuppetry but the problem is that User:Yamla blocked my entire IP. So there is no way I can edit on anything else except my talk page unless I move to a different state in the USA or use a VPN. But there are problems. 1st,There is no way I am moving to a different state just so I can make a new account with a different IP. 2nd, from what I saw, Wikipedia doesn't allow VPNs. So I'd be wasting 6 months when I can't edit anything but my talk page. Johnny (talk) 00:34, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Unblock requests are not an outlet for boredom or making random complaints about blocks designed to stop your sock puppetry. I have disabled your ability to make more unblock requests, but you're free to do so after six months. After six months have passed, make a request via WP:UTRS to have your talk page access restored, and it will almost certainly be immediately granted. While you're waiting, please read through Wikipedia's policies. Using multiple accounts to pretend to be different people is the very definition of sock puppetry. "So there is no way I can edit on anything else except my talk page". THat's the entire point of the standard offer of six months without sockpuppetry it means six months WITHOUT ANY EDITS. Lavalizard101 (talk) 01:13, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Well I was never sockpuppeting. On all my 4 accounts, none of them edited on the same page before. Because to my knowledge and after looking at the Wikipedia page, sockpuppeting is trying to vandalize Wikipedia with two or more accounts. But I never tried to vandalize Wikipedia. Also, I was only blocked for sockpuppetry of User:AStupidBot but despite them editting on the same page, it was a quick correction from my phone account, which died. It makes me question if editting on a page is against sockpuppetry rules. Johnny (talk) 02:02, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I suggest that you read Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry very carefully. Vandalism is a different issue from sockpuppetry. You can still be blocked for abusively using multiple accounts even if all your edits are good edits.-- Toddy1 (talk) 10:12, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
But if they are good edits, how is it "abusively using multiple accounts"? And if it's because of how many accounts I have, most of them I lost the password for. Johnny (talk) 21:52, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
The point is that "all my edits were good edits" is not a defence when admins find evidence that you used multiple undisclosed accounts. If you want to appeal your block successfully, you have two choices:
  1. Wait 6 months without sockpuppetry, and without making any edits to English-language Wikipedia. That would probably work, provided you understood what you did that got you blocked.
  2. Show that you have not abusively used multiple accounts. But this is not going to work - I used a tool called the Editor Interaction Analyser and that showed that two of your accounts edited the article on the Super Bowl within a 53 second interval.[1] You also edited User talk:AStupidBot and placed a warning on that page as though you were a different person.[2] It seems clear that on two different pages you were using two accounts to mislead people.
By the way, I was not able to find an account called TheBigBoi. Are you sure that is the exact name for that account? -- Toddy1 (talk) 22:24, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ok. Let me list some things. 1. I don't know why I got blocked. "Sockpuppetry" is the reason, but that's it. 2. Like I said, I quickly changed the incorrect edit on my PC. And I admit I did act as a different person, but that was because I didn't wanna end up where we are now. 3. When I go on my phone, I see an account titled "TheBigBoi" on the saved passwords. It is possible the account is deleted because when I click it and try to log in, it won't let me. I hope we can sort out this situation sooner than later and clear any misunderstandings. Johnny (talk) 00:20, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

re (3) – The log shows an account called TheBigBoiXeus being created on 18 March 2021. It never made any edits. Try the password you have for TheBigBoi with that account, and if it works, ping admins and ask them to block it. If it is your account, and you informed admins, that would show good faith on your part   -- Toddy1 (talk) 10:23, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
re (1) read Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry. re (2) well that is the kind of behaviour why sockpuppetry is forbidden.-- Toddy1 (talk) 10:23, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I don't own TheBigBoiXeus. So unless I deleted it, I don't own an account named TheBigBoi. Also, show me what rule in Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry that I am violating. Johnny (talk) 20:46, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • >Also, show me what rule in Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry that I am violating.
Thatoneguylol101, what you need to do is to read through the policy and tick off those behaviours that you have done.
  • If you want to be unblocked, the advice on this page may help you: Wikipedia:Standard offer.

The conversation isn't over. What behaviours do I need to tick off? I wanna know and I wanna know now. Editing? Is that the problem? Is being on Wikipedia the reason I'm blocked? Is even existing against a rule now. I now understand the memes I see about Wikipedia. Because there is no clear evidence that I am sockpuppeting. No images, no videos, just excuses. Request reason:

I was blocked in December of 2021 for sockpuppeting, which I do admit I did. Why? Because I was stupid. So I decided that when my IP got unblocked to sockpuppet again, hoping that I wouldn't get blocked and I could be on Wikipedia normally. Of course, I got caught and decided to wait 6 months. The 6 month wait is over. I am appealing that I get unblocked because I waited my 6 months.

Concur with DFO that there are discrepancies between this and the UTRS appeal, which especially in such a trust-based block as socking, does not incline admins to consider appeals. Nosebagbear (talk) 14:25, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I have been blocked for well over a year for sockpuppeting. The real reason I did it was as an experiment. I wanted to see how fast I could get blocked on an alt. But it would've been harder to do if I had to wait for someone to revert my edits. So I reverted my alt's edit. Hours later, I see I'm banned. So I made multiple excuses, hoping to get unbanned, which obviously didn't work. It's been a year since that and I've learned my lesson. I am requesting that after almost 16 months, I get unblocked so I can go back to editing sockpuppet free. Johnny (talk) 18:53, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Also, considering I’m blocked, I wanna request an edit. In the Extreme Rules 2022 article, it says Bray Wyatt sang the “he’s got the whole world in his hands” but he didn’t. That’s actually a different song by Juggernaut Kid. Johnny (talk) 18:53, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

This attempt to have someone else edit on your behalf while you are blocked is considered attempted block evasion. That means the soonest you can now apply under WP:SO is six months from now, 2023-11-04. I very, very strongly suggest you stop evading or attempting to evade your block. --Yamla (talk) 09:57, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I’ve been waiting for almost 2 years to get unblocked. I’m not trying to block evade. I’m trying to make Wikipedia a reliable encyclopedia. Besides, I haven’t seen one sock master get unblocked. Request reason:

It's been almost 2 years since I've been blocked. Back in 2021, I wanted to experiment the admin system on an alt. So, I created AStupidBot to vandalize, while also fixing the vandalism on my main account and warning AStupidBot. Hours go by and I see that both accounts were blocked for sockpuppeting, which is true. I tried to lie my way out, but it didn't work. Months go by, and I create IAmKayden to try and edit normally, which failed. That leads to today. It is November 4th, 2023 at 11:44PM EST and I am making an unblock request. I understand that using one account to vandalize and one account to do good actions on is not right and the exact definition of sockpuppeting. If I get unblocked, I will be sure to make necessary edits only and not vandalize like I did almost 2 years ago. And AStupidBot and IAmKayden will be put to rest. Thank you. Johnny (talk) 03:50, 5 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

I firmly believe I count as the blocking admin in this case. Given there's been no evidence of recent block evasion and as you have addressed the reason that lead to your block, I'm extending WP:SO to you and lifting the block. Note that I expect you to stick to a single account and to avoid any logged-out editing. Welcome back and happy editing! Yamla (talk) 21:59, 8 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Note: I did submit an appeal in UTRS just in case. Johnny (talk) 05:41, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
