Wikipedia policies

edit

Please read our Wikipedia:No legal threats policy. Arguing that your article should not be deleted because there are "restraint of trade issues that should be brought to a Wikimedia attorney" is only a hairsbreadth away from invoking a legal threat. Editors who invoke legal proceedings have their editing privileges revoked. Please also read our Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not policy. Wikipedia articles are not resources for conducting business. Finally, please read our Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guidelines and Wikipedia:List of bad article ideas. Uncle G 15:50, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Linking to wikihistory

edit

Please see Wikipedia:External links before you add links to your site again.

What should be linked

3. Sites that contain neutral and accurate material that cannot be integrated into the Wikipedia article due to copyright issues, amount of detail (such as professional athlete statistics, movie or television credits, interview transcripts, or online textbooks) or other reasons.

Links normally to be avoided

1. Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article.

12. Links to open wikis, except those with a substantial history of stability and a substantial number of editors.

These links disqualify wikihistory from being linked. Please do not link to it again until it qualifies. Thank you. - TheMightyQuill 03:04, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Open Record Book

edit

A tag has been placed on Open Record Book requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Flowanda | Talk 23:26, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Open Record Book

edit

A tag has been placed on Open Record Book requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. --SelfStudyBuddyTALK-- 18:48, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
