Speedy deletion nomination of Hd EZ lock - Universal Locking HDMI Adapter edit

A tag has been placed on Hd EZ lock - Universal Locking HDMI Adapter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.    7   talk Δ |   04:08, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removing Speedy at Hd EZ lock - Universal Locking HDMI Adapter edit

Hi there Tatbes! I saw that you added a {{hangon}} tag to a page which you created, Hd EZ lock - Universal Locking HDMI Adapter. This is good, but in the process you removed the tag requesting deletion under CSD G11. Even though there is a hangon on the page, the deletion template should remain there. But don't worry, this doesn't mean that the page is going to get deleted. Make sure you edit the talk page of the page nominated for deletion, located at Talk:Hd EZ lock - Universal Locking HDMI Adapter, administrators will look at your reason why the page should remain before they decide what to do. Thanks - SDPatrolBot (talk) 09:07, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re:deletion question about hd ez lock edit

Hi Tatbes. I understand that you are new to Wikipedia and, although it may have not been your intent, Hd EZ lock - Universal Locking HDMI Adapter was written like an advertisement. Here on Wikipedia, we have a policy of speedy deleting advertising/spam pages. Now while there are hundreds if not thousands of product specific articles on Wikipedia, please note that articles for deletion are judged by their own merit, not in comparison to other articles (see WP:OTHERSTUFF). You are certainly more than welcome to re-submit the article, but just be sure that the text complies with the guidelines and policies listed out at WP:ADS and WP:MOS. Otherwise, you may risk having your article deleted again. Hope that helps to clarify things. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 22:17, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I specialize in image work and not writing articles. Regretfully, I'm sorry I can't help you very much here, but someone else may be able to. Add this tag {{helpme}} somewhere on this page with a description of what you need help with - you should get a very fast response. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 22:34, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

  Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:27, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}} Hello, my article was deleted and I asked several times on how i might be able to mention this product factually, without coming across as spam or advertisement but was only given a general response referring me to wikipedia's policy. I'd really appreciate if someone can give me guidance on how I can change the content of the article to comply...i made several edits to make it factually based, not subjective and not promotional, while still explaining the scope of the issue and offering a description of the product.

Thank you in advance if you can help!

Firstly, a question: are you connected to the subject in some way, in business, or whatever? If not, skip this part. If so, then you have a conflict of interest, and thus it is very difficult to write a neutral, acceptable article. If this is the case, then we strongly recommend that you do not create the article. There are options available to create an appropriately sourced article in your user area, and then request that it is created. Please read this essay on best practice, and the business FAQ
Next - notability. In order to have an article on Wikipedia, the subject must meet the notability guidelines. The simplest, most important one is the general notability guideline, which says a subject needs significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. That carefully-worded phrase explains quite a lot;
Significant coverage - such as, a number of news articles about the article topic - not passing mentions
Reliable sources - well, this is defined in some detail in WP:RS, but the essence of it is - something that is generally trusted - such as the BBC, CNN, The New York Times. Books are good, too. Blog-sites are rarely reliable.
Independent - we don't use primary sources, such as the companys own website, or anything like that. We avoid press-releases. We want secondary coverage - other people independently writing about the subject.
In the case of this article, looking on the internet, I am unable to find any appropriate sources, and therefore I think it will be difficult to establish notability. I'm sorry. Google news (all dates) only shows this. We would need to see coverage of product - articles about it, not passing mentions, and nothing produced by the company.
There is another important point to note here though, and that is, you can work on articles in your own user space. For example, user:Tatbes/EZ Lock - you can click on that red link and make that page. It can stay there forever; it is not in the live area. You can edit it, improve it, ask for help with it, etc. If, eventually, you are able to add suitable references (as I have described), then it could be copied back to the 'live' area.
I suggest that you consider working on some other existing articles - perhaps something of interest.
I hope that you will continue to work on WIkipedia, and I assure you that I will help in any way I can. For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
Best wishes,
